What's your first impression of Eureka?

It was kinda fun, because we were in a fc party and talked about funny stuff via discord, while zerging mobs down. It's okay for something you can just do with a bunch of friends/fc mates, without much thinking or preparation. But after an hour or so we got really tired and bored and started making jokes about it. xD

Favorites were: "They took what? 12 months to design this?" "Yeah. I guess 1/2 month for the system and 11.5 months for the environment."

and

"I really just want to drown that stupid Lalafell...she's such a bitch!" "It's a he..." "Really?...How can you guys always tell?!"

Eureka works just like the old FFXI exp parties. You get your party together make sure you are around the same level. Then you pick a mob family that is easy to kill doesn't have bad special moves that is about 4 levels higher than you. If you are level 4 then fight level 8s for example. Kill that mob family over and over. You can even have the bard pull new mobs when one is about to die just like old times. Collect exp and crystals.

It's not really that bad it reminds of old school FFXI gameplay.

I mean from my perspective this thread is the same as people coming on here to say Savage is hard, you see that right?

Well, you still have dungeons, raids, primals, pvp ect.... do that if you don't like it.

I dont think anyone does, but most games change the pace as you progress thru them by doing things differently.

In Eureka it dosnt matter if your lvl 1 or lvl 20, you will still be doing the exact same thing the only difference is you will be doing it to a different and higher level mob.

I played those real MMO's for years. I see content like this being thrown into a game without any of the other systems that were around it. Completely isolated from the rest of the game and the only functional reward is something that is going to be out-dated the moment the next raid comes out for its targeted player type. This isn't even a shadow of them, its a mockery. Not a single thing was learned or improved from them either.

Yet for some reason there's people defending this system. I could be playing any of those games right now if I wanted to. At least then grind wouldn't be isolated from the rest of the game and have this novel concept called useful loot actually dropping.

It's terrible, and I'm cancelling the auto-renewal on my subscription.

The game has been less fun lately because fewer people are playing, because we were getting reduced new content in patches because they were developing Eureka.

And now we have Eureka, and they apparently spent all this time beta-testing it to make sure they'd identified any element that could possibly be fun and eradicated any trace of its existence.

If they wanted to make more FFXI they should just update FFXI. If FFXIV were like FFXI I wouldn't have started playing it.
