Ears are not a factor, SE has acknowledged that when they released them clipping through the shadowless helmet.

Im confused...how is it misinformation to say if we want Full Compatibility with Headgear, like specifically on Hrothgar, that headgear would need to be Remade?
Humanoid Made Helmets will not fit a Hrothgar Head if you factor in the Muzzle / Snout.
I guess Ill specify; a 2nd version. Specifically, if you play Hrothgar and want to wear X headgear, the Model shows that version made for the Hrothgar. Similar to how some Helmets on Miqote has it own version that protects the ears.

And I mentioned in Point 2, they could say screw it and just let the Clipping happen.

To be honest there aren't any long shared hairstyles for male characters. The longest is style 105 which we already got for buns in 6.1. along with its female counterpart. I guess there's style 135 which is a medium length braid but I definitely wouldn't describe that as a long style. There are also a few styles here we'll never get for the same reason Miqos and Au'ra didn't get them (baldness/accessory clipping with animal ears is cursed).

The best we can hope for when it comes to additional gender neutral long hair is the same long hair everyone else has: Great Lengths from the Gold Saucer. Once we have that it's up to the hand of fate and SE to add brand new long hairstyles, something huge volumes of players have already been requesting. Viera already have some of the nicest long hairstyles in the game as exclusive racial hairs and I'm pretty sure there are plenty of non-Viera players who would love to use them.

I like to remain realistic in my copium optimism. There's a whole list of base game hairs here that we will absolutely get over the next major patch cycles plus additional Modern Aesthetics styles. With that we're in the same spot as everyone else waiting for new hairstyles.

I wonder, when they're done releasing the hairs for the Vieras, if they'll convert some of the Vieras' hair to the other races. It's a very common request to see, but I confess that I would be disgusted if that happened, since it's the only thing we have.

Great Lengths looks super good on male and female Viera and I'm hoping we get it sooner rather than later because it's such a popular style. It happened with Rainmaker in 6.1 so who knows. With the base game hairs they seem to just be going through the list but they have been more choosy with the Modern Aesthetics styles. Even if it isn't in this patch I have faith that it will be added eventually.

I could end up eating my words but I don't foresee them porting Viera hairstyles to other races. What I do think could be possible one day is the gendered style locks being removed and eventually having access to every racial hair as either sex. This really should have been standard for a long time but I digress; gendered hairstyles are stupid especially when there are 2x the hairs made for each race that end up locked to half their populations. This kind of change wouldn't happen for a long time but the game is always evolving so who knows.

This is excellent news and I'm really, really happy and quite frankly shocked the new ponytails function on Hrothgar as well! Obviously haven't seen the quality of the port but I'm pretty sure a lot of Hrothgar players had already resigned themselves to the assumption that they were getting nothing but ears in 6.2 so this is a big bonus and a good sign for the future. Two popular modern aesthetics additions for Viera as well! Early to Rise was another one that was highly requested and considering it has bangs it is exempt from 5head concerns.

So going off the list I posted yesterday in total it's 8 each for male and female Viera and 2 for Hrothgar this patch:

Female Viera: Style 107 (high twin pigtails), style 110 (twin braids)
Male Viera: Style 107 (floofy short), style 110 (short tucked)
Shared: Great lengths, Early to Rise, Ponytail 1, Ponytail 2, Modern Legend, style 111 (pixie)
Hrothgar: Ponytail 1, Ponytail 2

Looks like they skipped style 108 like I expected they would due to headband clipping. Understandable.

Seems like Modern Legend as well, or did we already have that?

We didn't so also new. I know a couple folks who will be disappointed we didn't get Styled for Hire but I'm sure Modern Legend will look good on the the buns.

One can hope that once hairstyles are sorted out and the new race added we'll see some attention to headgear. One can dream I suppose.

I'm not sure how many of my viera have early to rise but most of them have done relic so they probably have the coins if they didn't get the hair doing the content. My OCE Sophia character will be out of luck can just imagine the prices on the hair there on the marketboard. She is a skipper and hasn't done any relic content.

I wish mogstation hair was account wide I'd love the Lyse hair for all of mine but not at the prices it's selling for.

Yeah I guessed that they would release the new patchnote styles not for viera and hrothgar. It seems that SE has learned. I'm happily surprised. And hrothgar are getting their ears back!

I also expected it and/or Saintly Style since they were in the Moogle Tome events recently, but they're probably up next or at least soon-ish then.

Why we need to keep at it. It almost feels like, to me, they are just constantly testing the waters with how much they can get away with. Rather how little they can.

And new hairstyle working for Hroths is very nice. Wonder how that'll look like tho.

I might be missing some of the new hairs (?), but I think these are a couple that were talked about. Your forehead actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it would with the first hair.

Quite a few rewards from Island. I'll unlock that later today. Early to Rise 1.4 million on Balmung and people are just logging in that price is going to go up a tad! :P Good thing i have a lot of gold and platinum coins from Zad.

It probably is but at the very least it's something you purchase, not a random drop like the past 2 Bozja hairstyles.

I need to figure out where to unlock it as well. I should probably at least skim over the patch notes.... hairstyle going up is a given, sad for viera players who didn't think it was ever going to come out so they didn't buy it. Good for people wanting to make some quick cash.

Overall good for variety. A couple of them people would want. Don't know how the new ponytail hairstyles (?) would look. A relatively good patch in terms of viera hairs.

And like Sturm said, they look good. No fiveheads, no cone-heads, no botched hairbands or other weirdness I've noticed so far. :)
