This would also be a nice touch. It bothers to me to no end when people roll on stuff they don't use. Their usual excuse, "But seals".

This would at least stop those that don't even have the job unlocked/at a certain level.

From 2.X (when I started) through now, people will always roll on gear they don't need, whether its in a dungeon, trial, or raid of any kind. It's everywhere. Which is why I can't understand why this is being implemented just into the 24 man....at that rate, with the excuse they used, let's implement it in everything. (I really don't mean to sound grumpy about it, but I have more than one class at 70 and use most of them equally. Except for you RDM. Not you. :P)

See, this is what SE should do instead of this garbage Greed Only thing, or just keep the Need button in for alliance raids. I rather not be the tank for the raid, and find a tank chest piece drop and instead of rolling Need for it instantly cause its better than my current piece, I have to roll greed for it cause of SE's new rule.

Now I really want this to be added to Savage Raids.

Bad players are going to be bad regardless of alt or main. While my alt job is only i353 I am still wearing a full set of completely pentamelded anemos gear and can easily out dps a significant portion of the dps that outgear me and are people's mains. Why? Because instead I took the time to learn a class that I got to 70, which is something a very large portion of the player base never does regardless of gear or if it is their main. Trying to say runs will get better suddenly because people are on their mains is ignorant. In fact the reason why it is easiest to run these raids on Tuesday is because the portion of players that know what they are doing run it only then, and will only keep going if they don't get a drop. Alt and mains have nothing to do with it.

Well now... guys I think we can all just safely boycott Ridorana aside from getting our tokens now: Players can trade their craftable item level 350 gear with J'tandhaa in Rhalgr's Reach (X:9.6 Y:11.6) in exchange for Resistance tokens. These tokens, along with a specific enhancement item, can be exchanged for item level 360 gear.

"But crafted gear is too expensive" - majority of the playerbase. So no, this won't impact Ridorana at all.

This and the fact they made it where cards have to be rolled on by 24 people. It's like they're asking people to stop doing their raid crap.

I meaaaan I main DRG, but I usually run healer, and I keep healer nearly as well geared as my DRG. Why should I run healer anymore though? It's the worst job to run in 24 mans, it's a lot of work, and I never minded it before if I could be guaranteed a drop, or at least only one person to roll against.

I have everything to 70 so I could arguably use any of the gear... but now if the first thing that drops is a DRG piece... which I don't NEED because my DRG is already IL 360+ I'm sorry for that person that is a DRG main that is a patch behind and trying to gear up... If I win the roll, I win the roll.

I never minded the wipefests in the past, I would help my friends run Rabanstre tons of times till they got the drop they wanted, but I know they'll all just roll on anything too, cause it's just not worth it if they can't get a piece.

24 mans are a wipe fests because people are bad players, not because they are coming in on their alt jobs. I rezed a MNK a least 20 times in Hashmal alone in a run of Rabanstre, it was their only job, my cohealer was often on the floor too (WHM was all they had leveled), but we made it, and by the end of the raid me and the tank (MT) were the only two that had not died at all.

This will not help at all. Someone playing their alt, if they're just bad and keep standing in AoEs and not doing mechanics, will still be just as bad playing their main, and no amount of gear cushioning will help that.

At least there's the minion to look forward to from the the lighthouse and eventual final raid of the Ivalice series if the pattern continues. You definitely know everyone wants the minion compared to wondering if someone was swiping your job's gear on purpose or not lol /pretends the alliance wide dice fight for one minion doesn't exist
