How would you like some statistics while deliberations over the final cast lists continue?

Race distribution
Elezen: 5 entrants (1 male, 4 female) for 8.93%
Hyur: 9 entrants (3 male, 6 female) for 16.07%
Lalafell: 13 entrants (5 male, 8 female) for 23.21
Miqo'te: 28 entrants (7 male, 21 female) for 50%!!!!
Roegadyn: 1 entrant (Our poor, lonely Rho Bhigs!) for 1.79%

An overwhelming turnout from the Miqo'te! I am so sad we didn't get a single female Roegadyn enter.

Let's see how the servers represented. There were a lot of them with only a single entrant, so i'm just going to break down the top 3.

Server distribution
Balmung: 11 entrants for 19.64%
Excalibur: 6 entrants for 10.71%
Hyperion: 6 entrants for 10.71%

Evidently Balmung is a model factory! Let's see how many of them made it in...

I really wanna emphasize future contestants to look at Epsil's notes on page 159 for some good screenshot tips! I wanted to help out new contestants too, so I wanted to include a (hopefully) brief tutorial on the Wind-Up Sun minion. I think pretty much all of the Cycle 2 contestants would agree -- it's a must have.

Step 3: Another fantastic way to utilize this minion is to lock-on to it in order to move the center of your screenshot away from yourself. You can do this with anything really, other minions, pets, mobs, NPCs, other characters - but the sun minion is great because it holds still! Step 4: The last lesson I can offer is using a combination of all of the above. Using the light from the minion in combination with locking onto a mob in the background lets you make some fantastically dynamic shots all by yourself while still maintaining light. In the next example, I lock onto a mob in the background instead of the minion, but maintain proximity to the light. In addition, I'm hitting an emote expression and using the pause button to have my character face in a different direction. You can weave motion emotes into this as well if you hit the emote before locking on...it's more difficult, but not impossible. Keep at it to practice. There's a 'Voice Acting Alliance' forum? Dude, how do I get involved in that? I'd totally lend my voice to someone. I used to do internet radio and online DJing.

Also, for all my adoring fans (:P), I am sorry that I did not try out for this cycle. xD I thought about it and I want to watch and enjoy, then perhaps try to get in later on.

They do dubs for animes, video games, and original projects as well! I am pretty sure I found out about the site way back when after finding a, now nearly complete but canceled, Final Fantasy VIII Fan Dub on Youtube.

While most of us are really sad you didn't try out, I think the guys are all extremely happy you didn't. Ah well, you'll get em in Cycle 4! xD

@Nariko I believe you said in one of your reviews you were worried next Cycle would be an All-Stars, haha! As far as I am planning, Cycle 5 will be the All-Stars Cycle, pulling models from Cycle 1,2,3,4,YT1, and YT2! After that I leave for Japan *to finally live happily ever after with my boy* and i'll be signing over ENTM to Tyriont! xD

The cast list has been posted in the casting thread.

I hope all the new models check it out as well as Epsil's guildes. It'll make a world of difference in their shots.

Hello! ENTM GD thread! I'm so very excited to be a part of cycle 3! I'm already working on my first shoot, I have a few potential shots already taken, and a friend who has graciously helped me with a few, but I'm having such a hard time picking which one really fits the theme, truly thematically. Any past contestants have any advice, or thought process on how they narrowed down to that one and true photo that captured the right moment?

Thanks in advance if anyone has any advice or thoughts. And yay, still oozing with excitement that I was even chosen!

One piece of advice I have is download and use FRAPS. You get so many more SS per button press with that than in your FFXIV SS folder. :3 Other than that, try to think about everything in each shot. Like if choosing between 2, which has better lighting? More interesting weather? Good shot of your face? Better pose? Enemy position? etc. For instance, my shot for the battle one last cycle:

First off wow! That is such a beautiful shot! and secondly thank you very much for the advice I greatly appreciate, unfortunately I can't use FRAPS, since I'm on PS4 and it's the only machine I have to use when it comes to FFXIV:ARR.

Haha thanks!! For the real one I am planning on having a different background (thinking of making one really long rectangular collage of all the previous models pictures that moves along the back), along with a "polaroid" next to their name, and a body shot. All will be moving in different directions..though MUCH MUCH slower. Those zoom effects and beating effects give me motion sickness. But ive also watched it 25 times. xD

I've got a 2 month production time so I am not too worried about how the episodes and opening are gonna turn out. Not yet any way. xD

Here's something that might be useful for you people using the PS4: Videos.
Your PS4 has the capability of taking 15 minute HD videos. Its automatically recorded, however, you are able to control what is being recorded by double clicking the SHARE button. To end the recording, press it a third time, and it will bring up that Share menu thing. Save the video to your system, then transfer it to a USB.
Then you can take all the lovely screenshots from the video on your PC. This will help greatly when taking Battle shots.

yes. they are seperate events with no crossover so you can vote for both the girls and the boys rounds

I keep saying I've got mine done, then I sleep on it some and I end up taking even more screenies >.< lol. Thankfully I still keep it narrowed down to about 2-3 screenies each time. I think I have what I want now, but I keep going over and over and over the quite a few I've taken just in the past 2 days hahah (I'd be taking more right now more than likely, but ya know maintenance.)

Yeah this maintenance is so long, and on top of it it's a major patch, so I'll need to find time in between all the patch stuff to take some good screenies >< Oh well, at least maybe I can have some shots with the cute hair that is coming out :)

I'm doing a lot of this as well. I -think- I have the shot I want so I can just focus on patch goodness the rest of the week, but tomorrow I could wake up with yet another pose/background idea.

So many pictures to take, 24hr maintenance, panic setting in. o.o

I read it as we don't need to turn the shots in until the week they are due ^^; Don't feel like you need miss out on patch stuff because you're rushing yourself to get all 12 shots before Thursday.

Thank you so much! Editing has become a bit of a hobby of mine. One of the hardest parts about this contest is that we can't edit anything. It's really made me have to rethink where and what time of day I screenshot things. Also you guys are all incredible. So many drop dead gorgeous characters with innovative screenshot ideas. This is going to be endlessly fun.
