I met another Bard in Void Ark in another party that would use alliance chat to coordinate Foe Requiem with me. Foe downtime was pretty much non-existent between the two of us. Although we might have mildly annoyed everyone else with the constant 'FOE UP/DOWN' messages.

I think hell has frozen over.

Ashe Avarosan of Coeurl, if you see this, thank you for what was perhaps the best run of Void Ark I've ever been in. And I say this as someone who probably runs it about 10 times per week purely for fun.

I actually had a pretty good Void Ark run today.
No wipes, only like 2 people died in our party, bosses died quickly, mechanics were actually done. Honestly I think the world is ending.

With all the runs I have done there I have never had a tank try pull the Turtle to the beehive wall. Most can barely survive the Turtle and ants. @_@

I was in Level 50 Roulette yesterday with a Warrior that was just very .....strange. It was Wanderer's Palace Hard. Piece of cake, right? Guess not. The Warrior was silent and ran foward, collecting the usual enemy gathering so we could AoE blast them down. He loses aggro pretty easily it seems, but his gear is quite a bit lower than mine so I figure that's why. It's only WP, so a couple enemies chewing on me isn't a huge deal. Then I noticed his TP was plummeting quickly, so I use Goad. At the end of the fight, his TP is still low but he continues forward, full speed ahead through bosses and mob groups, not allowing his TP to regenerate or the AST's MP to recover. I pull aggro a few times and have to stop so he can get it back. He kept my Goad on cooldown 100% of the time the whole dungeon. Once we reached the area with the Standards, he collects pretty much every single enemy possible and dies almost instantly. They all turn on me, and then I die almost instantly...and so on. He spawns at the entrance runs back and does the same thing again.....and dies again. The 3rd time, he again does the same thing, but by then we had killed off enough of the group to make it somewhat manageable. Still not a word spoken, and he is burning through TP like I've never seen before. I actually thought he was a bot at one point because it didn't seem to matter that he died, it was just rinse and repeat. But then he muttered "lb" during a boss when the healer got killed by stray aggro, so at that point I was just confused. The last boss was a bit of a struggle, I was constantly getting aggro so it was hard to even DPS at all.

We finished the dungeon, but the whole run was just ....wierd.

Omg was I in the same run with you? I just joined in progress as a whm in a group that was at the turtle. Tank pulled it all the way to the second beehive wall lol. The first wall was already dead so I guess they tried once and that's were the last healer left. XD

As awesome as that would be, you wouldn't have been able to join more than likely as I only run those as healer at the time. XD Last few days I've had to refrain due to massive lag when I get off work to play, can't really have a laggy healer. :S

You had a bot tank. They tend to run 50 content..

Roflmfao. Did you run with my boyfriend? XD He has the mentality of "no matter how new a dungeon is, the only thing stopping my pull is walls."

We attempted that pull (the turtle, and caterpillar things, and ants, and bees) the first day the new dungeons came out. It was a nightmare to heal through, but we the DPS and I survived... I'm pretty sure he doesn't do that pull anymore, through. But I still find it funny that someone else has attempted it. XD

what is bugging isnt the attempt de per se, there are tanks that can do that they dont go from 100 % down to 25% in one shot you have barely time to bring them up that the next one sees them down again to 25 % you bring them up again .and paff down again there though you are short of possibilities to bring them up again as they continue to take hits dont run out of AOEs and keep going down no matter how fast + added + asylum + assize you use ...

as I said in that run I used everything tried everything but there was just no way I could keep up, and the blame put on the healer was just too much for me to take, as I didnt feel I didnt do all I could or even didnt know what I was doing, which wasnt the case, it just was not possible at that moment to do so

The way my boyfriend handles Final Sting is he has a separate tab for enemy attacks (I'm not quite sure which specific form of dialouge it is) and when he sees "So-and-so is preparing Final Sting" he pops Hallowed/Living Dead. It's worked really well for us so far as long as the mobs use their skills within the same time frame as those buffs.

It's definitely a team effort to get through a pull with bees and a heavy part of it is on the tank. It's pretty hard to counter Final Stings with Bene the first one, and Tetra the second.

I've had tanks die to Final Sting before, they always blame the healer. It's just easier to blame someone else. Even though the bees wouldn't use Final String if they died faster...

You have another option against bees that cast Final Sting if you're WHM. It's called Fluid Aura.

