I'd like to thank the 4th AK group I ever got, at a time when speedruns were still possible (and in fact, expected) you took the time to explain Demon Wall's rotation and Anantaboga's skills even though it took us a little longer to finish the dungeon. You 3 random strangers were awesome.
Going on my 7th relic now and it seems like a lifetime ago, but after my first 3 (horrible) groups I was really grateful for the help.
When I went through 3 stacks of 99 Mulled Tea wiping over and over and over again on Titan HM in Duty Finder I was starting to think that it was just me and that I was a bad player and didn't deserve to get a relic. I was really good at dodging and keeping the tank topped off for Mountain Buster but I was never able to actually get a win. I was hopeless about it.
Then one night I get a random invite and when I join I see that it's made up of most all the people I played with in my old Prestige Linkshell from 1.0 on Balmung. I was not expecting this at all because everyone had moved on to different free companies so I didn't think to even ask any of them what there progression was. Some of them had already beaten Titan and some hadn't but it only took a couple of attempts with them and we killed him with everyone standing at the end of the fight.
I had really lost hope that I would win then some old friends come in and kick his ass. It was pretty awesome. Thanks again Prestige.
It's always awesome to see a thread like this! I think in time this game can have a really great community if we all work at it! :)
I always stop to raise people when I see them dead, I always happily explain dungeons to new folks, and I'm always glad to help people through things like Garuda and such.
I want to thank everyone else out there who is kind and patient. That's what community is all about. It's always so much more fun when you find other people who have good attitudes to play with. ^^
A huge shout-out to the DF group I just ran Qarn with, you three made this the smoothest Qarn run I've ever had. I seriously cannot believe how quickly and smoothly we took down everything, from the Qarn Facer the first time we ran into it to the Adjudicator and his Verges. You guys rock, and if I see you in game--whether we remember each other or not--I'd love to tank for you again.
And even though it's been about a month since, I'd like to thank the guys I first ran Dzemael Darkhold with. I wasn't sure how well we'd do, or how far we'd get, with no one knowing the dungeon except our tank who ran it in 1.0, but we did great for all of us being a bunch of first-timers in 2.0. It was incredibly fun figuring out the bosses and the mechanics on our own, and I'm glad I got to run it with such a cool group.
Helped solotanking a Hydra party with my pally. It felt nyagusting. Will not do it again.
I want to thank those rare parties where people knew exactly what they were doing and made the run swift and pleasant. Thank you for not sucking dragon balls evolution. You make this game worth while.
I have had far more positive experiences than negative. Thank you 50 alchemist for melding help, even when I forgot my carbon mats. Then wouldnt accept a tip. Thats one rad dude!
Was mining wind shards and crafting in place on Adamantoise when a 50 Miner/GS stopped me and gave me two HQ grinding wheel better then I had (one for future use).
Since getting White Mage, Regen is the random drive by healing weapon. I'd always stop and heal people if they had 50% or lower health but this is instant and on the fly.
Crafting,I give away far more than I sell. You see someone wandering by in hodge podge gear, inspect them and set them up in HQ to their level, NQ under tight conditions. I've been in conversations and there are a lot of 10K gil folk out there who just can't afford to buy gear. I help when I can.
I always overpay crafters for melding. I am on my second relic and had to get the the bow melded up. I already had the materia from spirit bonding and I have been somewhat lucky with gil in the game. I dropped the guy 5k for the melds. I usually try and do this as crafting doesn't make the money it should in this game.
