Yes they will, 2.0 will launch at the same time on both PC and PS3.
Because visitors account for nothing when you consider the amount of media coverage E3 gets compared to the other two. Gamescom and TGS are mostly for hands-on demos, not big reveals.
Wasn't the PC client being distributed before the PS3 release? I'll look it up, but I coulda sworn this was the case.
EDIT: http://wdl.square-enix.com/ffxiv/dow...Roadmap_EN.pdf
Says the client will be distributed roughly starting in October. PS3 stuff in November or later.
Whatever bitch about everything SE will not let the game fail. Hell i can go to 2.0 with my current server pop. and not miss a beat if no new ppl join soooooo....Why you bitchin for?
Hi All,
There are certainly valid points on both sides of the argument.
Like many, I'm disappointed that Square isn't debuting their Final Fantasy XIV 2.0 Trailer at E3. At this point, we don't know if they'll be showing anything else related to 2.0, or not.
Is it a wasted opportunity? Sure.
Can Square-Enix still generate enough publicity / buzz after missing E3 to make 2.0 a success? Certainly.
So while it's disappointing, we're not on the Development Team. Video Game Development is complicated and issues arise.
Perhaps they had the Pre-Rendered CG ready, but the state of the in-game gameplay wasn't up to par? Maybe they had some good-looking environments but the frame rate was horrible? Or maybe their artists weren't done with their environments, etc.
I would rather Yoshida-san and company hold off on showing 2.0 if it wasn't ready for the public yet. As they say, you only get one chance to make a 1st Impression (for 2.0 / relaunch). So while the trailer may have been ready, maybe they didn't have anything else ready (no playable demo on the show floor, not enough supporting materials to show to the buyers / press).
Delays happen. Look at Konami and Metal Gear Solid and their delays. Look at Rock Star and the various delays when a new Grand Theft Auto comes out. Or Blizzard and their famous mantra regarding release dates for StarCraft, Diablo, etc.: "When it's done."
At this point, all we can do is accept the fact that we won't see a trailer at E3, and stay tuned for what SE has planned for 2.0 when they're ready to show it.
I still have high hopes for 2.0, and look forward to seeing the flood of new information when it becomes available.
