One of many questionably slashy punchers for the monk.
I'll say that about the sleeve too then :P Otherwise we'll have to accept

is meant for bludgeoning, not slashing or stabbing as its design would suggest.
EDIT: That was worded really weird and I can't untangle that word salad. The main point is, there are several Monk weapons that look like they should be used for cutting stabbing, and slashing. The sleeve wouldn't be out of the purview of the monks as we've seen them so far.
Dancer should use fans - either Chinese or Spanish (Maybe Japanese) - as weapons and nothing else. Any developer that creates a Dancer class in an RPG that doesn't use fans as a weapon has created a blasphemy against the concept of a RPG dancer and should be punished by being forced to watch the 1995 film "Flamenco" 15 times in a row without breaks.
She must be a Dancer because of that single fling of her garment? While you ignore the other 99% of her attacks which are punches and kicks that she uses to kung fu the shit out of the WoL Monk. All because "Monks don't use slashing attacks" While Dancers are known to have an arsenal of punches and kicks? K.
And someone posted that picture of a Dancer from Final Fantasy Tactics. Did you look at her abilities? All dances not a single punch or kick or any hint of martial arts. I'm glad you guys are picking and choosing your favorite pieces while leaving everything else out to sculpt your theory.
That attack doesn't even look that different from the slashing lines you get from Demolish. Cutscenes have a lot of artistic freedom, so you have to take all their attacks with a grain of salt (in terms of matching in-game abilities).
Because Demolish has a slashing lines animation like that, I don't think that ability is very telling. It could be a new monk ability or just a movement that looked good for the trailer.
