Castrum grind might stop me from subbing

I agree with the OP other instances should be Viable. Best Solution is add more instances, make Hard mode of low level instances, and allow some stones to drop off of primals (maybe 25 per Primal). Getting board of the same instance over and over will burn people out. When people Burn out they cancel their subscription. I remember Viable ways of gearing up for MC, ZG, and Kara meant you did some instances, some crafted gear, some quest gear (Epic Chest piece for warriors didnt Vanilla WoW) Heriocs during BC. There were many different ways to get to a minimum gear level and all took effort.

Yes, grinding gear can be boring, but this is an MMO. Grinding is their bread and butter.

Perhaps you just need to stop worrying about keeping up with the Joneses. If higher level raids are important to you, put the effort into getting the gear that the others already have. Yes, it sucks when other people are off enjoying the later content, but they had to do just as many runs to get to that point.

Side note, I really hate when people complain about how unfair it is that they have to work full-time while others don't. Hate to break it to you, but a lot of people in this game work full-time jobs. I work full time and have a family, so my playtime is limited to funky off-hours, but you know, that's life. No, I won't have amazing gear anytime soon, but I'm working towards it slowly. If you can't handle that slow grind, maybe it's time to find something else you can enjoy in game, or don't sub as you have threatened. MMOs are not for everyone.

to the OP I am right there with ya on certain things here I would wait until 2.1 if you arent having as much fun. all they /mentioned/ was what we saw at the TGS maybe they may pull a Kojima and have a bunch of other dungeons to do for stones.

I'm convinced that you have no idea what the word "viable" actually means.

AK, WP, CM, and Praetorium all give very large amounts of "Tombs" (It's actually Tomestones, or "Tomes"). Most people on my server have moved to speed-running Praetorium now over CM, as it's apparently faster with good DPS. Just reaching my Mythology cap for two weeks has netted me enough tomes to gear an entire second class in full DL.

Tired of CM farming? Run one of the 3 other VIABLE methods of obtaining tomes.

If you're taking 60 min to do Prae/CM, you're doing it wrong. Should only take ~30 min. AK should take ~20 min. Don't go through DF, and instead go to Revenant's Toll and join a shout group. If you get really bored, change it up by running some HM Primals.

Also as others have mentioned HM dungeons are coming so that'll change things up.

If you don't like grinding anything to acquire end game currency to get end game gear, then this game just plain isn't for you. Please do not expect to have DL handed to you with just a few runs. We're all working hard to get ourselves geared out, including folks who "work for a living" and/or have families to take care of, by grinding what we need to grind. People do CM/Prae b/c they give you best tomes per time spent. You're free to do lower level dungeons/WP/primals. You're free to stop grinding for tomes.

Tomes 'do' drop off of primals. Ifrit gives 10 Philosophy, and 4 Mythology per kill. Garuda gives 20 Philosophy, and 10 Mythology IIRC.

As I stated in my post, there are 4 sizable methods of obtaining tomes. If all you choose to do is farm CM, that's you, but don't say that it's the only viable way of obtaining tomes.

Don't forget Extreme modes, they are also being added. Not sure which runs exactly are Extreme modes but... It's coming.

I'm with you, I'm convinced as well, most people that mention Viable, they just mean I can't do it fast enough. It's really weird to me, they complain that the game is too easy and too fast then all of a sudden they hit a road block where they can't get stuff fast enough they complain. Gamers for you, never know what they want.

I get that people want more options towards something, but people need to be realistic about the situation towards their target of interest. Not sure why people expect otherwise when they come to an MMORPG. It's like someone playing an FPS and complaining that it's so monotonous that they have to always be in 1st person. Hearing/reading the inevitable replies about how the MMORPG genre shouldn't be like that is just....
