Honestly love SMN as it is currently, while I feel that it could use roughly 3-5 more buttons since everything fits into two action bars I'm not upset by it's current incarnation in the least. What I wanted from the rework was to actually summon primals like every other iteration of the job in the series and it delivered.
I'm most happy with pet actions being cut down since there were way too many windows where actions would just be eaten if you hit something too early, punishing rotational errors itself isn't an issue to me per se, but having my Carbuncle/egi not use one or two abilities I queued because the target teleported and it has to bound over to them before I enter Demi phase was beyond frustrating. Having to either stagger with Ruin or take the DPS loss was not fun because it's a lose/lose. Being able to throw everything out in sequence and not worrying about the dumb AI is a godsend and I hope it stays this way going forward.
It does feel like 60-75% phys ranged, but that at least differentiates it from the other casters. Being able to clear mechanics with basic movement over repositioning tools is what makes it more enjoyable for me in high end content. I'd like to see them expand on the concept of the Ifrit window as timing it is easily the most fun part of feeling out a fight. Though I get that it's a tad boring to some.
