Didnt read the whole thread (on my phone atm) but I've said this over and over. Healing is faceroll easy in this game. Even in the "hardest" content you have time to DPS as a healer. If you aren't DPSing then you're sitting there doing nothing...and people get upset about that.

Nerfing cleric stance(90cd etc) will do nothing but make people expect healers to DPS more. Stance dancing wont really exist so people will expect healers to DPS without it. Standing there doing nothing still wont be accepted.

The only way to fix the meta is to make healing harder. More healing or nerf healing or both. From the video samples I saw of stormblood, that aint happening though. I doubt SE will ever fix the problem.

Now how does healing have no downtime? Maybe it seems like it has zero downtime healing because you are unskilled and can't predict damage and remember the flows of the DFs? ever think of that?

"I tend to pick healer in a lot of games. I done WoW, I done FFXI, and focused on healing classes more in 1P games then others. In FFXI endgame you had to learn what is coming and actually cast spells (prehealing) as the whatevers charge up moves so the heal landed in time for the next. I came in FFXIV and saw this cleric stance thing clearly letting me do solo content, something ffxi lacked and things took huge amounts of time for a healer could kill.

My first DFs here I saw how long the downtime was and started to use stance dancing in and out. This was back in 2.0, yes the start of 2.0. The only comment I got ever in the early days was "hey did you know you are in cleric stance?" My answer was yes, I take it off to cast a heal and put it back on, I guess since I do it so fast you have not noticed. The reply I got to that was "Oh makes sense" I never thought there would be drama between people because of a group having little awareness claiming healers need to always heal, being on the forums rather recently, around 1 year or so was really shocking to see. My other guess this situation exists is because of ingrained habits 'only one way to play because that is how I play in the past, healers don't DPS. I did not dps as healer in other games because you really can't you do in this one because I be board to death. I am the person in the video clicking things like a mad woman"

So ya I know someone that was into healing quite a bit, and DPS here when room allows with no issue, so I do not get the quoted question. Just because people pick up habits means no one breaks then and can't adjust to the situation? It proved false with my friend.

This can be static and it can even be party finder if people know how to deal with it. Honestly it's not hard, espcially when you just make tanks take the second fire. It's rng as well who gets the second btw. But yeah anwyays, there is so much BS in this thread its not even funny. How can 2 healers dish out really good dps before numbers in let's say 11s that requires a lot of heal? Or both healers doing over 900 in 12s? It's funny that those are raids and you can dish out that much, yet certain people act like healer has the biggest ''mechanic'' and have the ''hardest work'' in duty roulettes. Get a grip really, there is no proof of it, only seen proof where you can litterly stand afk for so long until the tank maybe can die.

Q3.) So...healers now have their DPS scale with Mind AND accuracy is no longer an issue. Do you think this will lead to players having even higher expectations of healers to contribute DPS to content since it is a much easier thing to do now?

A.) First of all, we do not expect healers to contribute to DPS. However we know a lot of the cutting edge players enjoy this aspect about the job and that those progressing in the raids early on use it help clear the fights. We decided to make it so that the idea was more approachable and less punishing so that if a player wants to try it, they aren’t sacrificing all of their healing capabilities to do so like they were with the old Cleric Stance. We didn’t like seeing healers doing entire dungeons in Cleric Stance, especially if they forget to switch back and heal!

That being said, and I want you to really reinforce this to your viewers, I firmly believe it shouldn’t be mandatory and we do NOT have the expectation of them to DPS.

I would agree with you but everytime they make hard content the masses complain and it gets nerfed. :c So I don't know what he could even DO to make people happy.

This. It ended up this way because the content was -so- hard to get through and new players would have -so- much trouble with it. Well, this is what we get instead then. Content that's moderately engaging for a month or two and then you're two dozen ilevels higher and the tank never drops below 85% with regen on.
