I will never live down south without air conditioning again, those years growing up were painful ;_; . Although it wouldn't be as humid as Alabama was, it might not be much of a problem.
But in all seriousness. This is actually very sudden on both my parents parts. I'm the only one they have talked to it about. Because I pay bills in the house and all. The only downside I can come up with is leaving my current workplace. I don't have any particular attachment to where im living, and have planned to leave eventually. It may just come a bit sooner than I thought ^^,

Texas is a big place. Gulf coast is plenty humid. Central Texas is hotter and drier (and little rain during summer months). West Texas is mountainous and desert (yes! both!) less humid but not as hot. "Panhandle" north is cooler and snowy in winter. Dallas? Never heard of it. ;)