Granted, not sure if it works on the ones in Arboretum, but I'm pretty sure I've successfully used it both in Qarn and Alwaysreap.

it works the bees were just what killed him but he was dead will before those due to the sheer amoutn of damages he took due to the number of mobs involved in this fight, I could barely cast stuff in time to keep him uip including tetra and been

That only works on one bee out of a million there but yeah. For bees i usually pop Divine Seal + Prescence of mind and let Cure II do the work. It usually turns out okay because I heal the hp back after final sting easily. Still had tanks die sometimes though.

This warrior in Pharos HM which I was running on AST. They said "I'll try not to pull too much", then pulled the first two groups and stood there, doing their thing. I put an Aspected Benefic on them and suddenly they ran off to pull everything else o.o Just... what. Mobs were running to me because of the regen but the warrior took them back, so no issues, I was just confused.

Bosses were tanked in Deliverance, which is okay, but after the second one the warrior decided it would be a great idea to tank the trash in DPS stance, thus the big room was a pain as I had to heal the tank during a pull, otherwise they would've died, and so half of all mobs were running to me. I dished everything out to keep myself alive, then summoner and dragoon took every mob but one away from me and then I had the, uhm, pleasure to keep everyone up - it worked somehow.

During the final boss, greys exploded, killing the warrior and the dragoon, leaving me kiting the boss. The summoner raised the tank, who never took the boss back, and I threw a swiftraise to the dragoon while running for my life o.o (it took a while before they accepted the raise, I guess they were afk - this would explain why bombs exploded). The summoner tried to dish out a limit break - which is hard as shit to execute on a kited boss ^^' - then I died at 2% and the summoner LB'd it to death. Yay!

Wait what?! How do I get this?! This would make my life so much better xD I didn't realize this was a thing. I will never die to final sting again!! :'D (ok, yea... i probably will, but now I can look at final sting coming and shed tears as I see my hallowed ground still on cooldown and begin tabbing through desperately looking for the bugger to stun).

Get group consisting WHM, BRD and WAR. WAR right away says he's not use to tanking. We could tell, right off the bat he forgot Defiance but turned it on after every one of us saying it at least once.
Now next one I'm not sure what happen but I am going to guess. Tank pulled mobs around the light, WHM does few Holys and tank ends up loosing hate to him. Tank asks healer to not DPS so much(?) and healer asks tank to do better job aka Overpower and such. They start arguing over lvl sync affecting to gear lvl and such and I notice WAR is turning off his Defiance for mobs and putting it back on before pull (when he remembered, he forgot for few pulls and that almost caused me to die lol.) I asked him why he did that and simple way to put it, he was more concerned about DPS.

I shrugged and kept on silence rest of the run.

Healer was in the wrong. Tank was brave enough to admit he wasn't the best, healer should of been civil and worked with him...not make it harder.

Ran a lvl50 Wanderes Palace Hard Mode with a Archer that refused to play BRD because it was "Lacking in DPS" Also saw a WHM Raging because she wanted Mobs pulled during MSQ 1 Area to the cannons that died in 1 hit because they had no HP Left to begin with and we all died instead of just killing them right there and then.

Also people complaining over me as a SMN trying to practice and burn through Pharos Hard even though they weren't telling me what to do and instead just continue to yell *Yes Raging at someone to play their class right instead of telling them what they should be doing will definately help them right?* Also I had the highest dps that run btw

and then a PLD who refused to Shield Oath while running with his wife who did no DPS whatsover as a BRD, and his other BRD friend while I was healing as a SCH barely keeping everyone alive in The Vault. That Dungeon Took Over 45minutes long.

While there are many things that can be cleansed, stupidity and laziness are not one of them.

OT: More of a queue horror story, but queued up for Aetherochemical as a tank, over 40 minutes in queue.
Sadly I don't have any good dungeon horror stories myself.

Healer was pretty civil about it imo he didn't say anything like "OMFG U NOOB", but like I said.. I'm not sure what happened. Could've been that WAR didn't have his Defiance on for that pull and didn't turn it on until he lost hate to WHM. I still wouldn't have turned off/on Def during the entire run, seeing that he forgot to turn it on couple of times. But we can agree to disagree on that too.

Someone in a linkshell I'm in asked for someone to queue Aery in progress as healer for an FC mate, stating their healer had simply left at the beginning. There must have been more than one Aery group looking for a healer, because I got a different group entirely. I zoned in partway through a conversation, apparently; one of the people commented "That's not mine but can't be worse," followed by a comment about how I was 60 already and had good gear so win/win. No idea what happened to the previous healer.

