If him or his fanbase is saying "zzzzzzzzz purchase a skip please" then maybe he shouldn't be playing FFXIV in the first place since it's clearly not meant for him and his fans.

Some of the most powerful moments in the game are built from the ground up from the very beginning, and that includes story beats from ARR. I mean, it's fine, isn't it, not every game is meant for everyone, and if he's compelled to purchase a skip because of his/his fans' preference it is not really an evidence of "FFXIV's weakness" or anything like that, it is simply that it is not a game for him and his followers.

And the game would be fine without him. FFXIV and its community doesn't need him and his followers to thrive.

Doesn't make any sense. Someone making more money then me and doing stuff I dont care or think about (heck you brought up things I never even mentioned) doesn't make them special. I never thought of it or mentioned it in the 1st place, you did. So I cant be Bitter or Jealous about it.

Then the game isn't for many people. I haven't met many people that enjoy ARR story and would want to skip to HW. Also gcbtw

Probably a smart move, just stream the endgame sections. Tbh even 14 is a pretty boring and slow game to stream unless you just stream raidbosses.

One of FFXIV's greatest strength is its story and the characters. If you truly don't care for them, then yes, this game is most probably not for you.

Sure and I agree but fact remains that ARR is pretty poor compared rest expansions and jobs is pretty slow and boring before Lv50-60 (at least)

ARR is a poor expansion and that’s that. Yes it lays the foundation but it does so very poorly. It feels like trying to cram so much of the story into one thing instead of evenly spacing it out across different ones. I’d hardly say if he doesn’t enjoy ARR then he should just quit the game. ARR isn’t even a fraction of the potential the story has. Personally if he’s not that interested in WoW’s story, i don’t see him getting into ARR at all considering it’s even more of a slog... He might not enjoy the story until ShB tbh and that’s fine, that’s basically how i feel.

While I agree that ARR is the weakest link in FFXIV we keep forgetting that this is weak for FFXIV standards, even ARR is still miles better than WoW story...

Aslo Asmon was adviced by FFXIV players to skip ARR, he himself said he won't do it because he wants to see the game with all it's strenghts and weaknesses, to get a better picture what this whole WoW community swapping to FFXIV is about. That got him honestly curious and he doesn't want to dismiss it as people being dumb but actually having a reason to do it.
He himself is actually a reasonable and nice person and no I'm not a fanboy. But a big streamer coming over to give FFXIV a nudge is very nice promotion. It does bring a heap of trolls with it too though there is no denying that but even they might realize FFXIV is not just some "weeb" game as they like to call it but actually has more to offer.

That's a tough one. I think I actually enjoyed Arthurs/Lich King story arc more than I do with ARR. But I'm/was also a big Warcraft 3 fan so maybe im bit biast.

I mean, I agree and disagree.

The story questing sometimes bores me. I love the story, but the back and forth is kind of dull to me. I do however, love playing in the Gold Saucer, I love the mini-games. I love running dungeons and PotD, etc. I think we all have different things we enjoy about the game and that's okay, honestly.

Personally toward the end of HW I did end up purchasing a skip because I just didn't like it, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the game or belong here. ^_^; Just means I didn't like one aspect of it. I don't understand people shaming those who don't enjoy the way FFXIV does questing - I didn't know you have to enjoy every aspect of the game to 'fit' in D:
