I haven't played any warrior yet, but I was wondering what is the warrior equivalent of provoke? i.e. skill that matches other party members hate.

Nicely done sir. I just hope those low level tanks read it. Might want to add the difference when there is a ranged mob that you gather the melee mobs by it.
I think every beginning tank should read this. Would save a lot of headaches.
OP sums this up perfectly. I started out as a tank but then rekindled my love for pug/monk and it fustrates me if the tank doesnt go beyond the mob's initial placement to turn them around as most of my skills depend of being behind the mob, but I dont want to be the one to have my back to the upcoming enemies y'know? :P
as a tank i always used tomahawk, then defense buff while waiting for the mobs to gather round me, then overpower to attract the attention of all connected mobs onto me for maybe two turns (or more if healer needs to cast alot therefore counter act that hate)
oh- and imprtance of keeping gear up-to-date and applying VIT stats >.> had a tank in one dungeon with LESS HP than my pug. laughable!
Great thread. Just afraid those ppl who have no concept of tanking in MMO will never come to a forum to read these...
I enjoyed reading your guide. Thanks.
You forgot one key issue that as a tank you have no control over. Hate is a party thing, not just a tank issue. Unfortunately, most DPS feel the need to start every fight with the biggest damage skill they have before allowing the tank to gain full hate. Like the Blm that starts every main fight with a double Flare because the cool downs are up.
Very good guide though.
