Btw remember double weaving geirskogul into nastrond for the impossible 4 Nastronds per LotD?
You can double weave them with minimal to 0 delay. If only we could raise BotD to 31 seconds xP

Yea technically you can, you can have your companion out during SSS, though not sure if the companion would affect your final numbers
I've been noticing that when coming out of LOTD phase you can sneak in an extra gerisokgul but ONLY when looking out how many eye stacks you have if you have two or more hold it or you will be waiting 11 second or so before entering LOTD if you have one stack you can squeeze in one without having to wait when you hit max eye stacks
I do follow one simple rule : if geirskogul will pop up more than 9s after your 4th jump, hold it. That being said, i can squeeze 2 geirskogul in my rotation before entering LotD with a thrid one. After that, it line up nicely : 1 free geirskogul, 1 for entering LotD (with it always going off CD as I hit 4th Gaze and 30s on BotD)
I don't know if it's been talked about much, but what's the recommended course of action for those with high ping rates as far as double weaving goes? I have characters on NA and EU servers and while the EU ping is slightly better for me, I've noticed periods of serious eating into the GCD when double weaving.
I don't know, on dummies I just pop Geirkogul on cd and it lines perfectly with blood for blood + -2 or 3 seconds. Same for fights with lots of uptime I guess. You just end up delaying LotD activation to do it under b4b but the way you do it you just miss B4B and still get the same amount of eyes right?
For fights when you know there's a break sure this is the way to go. But if it's the boss is going to be there for a while I see no reason not to use that geirksogul and then use Geirskogul+2Nastronds under blood for blood.
So has anyone figured out a rotation that leads up LoTDall the way to when it wears off? curious to see what everyone has come up with so far
What stats are people pushing with Materia? I assume crit and direct hit are what we want to stack but how much skill speed do we need atm?
Go for crit/direct hit yeah, you're gonna have way too much skillspeed no worries.
Hey guys, I just finished leveling my DRG yesterday and recorded 2 videos of how the rotation should be in my opinion, dummy scenarios ofc. I'm pretty confidence to say there is little more to optimize but if you see anything that could be handled better, please don't hesitate and quote me!

The second one delays 2nd and 3th SSD in order to make it enter in the 2nd B4B and later on to make his Mirage Dive to enter in the 3th B4B window.
In the first one the 3th SSD and his Mirage is buffed with Dragon Sight instead of B4B and the 2nd SSD isn't buffed at all, but no need to delay SSD.

You're using geirskogul way too late in the opener, you should use it first before any jumps.
On a dummy you might, on an actual fight, it might delay your Lotd/B4B.C
What should DRG DPS be on average at 310 ilvl on Lakshmi? I have been neck and neck with my MNK at 2.6k - 2.7k on full fight clears. Then I look at RDM / MCH and they are around 3.2k / 2.9k or so respectively. Same ilvl.
Did DRG and MNK get hit that hard? I've been DRG and clearing relevant content since ARR but I've never struggled so much in terms of DPS.
P.D. I am mostly going fot crit or direct hit if I can on my melds. Thanks for any advice, I'm just a little worried since I love my class.
Guys whats the new rotation for drg? I am trying to build eyes and fire of Nastronds/GK as much as I can yet while retaining the 3.X rotation but my dps sucks. So if any of you had a pic/vid with the rotation that'd be nice, ty!

On our 310 verity belt. If you put in a rank 6 crit materia it only gets 34/40 out of it. Worth the minor stat loss to max crit or stuff in a full 40 point direct?
So where does DRG stand now in comparison to other DPS. I've heard a lot of people say we're the weakest DPS now. Is this true? ;-;
At 314 I do around 3600 class depending (between 3500 and 3700 depending on the other classes)
DRG traded in its personal dps for support dps so take that as you will but as you practice more you will start to do more. As long as you can clear the fight, no need to worry too much.
DRG in a vacuum is now 7th, so 3rd from the bottom. The idea was to give them a lot of offensive support but I do not think it panned out the way the development team intended. That being said we have yet to hit the content that requires any real skill so it really doesn't matter atm. The only thing that is being hurt right now is peoples egos (and mine, as a dragoon main).

I try to keep B4B, geirskogul, SSD, Jump, and Dragonfire dive off cooldown unless i know i may need them mechanically. I find it hard to work up to nastrond and if i focus too much on it i tunnel way more than i should.
cross class im using goad, invigorate, bloodbath, second wind, and diversion, think i want to rotate to true north and feint. prolly drop second winds and invigorate.

B4B and DS should be used to at least buff your FT and your F&C, if you precast it, you loose a lot of potency.
Only precast I would recommend (and i'm actually doing) is the BL, because even if you don't precast it, it ends up buffing your FT which should be buffed by your LS. So basically, it'll end up buff nothing

Rn it usually align correctly depending of your gcd.
Yeah 10 seconds can be a pain, but I think that the extra 150 pot is worth it in the end. I mean we wont really know for sure until all the math is broken down.
God I hate our SS. I have like 1600 at i310. In some ways it's sorta cool because unlike Monk, Samurai, or Ninja, Dragoon does not have an attack speed buff. But also, RIP our crit rate. Though at this early in gear progression, with a projected 0.01% per point we're gonna be between 12-13% no matter what

Heavy thrust > BL + BotD > Impulse drive > Dragon sight* + B4B > Disembowel > Potion > Chaos Thrust > GSK > Wheeling > Jump > Fang > Mirage > True > Spine shatter > Vorpal > Life surge + diversion** > Full > DfD > Fang > Mirage > Wheeling.
*Dragon sight can be double weaved if the person you wanna target is 2nd in the party list, which they should be, on controller. It will fall off after the 2nd wheeling thrust at the end of the rotation and depending on skill speed should be back up just after full thrust later in the rotation.
** For lakshimi since I don't typically trust healers in solo tank parties to keep the prey alive
Without potion you can move GSK and everything afterwards forwards but delay the GSK a little bit so it gets the buff from the disembowel, it probably won't work though due to the length of the animation.

Pretty much what I'm doing too.
I am used to WoW where cooldowns last 45seconds and you pop cooldowns and start casting a 4sec cast at 3sec on pull timer. Weaving them seems better. I have not DPS'd in an mmo in a long time so I am looking forward to trying the proposed rotations and see what i like.
anyone have any macros for dragon sight? as soon as i use it, most people beat feet thinking its a mechanic.
This one works at targeting the nearest party member. I'm sure you can add a line that says /p "Dragon sight stay by me <t>" or something so they know to stick by you. In raids you'll probably want to set it to target a specific party member, but this works great for dungeons.

This is what I use. I have my party list sorted melee > physical ranged > magic ranged so it will prioritize a melee if there is one. I can also mouse over the tank in a pinch if necessary. It has the added benefit of not requiring me to change my active target. It's worked very well for me so far.
