White Raven earring given out at The Rising event 2018

Old earrings with a status, not as much soon, are given to people. They're earrings. Who really cares? Raid gear at first can be called an "exclusive" until you can unsync the content, where some mechanics can just be completely skipped.

What about adding dates to items, or at least gear? Unique items would be the easiest to do this with. Just add the receiving date. Crafted items could have the crafting date. Traded items could even have the original date.

They also said glamour would not make it into the game. Sometimes minds change for the better. Mindsets and policy can change over the course of five years based on feedback, reality of the situation, and what can benefit the players and the company. What was inappropriate one day, may be appropriate the next.

As someone who beat Darnus(Hard) in 1.0 and got the earrings, why do you all care? The fight we got it from wasn't really hard and about 99% of you either don't wear it or threw it out for more inventory space. White Ravens were not even a legacy item, it is only a pair of earrings that came from that era. Legacy perks promised are still there. You got the exclusive chocobo, tattoo on your back, the story slightly altered to reference you and your 1.0 adventures, and the biggest one of all, the permanent discount on the monthly service.

What exactly does this mean? He says it won't be and he wasn't wrong. It doesn't mean they could not reappear in the future in some way.

That quote is nearly six years old, though. The development team adjusted their plans since then. For MMOs, you can't take old quotes and always expect the development team to stay true to them forever.

That depends on the devs.

If you ever wondered why many devs say:"We have no intention to do X right now" instead of "We won't do X", this is why. Devs can stay true to the prior quote forever, regardless of what they do later, because they anticipated they might change their views in the future.

I honestly don't know what else players can say here. The devs were caught being lazy and dishonest. last time I checked, that can affect the trust between the parties involved in the promise in the first place. Legacy players have every right to be angry that the devs said one thing because they needed their compliance and did another now that they are successful.

He's right though, they're not and weren't obtainable in ARR, but we SB now so it doesn't count.

The game is constantly evolving. The developers could say that they're never going to add another Frontlines map to the game ever again...only to change their mind and add one anyway. That's how game development works. The people acting like it's some sort of deep betrayal either need to get a different perspective or take their leave of the game if it bothers them so much.

I honestly wonder why some of the people complaining even play this game...especially when I look through their post history and see that they've had beef with the game for years. Perhaps it's time for them to hand the torch over to the newer generation of players? Especially since we seem to enjoy and appreciate the game a lot more than those who only seem to want the developers to treat them as celebrities because of something minor that happened five years ago...

Exclusive things aren't such forever. You can wear them and feel special (?) while they last, but sooner or later they'll become available for a wider playerbase. I don't see anything wrong with that; you could still enjoy their exclusiveness for a long time (in this case, it's been whole 6 years!). By the time they stop being exclusive, other exclusive things might have appeared, so you can repeat the process if you're into that kind of thing.

I for one wasn't upset when the Moogle attire was added to the cash shop, and I'm glad that old items, both from 1.0 and from any 2.0+ event, are being re-added into the game at a later time.