The tank does small pulls, so I start DPS'ing... and do a double take as the tank's HP suddenly plummet. She stood in an aoe marker. Okay, well, maybe it was a... no, she stood in the next one too. And the one after that. Throughout the entire dungeon, if an AoE marker was directed her way she stood in it. The first boss was kind of a charlie-foxtrot as well, but that was mostly because the tank DC'ed and the boss was just hitting everyone at random. When she got back, it seemed like she didn't really know how to take control of the situation. I ended up dying with the boss and an add hitting me, but thankfully the DPS killed it right then.

For some reason that I can't fathom, my heals felt sort of ineffective on the tank, like I could never fill her HP bar. She was a full fending warrior in Defiance, using 120-130 gear in Aery (which is entirely appropriate). Maybe I'm just used to how much I heal on Strength warriors. Then again, maybe it was the fact that she insisted on sampling all of the shiny orange floor candy even after I suggested moving out of it would be helpful. Honestly, I think the previous healer probably ragequit.

Is this where I post a 130 minute time expired queue that's still going up as of this post?

I queued in progress as DRK for 60 Roulette, got a pop for Neverreap at 17 minutes in. "Sweet," I thought, "they must be close to the last boss."

They were on the first pull.

The dps were mostly in the i145 white gear and one of them was new, I suppose the previous tank decided it was unacceptable for players to queue for a dungeon they meet the minimum ilvl for. I pulled the whole first island together anyway to see how we did. It took three minutes for everything to die, so I single pulled after that at a brisk pace with Grit off, stopping only to explain the bosses. It took us 30 minutes to get to the final boss and I ended at 53% of overall party damage.

Maybe tank damage nerfs are a long time coming. I can't wait to see how little tank stance I can get away with in 3.2. :D

Got Arboreturn for Expert today. The healer just bailed immediately. Didn't say anything, just bailed. Luckily another healer joined almost right away. The tank was hell bent on getting through the dungeon as quickly as possible. I like to think it was just a personal giant middle finger to the healer that we get through it in under thirty minutes. And boy did we.

I just got out of a doozy. Ravana normal on my alt character, we end up with 3 bards. Okay no big deal, it's just the story mode. Tank pulls, I throw up foes, then after a few minutes I notice the horror...

I'm the only bard using wanderer's minuet.
I'm the only bard keeping up windbite.
I'm the only bard using empyreal arrow (though one of them wasn't high enough)
Neither healer is dpsing even with foes.
I'm top on both DPS and hate (besides the two paladins for the latter)

We barely scrape by the add phase somehow, but ravana's health is going down slower than I've ever seen any boss, it's like I was doing a Fate solo. I am 90% sure we would have hit the enrage (does normal mode even have an enrage?) if half the group hadn't gotten knocked off and me then dying to autoattacks from Ravana.

So we wipe, I start trying to offer advice. I tell the two bards they should use wanderer's minuet and windbite, and ask the healers if they could DPS when I put foes up (I even have a macro for it come on), none of them say anything. We go again, and not a single person out of all 4 of them listened to me. I call them by name saying "You know I was talking to you, right?" and one of the other bards just completely stops dpsing for the whole first phase and stands there, until at add phase he finally says he 'hasn't played since 2011' and 'doesn't have any of those abilities', followed by how I should 'move out of my mom's basement'.

So I'm facepalming REALLY HARD at this point, and we all wipe to the add phase because we have 5 swords due to our one dps spending half the fight coming up with that 'sick burn'. I say "Do you always treat someone who is just trying help you like this?" and he continues to do nothing but show his lack of intelligence, so I tell him to do his class quests and we vote abandon.

Best part is I tried again and got one of the same healers, but we managed to carry him, even though he RANDOMLY felt the need to insult me before the first pull. Some people just CANNOT take constructive criticism I guess.

Got fractal today for dutyroulette. I was ripping aggro off the tank left and right no matter what i did. When I looked at his gear i saw he must have barely met the ilvl requirement. One of his acc was ilvl 130 for gods sake on a lvl 60 tank.
The worst was one of his rings was a dex based ring! pretty useless on a tank i take it? :P
Kept my cool, switched targets as much as I could and did the occasional tanking with my bard. Endresult was we cleared the instance, which is all that counts.

I'm drg. Tanked like 20 seconds of Cetus, an entire Morbol (kudos, healers), Cuchulainn 'til towers and Snake Phase Echidna (yes I got the aggro because tank died).
Enough said.

Where'd all my great void arks go.
I landed a void ark where I ended up having to just solo heal the party during vomit-fest Cucuhlainn. Needless to say dodging bile is pretty hard or somth bc lotsa people got poisoned. At least it gave me an excuse to actually heal

I just got out of LV60 roulette with my wife. The DRK didn't had darkside the entire run until the final boss.

