Steam payment HUGE price increase!

So, apparently increasing our ping to 220ms+ moving the servers to an awful location wasn't enough. Now we need to pay for a VPN service + subscription increased values? Not to mention the fact that this is happening right after we spent our money with Stormblood.

Square Enix, do you really want us out of your game? Because that's exactly how you do it.

Yeah, a player in my FC is from Australia and that's how she pays for her sub.

Using a VPN didn't help me much in SP, so I moved to EU. However when I tried to change payment methods on PayPal to add crysta for the server transfer, I was charged before clicking on confirm. Contacted SE and they said they have a no refund policy and couldnt do anything about it because it's in the ToS I had previously agreed with. Now theyve breached the contract by not noticing us beforehand. What now? Can we start getting refunds then? I'd like a sum of my money back, as I have been held by a contract that just happened to be broken now. Plus I feel like I wasted 18 dollars on a server transfer to get at least a stable, tho still high ping connection to the servers

Well, that's unfortunate. They really should have informed you guys in advance that a change in price was due to occur. It's only fair.

As a European player, I'm unfortunately well aware of how easily players in regions outside of North America and Japan are screwed over in this game. The way in which the promotions for special items were handled is proof enough of that for me. It could very well be unintentional, too - but ultimately they need to do a much better job of keeping players informed.

Yeah, even promotional events like the one with Dr. Pepper. It's a lot more expensive for you guys than it was on NA.

Hello there. I'm a brazillian player who's been playing the game for about 3 years now. I always praised FFXIV for their decision to keep a "fair" price for certain regions. When I said "fair" It does not mean that Final Fantasy XIV was cheap for brazillian players to start with. For comparison World of Warcraft brazillian players always paid 15BR$, in Final Fantasy XIV the price was 32R$(a bit more than double), which is in no way shape or form cheap but it was POSSIBLE for people with a decent income to pay for monthly. Now that Square Enix decided to just increase the price by currency conversion, and judging the wages in this country are less than a third(and even less if currency conversion applied) if compared with the US and the fact that the money of a country plagged by corruption is worth very little. Paying the current price of almost 50BR$ is even more expansive than what I pay for internet and cable TV services combined. Continues...

Now is it fair for people to have to quit the game because Squre Enix wants a reason to squeeze their customers the most they can? I've been here for a long time and I was lucky to find amazing people who are willing to help me out with my subscription, but most are not so lucky. This may seem fair to some people but this is probably a goodbye for a huge part of the Russian and Brazillian playerbase in the game. Some may say that it's fair since the price is now through conversion equal to the US, it's extremely unfair to assume that since the general living standards here and in Russia are in no way equal to the US. But oh well, It's nothing surprising from the company who came up with the idea of "Upgrading your pre-order".

Ppl talk about fairness without knowing the meaning of it. Fairness and equality are two different things . for example, Making a poor person pay 10% of their incomes as taxes has a much stronger impact on their lives than making a rich person pay 10%. But that means everyone pays equal, at least percentage wise. THAT is equality.
Now if they take in account that the amount is a bit too much for a poor person and decrease that amount, or like I heard they do it in Germany(rich ppl pay more taxes to make up for what the poorer ones can't pay) is fairness.
Another example would be: homicide and selling without receipt. Both are crimes in some countries. So should both be punished equally? Or take into account the gravity of it?
And cmon these are examples simply to illustrate difference between equality and fairness.

Is this 280 a week? Because at the minimum wage in the USA, people bring home less than that after taxes. Quite a bit less.
I'm disabled after working for many many years and I get about 120 USD less than you in a month. Just because some of us live in "rich countries" doesn't mean that we are all rich. Also almost 2/3 of my monthly income go to my rent electricity and heat/cooling.
What Squeenix just pulled on you guys is wrong, but comparing yourselves to "rich countries" has nothing to do with your problem.
