Seems like a lot of these people are doing it for the sake of getting the jollies out of kicking people who do not agree with their thinking, or hoping to see rage.
Story about myself this time:
I've recently started to level WHM from lvl 50 to 60. The problem is I am a SCH main and only healed with that since 3.0 so I have gotten a bit too used to my fairy.
Twice now I've let a tank die because regen had worn off and I was happily spamming Stone II instead of healing. I am really sorry.
Here's one. This one is actually a lot better than some I've posted which isn't a lot. I just don't post here often.
Anyway, I'm starting to lvl my first tank to 60. Got PLD at 50 and WAR at 33. This was with DRK (want it to be my main tank).
Que for lvling roulette. Get Dusk Vigil. My first time tanking a lv50+ dungeon.
It actually went very well. No wipes and I held aggro fine when everyone else was 60. Did my best trying the MP management which I think I did okay with.. And it was a less than 30min run as well. :P
At the end the DRK weapon dropped which I promptly took as well since it was an upgrade for me. :D I also received all 3 comms. They either were a premade or thought I did good. So yay!
So glad my first tanking experience in lv50+ content went well!
Got Brayflox NM via leveling roulette on my dark knight some days ago and got a party with newbie bonus and three people who were unsynced. Only thing I could complain about this party was the lv34 astrologian not using card buffs or Diurnal (and thus not using Aspected Benefic either), but I didn't say anything, the healing was okay and I had a really bad run prior to this because I asked a dark knight in Haukke NM why they didn't use Darkside and got flamed for this. The DPS were doing their thing pretty well too, and as everyone needed exp and was nice and did okay, I decided to clear the entire dungeon to give everyone decent exp and the newbie their map achievement because I felt like doing something good to nice people.
...
...
...The newbie didn't get the map achievement /cry
Halatali, after 1st two group of mobs, I got told to not use Fire II because it was hard for tank to keep aggro.
We ran the dungeon fine with no wipes, but I felt bad cos I was still stealing aggro with just Fire I ><
FC mate later told me I probably should have just stuck to using Blizz 1 lol
Went to test out my sexy new CPU in Void Ark
when suddenly
Error 90000! Constantly. I was rightfully kicked, it was awful.
Guess I do need an ethernet connection :'( Oh well, setting that up later today.
If both platforms on one side of the room get puddles on them, that entire side of the room is screwed.
What I'm getting out of your quote is "but mah deeps, I shouldn't have to move."
This has happened to me a couple of times, yup. #meleelyfe :/
It's gotten to the point where I go into that boss fight and say on alliance: Don't get puked on, don't get pooped on, don't camp platforms, don't ignore adds. If you do all that, we're gonna get through this one just fine. (But seriously, that boss is gross lol)
Went into a Ex roulette and got fractal. I'm a PLD, playing with WHM, BLM and MNK. All three are building hate up like crazy. I'm really struggling keeping hate after the first pull. I lost hate a few times, but pulled them back in quickly. After we kill the mob, I tell them, "Wow! You guys sure hit hard! I had one hell of a time holding aggro!"
Then I look up and see I forgot shield oath. I turn it on and then say "Opps, I'm an idiot". Rest of the dungeon went just fine.
I'm going to have to move regardless of whether I'm standing on a platform or elsewhere in the arena(also being a machinist I'm given plenty of opportunities to move without messing up my rotation) and if both platforms on one side are gonna get puddles on them then you're given more than enough time to move around to the other set of platforms, even easier for melee players than ranged. But I'm guessing this is something we're not really gonna be able to see eye to eye on.
Fatty boom balatty boss combines the puddles and the big room aoe move somewhere after the second set of foobars spawn. Pretty sure he does it again not sure since it isn't going to wipe the raid regardless of two pads being covered. You can survive jumping on pad with puddles on it if healers are at least average, I have done it many times on melee classes. I don't know why people act like puddles are the main reason you wipe on that boss.
Angry healer rant incoming!
So still working on my first relic (snails pace I know lol) Doing A1. Healing partner dies twice, dps fail to kill adds at right spot or ignores them completely. I SOMEHOW keep the party alive enough for us to complete it.
0 Commendations.
I was livid! Really? 0 commendations!?!?! I'm not the type to beg for them but damn it 0 is just a slap in the face when I did nothing wrong. And it's a huge pet peeve of mine when DPS ignore mechanics! Yet if it wasn't for me we would have wiped. smfh.
