No trailer at E3 LOL @ SE

Seriously lol, not like TV advertising will be beneficial if SE is unable to release something perfect. You have a hard time to understand that SE won't have a third chance. They cannot allow themselves to release something crappy again, even average or good.

It must be excellent. If that level of quality wasn't reached, then it's better to wait, even if you miss the almighty E3. A succesful launch at Gamescom is better than an average launch at E3.

I'm sure they decided to hold back the trailer to not spoil the upcoming events of Dalamud and the 7th Umbral Era.

They are so respectful.

I love this line. Haven't people been saying this for almost 2 years now? Each time its not true lol. FF14 will have players as it always had just not a huge base unless the first showing (and of course a successful release) of FF14 2.0 is PERFECT. and i think only showing a trailer is a waste of space unless its in the middle of a Sony confrenece with a release date for ps3 which they won't have in 5 days when it starts.

I think a lot of the frustration in these threads stems from how long we've been waiting. "Wait till..." has been a mantra of the playerbase since Spring 2010.

Wait till Beta 3.
Wait till release.
Wait till the updates.
Yoshi-P just took over, wait till he's had a chance.
Wait till 1.18.
Wait till 1.19.
Wait till 2.0.
2.0 is a year away, wait till 1.20.
Wait till E3.
Wait till Gamescon.
Wait till TGS.

In the words of the great Dr. Ian Malcom: "Now, eventually you do plan to have dinosaurs on your dinosaur tour, right?"

SE, eventually you plan to have 2.0 in your 2.0 campaign, right?

I am wondering if the move is partially strategic on their part. Although I am incredibly dissapointed I can see some logic in holding off. Although E3 is a major affair Guildwars 2 is set to launch late next month. Maybe they are thinking if Guildwars 2 is incredibly successful it could easily undo momentum they may gain by offering up too much during E3. Just a thought.

I hope they do give us some details though. I've been anxiously waiting for an update and the trailer. It's like a kid who was promised a PS3 for Christmas in September and waits with anticipation through the rest of the year. When Christmas finally comes he opens the box and finds a sweater. Thanks for the sweater SE.

Just an observation :P I'm not bothered by it at all.

Splitting my time between XIV and Diablo 3 and Battlefield 3 has kept me more than entertained.
