Why should healing not be fun in dungeons?
You spend significantly more time in dungeons than you do in endgame content like Savage and Extremes.
Yeahhh generally speaking, I think there might be something wrong with a certain's role design if your solution to people's woes with it is to shunt them towards certain content...
I am curious if they will change anything with healers in the coming jobchanges. They weren't even mentioned when the question was brought up.
In before 15y Soil/Asylum/Collective cause reasons.
Jokes aside, I'd be surprised if they make any slightest changes to the healers, cause they seemed to believe that nothing's needing any change.
All the other healers are feasting while White Mage looks at its lucid dreaming sandwich and 2 thin air cookies and sighs.
Probably an AST dps buff. Not even kidding.
They mentioned wanting to buff certain dps classes because they weren't doing enough damage for their apm/"complexity". AST is suffering from low popularity, slightly low on rdps and high apm, which fits their criteria for more buffs. Sadly they'll likely ignore the bloat or try to improve the card system.
WHM will probably get a very minor tweak to keep them quiet. Something like Cure III mana reduction or Lucid dreaming buffed by 50 potency again. I'm convinced they don't want to buff WHM because it's popular and if they actually made it a good healer, it would drown out the other 3 in terms of usage. It's much easier to leave WHM in the gutter than actually have to fix it and AST + SCH.
SCH, they might go after Energy drain again. I wouldn't be surprised to see it become 50 potency and Broil 305.
I'm 101% convinced and would bet large sums of gil that we won't get any large, meaningful changes or reworks. Remember, we went through the entirety of ShB, the development of 6.0, a new healer class, another AST rework and it's practically unchanged and in many ways worse. The dev team hasn't changed. Their mindset hasn't changed. Expect more of the same.
i hope they only buff ast's cards and/or divination rather than malefic personally. that way itll still be "worse" in an uncoordinated environment but it will truly shine and reward proper buff alignment.
took them an entire expansion to give us 1.5s cast times, which is something they couldve done in like 5.3. as much as i wished they actually looked at healer classes for more than 5 prolonged seconds, its realistic to expect nothing but slight potency adjustments for the entire expansion.
Being a healer main since ARR days and I miss the impact healing had. Stripping away what makes class unique, focus on DPS with 1 button, even SGE is boring. A class that 'focused' on dealing damage to heal only has 1 ability that actually interacts with Kardia everything else is just shield or heal.
Give us utilities, make our GCD heals worth while, make class mechanics (lilies/cards/fairy/adder) interesting that are used actively. Take a risk and shake up healing. Doing DPS should be a reward and not a requirement.