I know it will happen so much more times spamming A1 but man ugh hate people!
/endrant.
Doing leveling roulette on my 30s ninja. It's Halatali. Tank D/C right away. Healer said I should tank, so I figure hey balls to the wall let's do this. I get in there and do my best, they do their best, and we no-tank it up to the first boss. Game crashes. I restart the PC, get the game going again and find they are still alive and have the first boss nearly defeated. I'm back just in time for the last couple hits. Great!
We no-tank through the second boss and finally a tank arrives for the last bit. Wish I could remember the names of those two casters in my group tho, because they both did great.
About Cu Chu, I do avoid camping the platforms since I've experienced getting screwed over the nearest one because it had a puddle on it. :( Though while I ranged, I'm always near the boss anyway (I find it easier to move out of the Corrosive Bile range when I'm nearer, same with the tentacle slam, also Blank).
Recent DF runs have been good (had a couple of fast Arboretum runs wherein the Belladonna fight ended before the add phase, yay!), save for that one VA run in which we wiped because of -- as usual -- Cu Chu. Was among the last DPS standing in our pt, everyone kicks it at -- what, 1-2% boss HP left. People left, ranks replenished, and we gutted Cu Chu. Echidna went well. Got 3 comms, lol. I must have done something right.
Happened a few weeks back -- Arboretum run, had a PLD, WHM and a MNK (okay, not too sure with the tank and healer, but I'm kind of sure it was a MNK). Can't remember the earlier parts but it was a pretty slow run. The healer's not DPSing, the tank seems to be new, slow run overall but I'm not complaining. At the Belladonna fight, the MNK tried to help the tank with -- positioning the boss, I guess (for Atropine Spore so DPS/healer can get close to the boss without the minion circle?) but he died. Then he said something along the lines of "don't res me, it's not worth it".
I guess he expected that we'll wipe, but lol nope. Had to be one of the longest boss fights I've been in, used more Wildfire more times than I could count, but we 3-manned the whole thing until the end. No one else died. Admittedly the pt had to tank one of the add explosion/debuff every time they spawned and at one point I switched the MP turret on for a moment, but we finished. I'm not sure if the healer did try to res the other DPS at some point, or if they pitched in the DPS effort, but hey, the tank and I survived.
At the end of runs I usually thank everyone (unless it was terribad and people were asses...or you know, I was slow). I thanked the healer and the tank, and went on my merry way.
Yep just hooked up my ethernet.... so much better.
Also apparently my router reset itself at some point, I had to reforward all my ports :T uuugh
I've learned long ago that the harder you have to work, the less likely you'll get comms. It's a sad and frustrating truth. (This means, as a sch df'ing a1n for my own relics, I got a lot of comms for not going out of cleric ever... of course this also means I got none when everything went to hell due to stupid deaths and/or failed mechanics and I had to toss out heals and raises everywhere.)
For sure. Before I had this awesome PC, I played wireless on a laptop, because it was all I had. Never again. It was so bad that the microwave messed with my connection whenever it was in use. Everyone I explained that to would say I was making stuff up because that's crazy, there's no way that's possible, the microwave, really? I googled it, it's definitely possible if your router's signal is a certain frequency, otherwise you tell me why my internet connection breaks whenever someone's warming up their dinner, and it would magically come back when they were done.
Microwaves are the enemy when dealing with wifi.
I know the pain of healing like no tomorrow and not getting commendations. I was healing Azly ( not sure if spelled right) everyone besides me were new, my hp was higher than the tank. Everything actually went well intill last boss, ( btw i'm a was a sch) I was like in OP mode, i danced the heals and dps dance, i was timing everything perfectly, help kill the adds while healing the tank. It was the first time i said " I think I finally understand how to be a good sch" . After the fight everyone left immediately. T.T ( Replying to Selli)
It is most certainly possible.
Microwave ovens typically use waves at a frequency of 2.45 GHz which overlaps with the channels used by wifi devices working in the 2.4 GHz band - which is the majority of them at the moment.
The reason that particular frequency band is popular is because it is free for anyone to use for any purpose - as long as your output power is kept within certain limits. This also means it has started to become very crowded, which is a reason why many newer wifi devices have started to use the 5GHz band instead.
