A great time I'd do without, it's just a shame it's an easy version of Relics HW.

As the relics were free and it's just a matter of farm time that he offers it to us like this why not, even if it shortens the content.

Eureka was one of the last great COMMUNITY content drops that this game got.

People always leech, that will never change, but that's their reputation they ruin by doing so.

Eureka still, to this day, has an amazing community on JP and NA. It has outlasted the test of time, and is still active to this day.

It was Challenging, Rewarding and gave purpose to the people that would have otherwise unsubscribed and stopped playing the game.

To this day, the Elemental Armor set is still one of the most sought after glamour sets in the game.

Things I dislike:
Books, just because each relic required too many of them.
Light grinds, because they feel so random. Sometimes duties give brilliant light, sometimes feeble. Changes every few hours and just overall promotes grinding the same instance over and over.
Drops that are not guaranteed. On release, you wouldn't always be guaranteed drops from ARR dungeons, requiring players to do them an unknown amount of times. Relying on luck and RNG is not enjoyable after beating the same dungeon 4+ times.
Desynthesis and crafting required. Most of this is unnecessary now, outside of ARR relics.

I think I'm fine with everything else. Things I love, though:
Bozja is number one, as I legitimately enjoy FATEs in highly populated areas. They feel alive. The boss fights in Bozja are especially enjoyable. I like Eureka too, but it was not nearly as enjoyable on release- especially not Pagos.
I like when I have to do daily quests for rewards, like for 50/60/70/80 Roulette and/or Leveling Roulette. I love dungeons but the lack of high rewards for them make it so I do not do them as often as I do other Roulettes.

Only thing I dont like about Bozja and Eureka is it's not in the open world. Put it into the open world and it would really open up the game, instead of every zone being just a lobby for the DF queue.

With their tech you would end up with multiple instances of the zone so still not that "open world" ;)

I understand that criticism and agree partially. I would like to be able to participate in Bozja without it being instanced content.

At the same time, because it's instanced content, I'm more likely to play with other people from other servers too. It's a difficult thing- I would like it not to be instanced, but because it IS instanced, it does have benefits.

It's only the second stage, so I'm not fussed. I can collect tomestones just as easilly in general roulette etc than anything else, like "light".


Eureka was the only real relic issue I came across for the last step - that final fate was never up, and took longer to try and spawn than you had in the instance.

See this is a good point, but it's more the fact that this was actually facilitated in Eureka due to its exorbitantly slow nature of it. The fact that people could do it is honestly a very large problem in and of itself. Granted, they actually addressed this in Bozja by ensuring it was fast-paced enough so that people didn't fall asleep at the wheel.

Fates are not fun. Doing the same easy content over and over again is not fun.

We don't need any content to make "old content active" cause you already have roulettes that help with that.

Can we please move on from establishing that relics must be a grind and instead make getting a relic use content that requires at least some braincells? For example, IMO deep dungeons are boring, but the later floors are fun cause of the risk of that wipe and require some level of awareness. In 1.0 the relics were a bit challenging to get with the 4 man fate thing and the harder ifrit that was required.

Give me something like the relic requiring a boss rush of all the extreme trial bosses of a patch tier in a row without intermissions or something like that. Or maybe extreme trials but with remixed mechanics.

In terms of Bozja/Eureka, 1v1 Bozja engagements were fun (until it was cheeseable), and Eureka Anemos had a beautiful zone. Those I liked, everything else was just a afk snoozefest.

Roulettes alone aren't even remotely sufficient, sorry to burst your bubble. Every week there are so many people asking in Novice Network for help with the queue even with all languages enabled and all, or ranting about being stuck in long queues. Even on MSQ trials. Most people do roulettes at reset and then never touch the duty finder again for the next day - and the duties they get are the more popular ones people have to have unlocked. That's how you get CT raids every day, with a bit of the new Alliance Raid sprinkled in for gear farming, it is simply the one every player unlocked at a point. Try queueing for a Heavensward Alliance Raid outside of busy hours and watch the timer reach 30 minutes, 45+ if you don't want to do them as DPS.

One single step of relic grind will not magically solve this problem, but it is one of many things that improve queues a little bit. (It's similar with moogle tomestone farming but this only exists for a short time.) And when they said they wanted to go back to the concept of earlier expansions without an extra special area, featuring multiple kinds of less active duties was the thing I expected to happen. Instead it's just "do your roulettes and buy yourself a shiny weapon tomorrow". Hell, even if it wouldn't be 3000 tomes in total but 30.000 it would be an improvement because it would require you to do more than your roulettes if you want to have them done, but it would still only help with more popular duties.

If they leave it up to FATEs alone? Yeah that’s boring.

Playing with Logos/Lost Actions to make the most out of the process? Yeah that’s fun, to me.
