I was super excited about being able to fly when I purchased Stormblood, but I quickly realized that due to the shitty landscape/terrain, flying is more of a necessity than a nifty little perk of the expansion. As soon as I entered a new area, finding the aether currents and completing aether current quests was the first thing I did.

Also, to piggyback off of your post, I think it's dumb that the holiday bear can fly.

Flying is fine. Only areas with annoying terrain would be Lochs and Ruby Sea.

I semi-agree with the elephant, or rather, it they are going to have any and every mount fly at this point, make them do more than literally run through the air. Fenrir has its particle effects; Garo horses sprout wings. Meanwhile the new tank mounts and this elephant do no more than run through the air...

I agree, especially the 4.2 MSQ ending.

I would have roasted Asahi in front of everyone there by saying something along the line: "Trololol! How does it feel to serve a scrub? Even by cheesing af he still got beaten around like a lil' b*tch. Much skill! So wow! Lemme taste some of that salt hun!"

At times like these, I miss SWTOR, since there seems to be always a conversation option to roast tf out of your enemy.

And I'm not. I didn't state there wasn't a fanbase for them. I said they're the minority.

Are the more bestial races appreciated? Of course they are. Like I said, there is a fanbase for them. However people need to stop saying that the Western player base has this massive demand for them because clearly, no there isn't. I will give you ESO has a more even distribution compared to FFXIV and WoW, but that does not change the fact that the most played races are humanoid.

I also said that players should keep advocating for bestial races if they want them. I think that fanbase should have the option. However they need to realize how much of a fight it's going to be. Especially since Square Enix seems set on following the data without really questioning why the data is what it is. It's incredibly unfair, but that's what the fanbase is up against.

And I agree with you. Because trust me: even the folks who want cute options are getting tired of our only choices being have a tail or be 3 feet tall (yes Midlander Hyur is an option, but they're very stiff. I like them a lot, but SE really needs to revisit them).

It was actually the Viera thread that your post reminded me of and again, I agree with you: I feel like the best option Square Enix could give us with whatever race comes next is each clan be designed towards a different section of the fanbase. Fingers crossed that we get that!

I don't buy it. We have shoes and sandals with zero heel on them, so running barefoot should look just like when running with those flat shoes on.

Dungeons whould always take 40 mins, they should also be needless long and have actual breaks so people don't break them and force speed runs all the time. I don't mind people trying to be sonic but I seen way too many people suck at it and get the group killed cause they want to try to beat some stupid timer in their head. IF you can't deal SLOW THE F DOWN PLEASE!

Flying is disgusting, attuning to every ather and finishing every story quest before you can stop navigating the Craigs is just frustrating design.

It could be much, much worse...the sidequests for aether currents could be held out until around x.5 in a similar manner to how another MMO handles flying. The minimal amount of effort needed to unlock flying in this game is fine.
