Hey, don't blame casuals, I'm consider myself casual but I don't mind taking the time to do things. As long as the battle system stays fast paced, and we keep leves, guild tasks, and behests, getting SP shouldn't be too much of an issue.Quote:

I think i like it just the idea of not really being level 1 again while level up Monk if it like that then i love it if not then i guess it be boring because most ppl right now have 50 on lot's of job unlocking a title that give you spell of it own is not really fun if all you can do is dungeon sure it give me the role i want and AF but there no more leveling the point of a mmo is to level up at least that how i feel when playing FFXI. When playing wow it was more about getting to max and doing raids all day and getting gear it was not really about how you got there it just when you get there.
FFXI give you a road and lot's of thing to do while you level wow is more about oh level 1-85 and now you can do raids and all you do is dungeon dungeon dungeon. then if you want to level something new you have to make a new char and it was just getting very quick to the end not about how great it was to get there and building your class that what want in ffxiv more of a journey to get max. -

My personal hope and interpretation would be...
Thf- have to have gld and pug ranked to a certain rank since glad uses knives and pug has some skills attuned to thf.
DRK- have to have mrd and thm ranked to a certain rank since thm has drk spells and mrd uses 2 hnd massive damage weapon
PLD- the obvious GLD and SNT/CON con for the spells snt for the defense
and so on those are 3 examples I can see for those types of classes...
again we don't know what ranks/classes need to be reached for the jobs and how they will be implemented, but I really do hope it resets at r1 for them so you rank up to achieve new and better skill sets for the job instead of just given to you, because you are already a rank(something) -

I think jobs will be and should be locked to classes. The whole reason they are changing the system is to have more unique roles for the classes, allowing it to be free for all simply repeats the very mistake they are trying to fix. Just as it makes no sense for conj/thm to be able to do wide volly in the current system, it also makes no sense to have a conj with dragoon job or a mrd with ranger job. Just because its called a job system does not mean its the same system from ffxi, simply saying FFXI allowed you to do it is not a reason and people need to remember FFXIV has a Armory System while FFXI had a Job/SubJob System(different from ffxiv job system).
I do hope they allow the use of more then one weapon type in the future, Such as MRD with DRK Job has access to scythe or GS and similar options for other classes. -

Whilst it might be slightly badly worded, I think they're trying to say that they don't want people to consider these specific roles as superior to the current classes, leavng for example, conjurer to be left redundant in the place of Black mage even in solo situations. I think it's all there, the wording is just so vague it's hard to pick out the facts.
Whilst I think I prefer your idea, it's clear (at least in the current design they have) the whole dual-class requirements aren't going to be necessary. As I said above, they only mention a rank requirement of a single class to unlock the quest.Quote:

This topic is my number one concern when I read about the job system. From what we know I am very worried that Jobs will be locked to a certain class.
So if GLA unlocks PLD does that mean I won't be able to use a Great Sword?
If Great Sword becomes a new class what job will it unlock? DRK maybe but then will that be tied to Great Sword so no Scythes ; ;
What Class will unlock what job and how many jobs are unlocked per class? Will I have to level GLA a job I am not fond off to get access to PLD and DRK. CON will most certainly unlock WHM and BLM so I would guess 2 Job's per class. So with GLA if it did unlock DRK and PLD are both expected to use Sword? Would a new weapon set be unlocked for that Job? I think it would have to unlock something.
Just have so many questions about this and want to know if I am making progress in the right classes to get access to the Jobs I want.
