Off Topic Discussion Megathread

I wish I had a job so I could have money to buy more games and then I could wish I didn't have a job so I could have time to play all the games I bought.

Visiting the forums these days makes me feel like such a boomer. A forum boomer at least. Not that drama has super abated or anything, at least we don't have actual cult recruiters running around anymore LOL

Dreadwyrm Academy isn't on the forum anymore...right?

I didn't read into the post in question as boasting and it's not uncommon for people to stockpile a bunch of games in their backlog but get distracted by other games and/or life throwing obstacles in the way. There's also far worse things that people could be spending their money on compared to video-games.

lol, I'm a total sucker for sales, I admit. I've gotten better lately, but still see that 75% off and think 'hmm, I might play it SOME Day..'

Exactly my thought process. Steam Sales can get really crazy. I think I spent like $60 which is the cost of ONE game these days but got like 15 games. Most these games are "One and Done" though...you play it one way and one way only and it's done. I keep going back to games that let me play one way and then start over and do a completely different way.

One such game? UnEpic. Side scroller RPG. One time I played as the typical Rogue with Daggers. The next time I played I was a Fire Mage...in Plate Mail armor. The time after that I played a Warrior with a spear who could make his own potions and go invisible or regen health like crazy.

Every time I played...I played the opposite of what I did last time and always different.

Those types of games are almost always enjoyable, provided you don't get sucked into the same play style(looking at you Elder Scrolls)

Finally got my new glasses in. Prescription's changed enough that it's giving me a minor headache wearing them, but better to get used to it now than when I have to drive.

You've reminded me that I need to go get new glasses. The ones I have are rather beaten up, have nicks in them and have survived being smacked around by a couple bucket openers and Normandy racks.

And that I need to renew my prescription...im only...like a decade behind give or take a year.

Also I want contacts. Still gonna wear glasses though. It's a part of me now.

I can't do contacts. The thought of sticking something to my eye like that makes me cringe.
