The very problem with end game combat is that they require these resources to begin with. It's an arms race between players developing strategy guides for bosses and the developers trying to make ever harder bosses because players make the strategy guides. It's gotten to the point where we have fights that advertise attacks as they happen, and unless someone is a savant, they wont be able to react in time and die the first time they encounter it. This kind of thing exists in arcades so people throw more quarters in the machine and it is never to the players benefit.