The monk never did the bootshine combo and instead spammed dragon kick/demolish and...
...

Yep! He showed it to me when I started leveling tank, but I don't play tank often enough to really effect me too much, so I don't have one of my own (keeping aggro is too stressful for me, but having to constantly make sure no one dies is... apparently easier? XD) I usually just focus target one of the bees 'cause that's the healer in me. I also number them 'cause I'd rather have the DPS focus them and then AoE than have the tank die, but some groups can AoE them fast enough. It all depends on the group. :o

I tried messing with those chat filters that way. Gotta turn off everything except the mobs actions on so and so.

AAnd I'd just inner beast through it.

Monday night three hours till reset and I forgot to do Void Ark again... so I hop on my BRD....queue......yeah no. So I switch to tank and nothing again. So I laugh and switch to SCH, instant pop in prog.
I was sorta afraid of that..........
See I lag soooo so bad during VA I never really wanted to heal it (can't heal v well when you get 2fps).

They are at the morbols. My cohealer WHM is happy I'm there but I tell them to wait to celebrate since I've never healed this ever and I could be nigh-useless. It goes off without a hitch. So do all the other bosses. I died once during Mr Pukeface, but I was rezzed immediately and while others hit the floor, we got everyone back up and it was fine.

It was astounding. No wipes, barely any healing either. I didn't DPS too much because I was still afraid of lagging out at a bad time, but......the group was so good. They dodged and did the mechanics and EVERYTHING

I queue for the leveling roulette as a tank, it pops immediately (I am not used to that lol) with 11 minutes in progress.

I enter Qarn, new player bonus pops up and I see only a DRG and BLM (level 46 and 50), waiting at the first boss.

We sit there a bit waiting for a healer with no luck, BLM without saying anything uses physic on me, so I guess that's my cue to pull. We kill the boss after 2 tries and still no healer in sight.

Proceed to the next pull and bf tells me he is loggin on the game, so I ask him if he can join in progress as heal.

After a min or so he enters the duty and we help the 2(?) newbies until the end of the dungeon.
I am a bit puzzled because I opened all the rooms (even the last one next to the boss room) but they didn't get the map archievement, probably they didn't enter them even after I told them to do so. :confused:

We kill the boss and the BLM starts running around the room, asking "where is it??".
Curious, I ask what he is searching for.
He was searching for the quest for Qarn hm IN the dungeon, probably thought that it would pop up as soon as he beat the last boss.

We happily gave him the necessary info to go grab the next quest.

Newbies are adorable.:o

Benefit of the doubt: It's possible he hadn't realized HW job quests come every 2 levels rather than every 5 like in ARR. So I could see someone at 53 or 54 having not gone to their job trainer to find out they're behind on them. (It doesn't explain the lack of Windbite, though. Nor does it justify being rude about being asked for it.)

They probably have seen all the rooms and got the achievement already, but did not complete the dungeon on their first go, whenever that was. That's how that "new to dungeon" bonus works. Doesn't matter if you been through all of it, you have to clear it. I've attempted Ramuh EX 9 times, and I still have that annoying message.

Ex on my lolalt, get Pharos Hard.

Team, me SCH, WAR, DRG and BLM. Tank asks if mid large pulls are go (question was pointed at me) but BLM goes salty. Tank says that he can do singles, but being a BLM should be ok with AOEing (right?).

Fast forward, we get to first boss. I'm DPSing as much as I can and even help with adds. Tank is focusing on boss only (nothing wrong with that imo) but DRG goes salty now and calls out tank why he isn't picking up adds. Tank says they die in like 2 hits so no point for him to "pick them up". Now BLM goes even more salty and says tank has "attitude and bad tank". Now I'm pretty sure at this point me and tank both made the excat same face behind our screens. Tank even asks that is it wrong to ask healer if healer is ok with the plan he is going for. Both BLM and DRG just tell tank to "do his job". I stand up at this point and say he is doing just fine. Tank asks if DPS are mad at him for not picking up those adds at first boss that die in 2 hits. DPS just continue being salty, "Just do your job" "Can we just hurry"

Biiiiigger fast forward last boss. We wipe. Reason to that is on last phase grey bombs didn't die fast enough, even with me helping. DPS just get even more salty and call out on tank. We try again and last phase I start pushing blue bombs away. I was standing behind tank, just about to move away when tank turned boss around which DRG wasn't happy about and /slap him. Tank says he turned it away so I wouldn't get cleaved. We cleared dungeon, tank commended me for not being an ass and gave me com. If you're reading this tank, you got my com <3