So lately I've been working on leveling up my WHM. I've gotten put through the trial by fire teaching method by being placed into things such as Ramuh Ex and Odin (all sync'd) in order to learn better. Yesterday, I think that it paid off xD
Trials Roulette, got Titan HM (yes, I know, not THAT tough). This was a mess of a fight though sadly. Every DPS went down at some point (only 1 got knocked off via landslide though) and I was the only one to raise them. Had to res my co-healer at one point too. People standing in multiple stacks of WotL, standing in bombs (and even worse, running from one exploding bomb to the next exploding bomb), you know, the works. I did a total of 7 raises that match. But, we got through it 1st go, messy as it was. Thank god for having a BRD!
And it was just nice when we left to see my chat box become a stack of player comms ^^ Got 6
Totally agree, my PLD just hit 60 and I hadn't really done any gear grinding from when my DRK hit 60 so I was left with white 150 weapons and some gear, law accesories, and a few pieces from fractal/neverreap. I had a very hard time holding hate. With such a big ilvl difference you can basically only use your enmity combo, no authority, no goring blade, because if you do the dps just creep right up.
I can't wait for when I have better gear so I don't have to struggle so much and can do some damage.
A couple days ago I was tanking the Vault as PLD. Had a fantastic group. My internet was cutting in and out that day for some reason (thank you Cox), and I was lagging so hard the game was literally unplayable in the middle of the dungeon. I aplogized profusely and asked if they were ok with me resetting router real quickk, as that usually fixes the problem. They all sat down to wait for me.
Get back in, do trash room before last boss. Run in to pull boss but boss isn't moving. OH CRAP NOT AGAIN. We make it to maybe 25% before I start lagging so bad I can't make it out of his big aoes. Res and run back, can't even click on the shortcut. Someone asks if I want to reset again, it's ok, to get thru the final boss.
Reset router, log in, make it through last boss no problem. I even hit level 60!
Thank you guys for being so understanding.
Levelling roulette. Titan story mode. Summoner level-synced from 50+ only spamming Ruin in first phase, used one Bio after heart phase. I almost wanted to push her off the edge myself.
Unfortunately for me yesterday I was "that" DPS. I've been tanking and leveling DRG for the last few weeks but fancied some BLM action as a change of pace, it was my first job leveled and the one I feel most comfortable on, or so I thought. I started with ex roulette and I had no idea how rusty I was, I was awful. I lost Enochian more times than I can remember, died I think 3 times and got hit by every mechanic going and even managed to DC once. The healer was great, mainly because he was too busy telling the DRG how awful he was. Even at my lowest ebb I still outclassed the DRG by a mile so as you can imagine the whole run was painful and I was quite embarassed afterwards to be honest.
As a BLM main I wasn't going to take that so I queued up for 60 roulette and.... it wasn't much better lol. I got Fractal (yay) and it turns out I can screw that up too, especially when the tank couldn't hold hate for love nor money (he was a WAR with 27k HP doing small pulls, just saying) I finally got my act together for the last boss so at least that went smoothly.
It's amazing how out of practice you get after doing other roles for a few weeks, I'd better get my game together for all the new dungeons, or just tank them. In fact I'm tempted to change my main to PLD anyway but I'd actually feel bad leaving BLM after that shower of **** I just did.....
My fastest void ark run so far. FC friend asked to join in progress because half of her group left at chuculainn.
I queue, pops immediately; just as the screen finishes loading I get the message stating that I already received my weekly drop.
I got out with 3 commendation for literally doing nothing.
After I got out of that, my friend's group had already filled up. :(
Edit: I joined just as the last boss died. >_<
Ran a brayflox NM on my healer it starts the tank is still a MRD and they are level 38 (I knew it was gonna be fun already…) I notice the tanks hp and they only have roughly 150 more hp than me. I check their gear and they only have 1 lvl 1 accessory a lvl 25 heavy armor a lvl 25 flanchard the rest was ok for that dungeon ( a lvl 34 weapon a lvl 32 gauntlet and a lvl 30 waist ). Their hp was dropping really fast I had to spam the cures heavy they didn’t use a single defensive cool down. They always used the lb when it filled. There was many wipes and hate battles between them and the NIN it took forever and the NIN ended up tanking the final boss. I probably should have just took the penalty and bounced…
Just got done with this Amdapor Keep run... newbie bard, fine.
