And the issue is not that the SERVERS are full, it is the log in system.
also if i move my mouse at all pressing 0 does nothing....anything guys? any advice?
I bet that once I finally make it onto the server they will shut it down for a few hours for maintenance. That would be a real kick in the jibblies. :D
Why is it that the, no doubt more populated, japanese servers are running perfectly fine and the NA/EU servers are garbage? Anybody have a rational idea?
No sorry wrong, there is maybe 1/3 of the players in jp as there are in NA/EU, there is no justification for 25 jp servers heck they didn't even exist until they were added in bp4, because the na servers went down and people wanted to plays so they dumped a bunch of new server on the jp side.
I'm not usually one to complain but this has got me more frustrated than I have ever been over a game. It would be nice to be able to play the game I paid for. No excuses. If you sold more than you expected then upgrade your damn hardware, release more servers asap. Not letting people play because there is too many people in the starting zone for 3 days? It makes me not want to play.
Why is there always problems like this, I don't see how people can defend them when in the IT world if something breaks, you fix the shit ASAP, as in within minutes or at least hours. Not just slap on some duct tape until Dell's servers/ram goes on sale. Just sayin. It would be nice for the devs to tell us exactly what they are doing to rectify the problem rather than just saying due to the overwhelming number of people we are only going to let half of you play. WTF?
Since the game launched yesterday, Japan servers are also having log in restriction now. How ironic.

I feel the same way. I still really like the game. I wish it was just being managed by some other company at this point.
I got 1017 problems, but playing FFXIV ain't one.
They just need to quit wasting our time. They should set how many people get to play and turn it off to the rest of us until they decide to let more in. I don't care what method they use but they can send us an email and tell us when we can expect to be able to log in and play rather than giving us errors.
Cancel the accounts they cant support until such a time as they can. But they have proven they prefer to just take peoples money and give them a lottery ticket instead so whatever.
Worst launch of a sub-based mmo ever. Don't sell a product that you can't support SE. False advertising included (EA time). This is one of the biggest scams in AAA mmo history. Including Phase4 Beta..EA time..and today...i've been able to login and play a grand total of about 12hrs.
Square Enix, I don't want to waste my entire day trying to log in with no idea as to how many people are in front of me or how long it will take. There are other things I could be doing that are a lot more productive and fun than constantly staring at a character select screen for hours. Instead of making everyone guess at your repair schedule, how about letting them know? Or, how about we all go do something else and you call us when it's fixed and we'll decide weather we're ready to come back.

The sad part is they will likely just keep it as is until enough people just flat out quit instead of fixing the problem. They are all about temp repairs instead of digging in committing some cash and increasing the NA/EU servers. It all started with a 2 day open beta (Look what they would have found in a week, maybe they new it and for monetary reasons wanted to collect all that order money and just temp fix everything "Later"). You would think after the travesty of 1.0 they would want to roll out smooth to maximize customers and revenue, but no, lets go off half cocked and just keep saying "Oh so sorry please keep trying to play though we need the cash", seriously? I know in society these days companies do not give a crap about customers, they see them as one does not matter another will show up, and thus do not really care what we think much less Insuring we have a good experience, Its more about schedules and collecting cash with minimal expenditures. Maybe a mass of refund requests will wake them up but likely they will just deny all requests while doing nothing to correct what is terrible service. If your car repairman charged you for repairs but only did 30% of the repairs and offered only an apology instead of correcting errors, would you still go there? well right now we are paying (We bought the game and the first month was included in the price) and we are paying to be told "The world is full right now. Wait for a spot to open and try again later." and the sad part is you are not even giving us a plan of action to correct it, all you are telling us is that we must suffer through restriction so that some people can enjoy the game. Shows a complete lack of caring about your customer base. If you guys can not manage the game at this point sell it to a COMPETENT COMPANY who knows how to fix your shortcomings which seem to be many. I hope it costs you, I hope your willingness to disregard your customer base and the Quality of your service digs deep into your future as a company.

Like most, I can not get into game either and played through 2 1/2 of the betas for this game.
Now, I need to go to bed to work at a real job again, tomorrow.
When the game can be played it is 'Amazing', but I don't have time for this kind of snafu right now. They should just offer refunds to those of us who want them.
Oh my fuckin' god.. UGH! I just got in finally, and got disconnected ONE minute later. ONE minute! *RAGE MODE*
Many of us are in the same boat that we know the car would be fixed and will run smooth and be a joy to drive, if the car repairman would just tell us what is wrong, what he will do, and when it will be fixed. City is full if mediocre repairmen and we were hoping that this one, promising better service after his grand re-opening with all the new shinies, would be different. But alas.....
Not to mention the fact Kato fails to realize his analogy doens't work...unless this car repair man can repair your car in a way that you like and enjoy, while the other car repair shops around just do it a different way that you don't enjoy as much...thus you have to put up with his crap.
The worst part for me is, my port is going bad for my internet, which makes me randomly disconnect from everything. It's extremely frustrating waiting ex amount of time to finally get it just to disconnect. Has happened way to many times for me.

Here are a List of Demands I have for Square-Enix
1. One additional free month of service due to my early access and first days being Error 1017.
2. Implementation of REAL queues--no limits, no cut-offs.
3. Free character transfer from servers that have filled up or have large queues.
Anything less than this and you won't see a dime of my money ever again.

In all honesty man, if you think about it, this is 1.0 Launch all over again, limited server access, log in issues, server population limitations. I figured Yoshi P and the other directors/administrators/server managers would have got it across their minds that an AFK timer is an almost necessary thing these days. In all honesty, I'm probably going to sit here and Play Dead Rising 2 (Free for Xbox Gold this month), while I wait it out, it's about the only thing I can do.
