XIV is the type of mmo you're not supposed to "live in". you're supposed to have your fun, do what you want to get accomplished, and then go do something else. this game was not meant to be played 24/7 and be the be all and end all of games to play.

Why don't people complain about retainer costs which actually impact gameplay instead of a dress that no one really likes.
I feel you, OP.
1. Holiday emotes/costumes/etc. shouldn't be for sale. They could recycle that content because they get new players every expansion (and in between expansions). But unfortunately, this is what I'm buying for future gifts.
2. As a pay-to-play/monthly subbed game with each expansion costing $60+ USD, there is absolutely no reason why they should even have an extensive shop like Mogstation. A few items that you definitely should not be able to access in game - like Fantasia, name change, server change - is fine. Everything else? Not fine. That should be integrated into the game without extra fees.
Also, before people go "HOW DARE YOU ASK FOR FREE CONTENT!" It's not free. Assuming we the players sub every month, that's roughly $180 USD in subscriptions every year per individual. Every two years, we buy a $60-80+ expansion every time one comes out. Assuming I do pay every month (many people do), I would've paid over $1,700 USD since the time I first started playing FFXIV. I have never spent that much on any game - ever. If I bought extra retainers, that price would be even more. This. Game. Is. Not. FREE. Therefore, it shouldn't act like it's a free-to-play. Stop making arguments that we're asking for free crap when we (and you) are paying every month, please and thank you.
You dont always make sense, but when you do, you're spot on
To add to this if/when they allow buy order contracts, i hope they take that advantage right out of the hands of retainers. Because this is one of the only rare times the cash shop has even resembled p2w outside of jump potions.