Either doesn't read chat or can't read the autotranslate at all, not fine.... spams Wide Volley on everything. Everything. Single mobs? Wide Volley. Two mobs? Wide Volley. Also only uses one DOT at a time, never both.
Also because of WV he kept singing Army's Paeon since he was hemorrhaging TP. After the tank pulled a couple groups he even did a ")=" in the chat.
When he ran out of magic he'd wait for the regen tic and play it again immediately.
I wanted to cry the entire run.
Also due to a super derp on my part I got locked out of the boss room. The tank and healer were nice about it but the boss took like ten minutes. They LBd twice. I felt so bad.
Just right now, in Haukke Manor - A DRK with only the gear you get from your 30's quest (Sword, Chest Armor, Legs), some level 25 boots and a leather bracer, tanking without Grit or Darkside on.
Mass pulls the first room and the corner of the hallway together twice, wipes the group on both occasions.
Called him out for it, got dismissed (as a Puglist), probably because his buddies were backing him up, saying I should relax.

And that's why bad tanks happen.
Edit : Pulled his Lodestone shortly after

Just. No.
60 roulette, got Fractal.
PLD/WHM/BLM/SMN setup. Pretty much ultimate mob nuke party. We blasted through the dungeon, except for that part at the final boss where I tried to hit Cleric Stance and ended up using healer LB that I stupidly placed in the slot next to it instead.
*crawls into a corner in shame*
Had a GLD in my AST's Leveling roulette (Halatali), who I had to Cleric Stance heal-spam to keep alive (had just under 4 seconds' of health, but my regular Benefic did 80% of his max HP) without pulling every mob off him (which I still did frequently, because he apparently didn't know what Flash was). Turns out he had less defense than me or the BLM on top of not using CDs... So I told him to just dps where he likes and never to Flash except to Blind, so that I could spend my time healing... tankier party members (literally anyone else). Luckily, he didn't have friends to kick me, and after a while did as suggested. And with that I could finally dps, and keep mobs off the BLM in AoEs.
Why why why why do I always end up in Aurum Vale with a ranged DPS or caster that refuses to eat Morbol Fruit?
DO YOUR HEALER A FAVOR AND EAT UP! IT'S GOOD FOR YOU!!! D:<
What's funny about this is that his picture shows him wearing a full set of Prototype gear.
I was a little confused about that at first. I'm super sleepy. xD

DF can be pretty good sometimes.
This has been bothering me since it happened, so I've finally decided to post about it.
It happened a few weeks ago on AST in Void Ark at the 3rd boss. Boss was at 2% and only 2 people in the entire alliance were alive, myself and another party's tank. I'm healing the tank waiting for the lb3 bar to fill, it was so close. Finally fills, I start casting. Halfway through my parties tank leaves... and my lb3 is canceled and we wipe. Just.. GAH, WHY. WHYYYYY.
After that we wipe constantly until we eventually abandon... it still makes me sad. I still wonder if he did it on purpose...
(first forum post yay!)
I entered Library as lv 59 Machinist. I had Vault weapon, lv 57, as well as Vault head, and body, all accessories were green, and rest visible gear was crafted HQ lv 56. My lowest gear was HQ belt lv. 54. (yes, this is important! :D)
Others in party were PLD (F), WHM (E), DRG (F). I said "Hellsguard" with auto-translate as a greeting, and got a "hello" from the healer. Dungeon goes through fine, perhaps a little slow but I didn't mind the pace as I got plenty of things to do with all the abilities. The DRG d/cs at one point before first boss, we three kill the mobs, almost as slow as with all four. Fine. On first boss, the DRG dies two times and it takes time to beat it down. Before we got to the next trash mobs, the healer stops and asks what's wrong, I'm as well all "?", and since the tank had stopped I decided to check the dragoon's gear... only to notice there's a couple of blue gear, no HQs at all of crafted gear, and a level 50 weapon... A second later my screen darkens and I get the message "You've been dismissed from the party, and from the duty."
And that's how I was kicked out of a dungeon for the first time in my 2 years of playing ff14. My blood is still boiling from the whole incident. ><;;;
