I should have posted this update sooner but after a few weeks of troubleshooting, I determined the issue was with my router. The main isolation was playing the game on macOS and experiencing the issue with an entirely different config. I had also created new characters on different servers and still encountered the issue. Nobody in my FC or friends circle was experiencing these DCs during play, so a Square server issue seemed unlikely. No other internet connectivity issues at my location. After replacing the [practically 10 year old] router with a modern, gaming-focused router from Asus - I've never seen another 90006 error on either PS4 or macOS.

None of the fixes have worked, i'm on [Faerie] Constant lag all the time since maybe May time, I had to deactivate my account and stop playing it was that bad, now i've moved out and i'm with a different service provider i'm still getting the same issues. which makes playing with friends extremely difficult...

I thought I'd share my current experiences with this. It's been a little while since I last posted about this issue.
I had been getting disconnects almost daily. My roommate in the same apartment with the same network equipment was not.
Did a bit of looking, and we were both being connected to different server IP's. We both play exclusively on Exodus and nowhere else.
204.2.229.106 - Server my roommate was connecting to. No disconnect issues for them.
204.2.229.104 - Server I was being connected to. Disconnected daily and sometimes many times a day with 90002 errors.
Recently moved out of state four months ago. I'm 500 miles from where I used to live. Same internet company here (Comcast).
No disconnects using the Comcast supplied equipment here. Bought a router and cable modem to use myself so I wouldn't need their equipment. Also no disconnects on my own equipment.
The game is connecting me to different servers and after four months of playing, this is what I've seen at my new home.
204.2.229.103 - No disconnects in four months.
204.2.229.100 - No disconnects in four months.
204.2.229.97 - No disconnects in four months.
204.2.229.102 - Have only been disconnected once or twice from this one with 90002 errors.
The only conclusion I can draw for my own issues is that 204.2.229.104 is a problem server and the cause of my disconnects (solid traceroutes with no packetloss until my hops made it to San Jose or Sacramento). My computer and ISP have not changed. Only my location and being connected to a different server than I was before have changed. You could maybe factor in network equipment, but I was being disconnected on the same equipment my roommate was not previously, so I do not believe the local network setup is a factor in my particular case.
It's been nice being able to play content without the anxiety of being disconnected in the middle of it every time or being kicked from parties because I'm offline for 5 minutes. Or being disconnected multiple times in a row to the point the game is unplayable.
So this is what I've seen. I hope this info helps people. I'll see what happens when Endwalker goes live as I had no disconnect issues previously until Shadowbringers went live, and that's when the 90002 errors started.

I been recently having issues logging in FFXIV now. the Launcher would not Let me login whenever i have Exitlag on, Which I NEED to play the game now due to all the lag i am suddenly getting the past year or so. So its been hard to play the game with out Exitlag or a vpn to get some stable routing and connection with out stuff stopping and going or rubber banning.
I dont use VPNs never really had too at any point of time, I use Exitlag like a Year ago and its been stabling my connection with FFXIV pretty well. but now having Exitlag on the launcher gives me the "ID/password is not correct" I thought i was mistyping something until i log in fine to the Mogstation.

over the last two days, i've been thrown out of the game ALLOT!
been playing for a solid month now, no issues what so ever! but since last night.... i've been kicked of every 3-10 minutes! i've had 21(and counting) dc's today!
ever since this started, i've been running constant data traffic trough my router to see if i have a break somewhere, but i have no issues what so ever with anything but FFXIV!
i've tested other games with no problem! i've tested constant data stream between me and my vps! no breaks at all! running regular connection tests, aaand speed tests! and i 100% do not have any issues what so ever with my connection at all!
i am connected to 204.2.229.99 atm! and its a nightmare! constant 90002 errors! can't farm fishes, can't do dungeons, cant do anything that require me to actually press my buttons!
this is 100% a issue on their side! i would love to see them actually tell us what's going on! instead of giving out the same old troubleshoot thingy that does not work at all! :)

I have two PCs and only one giving me this error. Its on a wired Cat5e cable and it running at 4k and it just DC anytime I do a duty (mostly on a boss) and then DC for like 5 to 8 more times after that. My other PC is on wifi running at 1080p and does not DC.
I will try the VPN and stuff.

Frequent 90002 and a few 20002. Nothing changed on my end leading up to the issues starting this weekend. I've tried reinstall and all the copy/paste settings/flush/etc. FC mates are having the same issues. Is their work being done on the servers for Endwalker?

this is very upsetting
this is mofo ridiculous, i was almost done praetoria when i got dcd by this bs an then when i finally get the client back up I'm in a 1000 PERSON QUE, TY FOR WASTING AND HOUR OR MORE OF MY DAY. I get paid $23 and hour at work for them to waste my time, now i feel like square enix owes me at least that much for this bs.
I wanted to edit this and apologize for my relapse into wow player thinking. I've only been playing for like 2 weeks and I'm so use to bliz that I didn't check myself, the group didn't drop at least and I was able to pick up praetorium from where I stopped, we had to 4 man the rest lol, but still, happier then if I had to start over, plz fix this dc issue though, still majorly inconvenient.

From my other topic..
Seems the Chicago link died again. Me (from Michigan) and 2 friends both from Indiana all got disconnected at the exact same time.
Also over 600 players in queue when it came back online. So this clearly points to a problem that is outside of the players hands.
