Bump - Keep up the good fight!
Posting the superior race that need to be added

Not to mention that despite this thread being years old it's the exact same arguments being circled around. It actually gave me a good chuckle when I first peeked into the forums again.
Anyway, I'm not surprised we didn't get a race with Stormblood's launch. Yoshi P said after Heavensward that they never wanted to hinge that much content design on an expansion launch ever again (the three jobs + new race on top of everything else). In truth I think that's why the Au Ra came out the way they did: it looks like from all the concept art they were meant to have similar differences like the Midlander and Highlander Hyurs do, but due to having to get all of that done that's not what happened.
Now I personally like the Au Ra as we have them (I mean...I main one), but I can understand why some folks are disappointed that we didn't get the more beastly variant. But I feel like if the Au Ra had been their own patch update we might have actually got horn choices instead of locking them into faces, and one clan be more beastly while the other more what we have now. That alone may be why we have no news on a new race yet: I imagine (or rather, hope) if one is coming, regardless of what that race is, they're actually attempting to give a little something both crowds want (small and cute vs the tall and demure/elegant/beastly).
Every time I see them, it reminds me of this ancient game I used to play at my Grandma's house:

I've been supporting this since 2.0 lol. As a fan of ff12 i definitely have always wanted to see this in ff14 and still do. It would sadden me greatly if it never comes to pass. What would really be a best situation is if it happened in the next major expansion. As well as a new tank class preferably something with a hammer like from the hobbit xD.
bump for the bunbuns XP
You know what?
FFXII Viera
FFT Viera
FFT Moogles
FFXIV Lupin
FFXII Bangaa
FFX Ronso
I vote do all of them. Plus all the other requests too. We could make the next expansion an expansion of playable races instead.
Yeah but what about Werewolf race too!
support this
as long as males can have some muscles and handsome faces i'm all for it :D
I’m totally for viera. But if they do it they NEED to add actual long hairstyles like in 12 and so forth. I would honestly be so upset if they add viera and are just still too scared to add waist length hair :/
* insert rez macro *
YES PLEASE!!
I really do hope they add Viera.
All hope is not lost friends! Viera are definitely now canon to Eorzea! Though called a "Minor Race" along with the Seeq and Baanga.. Not sure if that helps things though.
I WOULD CHANGE FOR VIERA SO FAST, SO HARD, LIFE JUST SPIN ENDLESSLY.
I need me my muscular manbunnies! (The real ones, aka: the viera ones.)
Also, please have cute wiggly emotes like male miqo'te's /joy. XD
P.S. If they ever DID make Viera, they better go with this version

Cuz that lala-esque shit doesn't fly. :/ Maybe as like... Viera children or something, but I want the good ol' Viera. Warrior bunnies that look as though they can kick your ass.
Wow! So they really do exist in Eorzea :D
This reminds me of the lead up to Au ra where the start putting hints and then the reveal happens. It even lines up with the update schedule; 4.3 is the tease, 4.4 is the in game reveal (lined up with fanfest where it's revealed).
I wonder how people like Nestama feel now...
The ones who said viera living in hydaelyn and never being mentioned or seen until 5.0 would cause a calamity
What happened to those people?
Jumping the gun rather hard are we? Being told they existed is not any confirmation or pointing toward confirmation. Overhyping yourself over a list of races of an obliterated nation is setting yourself up for failure, Ivalice part 3 could easily end up saying viera were wiped out by the garlean attack.
Dalmasca in the present has civillians, it's not a deserted kingdom, it's under Garlean rule but it has people currently living there. Jenomis mentions Seeq, Bangaa, and Viera and moogles in present tense, he doesn't mention it as part of the tale of Ivalice, he mentions what the current population of Dalmasca is like.
I don't mind Viera happening, just don't get yourselves all hyped up about a Race that hasn't yet been confirmed. A portion of another certain games population worked itself into a frenzy and got back handed for over hyping the possibility of a potential perceived race.
Theorizing is fine and what not, but don't make things out to be what they're not, at least not until they're confirmed. ;)
ermm, people that say it will not happend, seriously, you can say this?
i means viera are asked for soo long that if they add it simply for be a beastman without be playable it will be a riot... litterally, because it will not be different than slap the face of the community asking for it.
plus soo far the people against it was saying, it's not possible they don't exist in hyadelin, what this raid have proved wrong.
they do exit in this world, now the question is, do the dev really want to play with fire with this announcement and don't use viera as playable race, when it was asked for soo long? who know... added or not, i'm happy to see some link between hyadelin and ivalice... i'm more excited to know if they will use lea mundis as next deep dungeon. since it was said to exit in this world...
what did shock me more is the fact that ashe, rasler did exist in this world... in the last live letter they have said to write the story based on FFT, but this raid was filled to the brink with easter egg from FF12, between nalbina fortress, ashes, rasler... i'm curious to see how they will use this element, more important i'm really hyped to visit dalmasca now!
Reading comprehension went out the door :D
The game itself confirming viera's existence in Hydaelyn and someone saying they exist is now being stretched into saying that someone said they're confirmed to be the next race when no one said or implied that at all. Do we actually read what people write or they just make it up in their mind that they think they read what was actually not there?
And lets not forget what Yoshi said all along, that he discounted the viera because he felt they were too close to the miqo'te in design and he only wanted to have one human-with-animal-parts race in the game, so I don't think this attitude has changed. Lets not also forget there are other human races in the game that will never be playable for various reasons (padjal, Garlean-hyur, to name just two).
Having said that, I may be tempted to change my mind if viera were added to the game, that they looked (and acted) more like this instead of simply being a copy-paste of the Ivalice version (who, lets face it, are pretty much just like the padjal in personality anyway).
Pretty sure that's not the reason especially that part of animal part when au ra are just bigger humans with scale, tail and horn (animal parts)
It was a issue with there feet and au ra were were a better fitting new race
Dragon race for dragon related expansion
Yoshi also said not to give up on the idea
Idea of a stronger looking female race would be key
Since its really only Roes and High landers
Every other female race is scrawny or a potato.
Also a taller male race with a build in between au ra and Elezan would be nice

We'll just have to wait and see.
After doing the 24 man story today, SE are almost dangling it in front of us now. I feel like they're setting things up to introduce them properly, like how Yugiri was introduced before au ra were playable.
