I looked at PF right after reading your comment (and posting mine), and all I saw that was remotely close was a V1S PF that reads “parse”, and that’s about it (it’s actually still there, as of this posting). Others are standard “farm”, “farm, fast runs”, “farm, no doubles, know the fight” PFs. That all being said, PF leaders are allowed to make whatever requirements for their parties they want. I could make a “Miqo’te only” V4S farm and be allowed to do so. Such is the Party Finder. I would hardly use PFs advertising for speed runs or “purple or above” as some sort of griefing tactic, though.

You mentioned earlier that nobody should be restricted to do content as long they done it before. I JUST happened to be in a group not a long time ago (posted in this thread earlier) where I've had all the bad players at once and NO bonus.

This was today and the dps died once.. ONCE!!!! and look at the top, the warrior was doing most of the damage and this was a group of full 340. Explain to me why this is happening.

2 times we got enrage 11% and 7%. Just because you done content, doesn't mean you haven't been carried. 4.2k in 04s is simply fine, doing 3.5k isnt however :)

Setting aside the fact I have yet to see more than a handful of PFs ever requiring specific percentages. People are allowed to determine the parameters of their PF however they fancy. If they want specific experience, why is it any of your business? Given how abysmal PF groups have been, I cannot entirely fault people from wanting to restrict those with low percentages since that increases the odds they won't be able to farm. Even if FFlogs were banned entirely, these types of groups would just find another way to restrict players below a certain skill level from entering their parties. Or they would promptly kick players who underperformed. Being "good enough" is okay for some, not for others. That is their prerogative just as it is yours to avoid their parties or create your own.

Self improvement does not exclude people from wanting a certain degree of competency.

Yes and before I made the post, I saw my fifth party this week requesting people with "orange DPS only" - which filled after my post and I saw no reason to take a screenshot (if I did, I'd be sending it to SE, not the forums). So, of course, you looking after my post would mean they are not there. It already filled.

I also stated the stipulation of being able to legitimately clear the content. There are groups that do sell content and can make up for completely lacking an eighth.

That would just be pettiness on your part, though. How is that party hurting you in any way? If you can’t join, make your own. Hell, make one that says “grey DPS welcome :D”. I don’t really understand what the problem is. Why punish players that want high-level play? Look at it this way: at least they’re being open about it, and not kicking people that join it “without reason” if they don’t have the standard/requirements set by the party.

For the record, I wouldn’t be able to join an “orange DPS party”, but I’m not salty about that. There will be plenty more, or I could just take the initiative and make my own.

But those guys never bought content, they all did it with other groups before, performed as bad too. In fact they just was lucky to end up with a group carrying their weight, so I was unlucky to be with them all at once.
If a guy wanted a orange group only, that was mostlikely a speedkill group, which do happen to pop once in a while. Let them dot that, why would you care when they min maxing their gameplay, when you clearly don't have the same achivement as them? I don't know how you perform so I won't go there, but if people want a great speed/log kill, let them. If you want a farm group you can make your own without any rules as you wish for.

—Are people being forced to join those parties?
—Forced to have orange or gold?
—Deprived of the option to create their own parties, or join the overwhelming majority of other parties that don’t ask for FFlogs percentiles?

If any of the above were true, then yes, it would be a problem. But they are not.
These “orange DPS only” parties are hardly the norm. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of one being in PF on Aether, so I would hazard a guess and say that, yes they exist, but are infrequent/a rarity/an oddball PF. While I can’t speak for the other data centers, I would venture to say that it’s probably not the norm over there as well.

There is a potential problem in the community already by demanding people to let you in their PF, with their own rule going againt's yours. Example they want a great sch, I'm not a great one, so why would I join?
Look, I get it, you want to farm and it's a little bit bullshit that you can't join because his/her demands are high, but trust me we all want some decent amount of demand from players and I'm pretty sure you are too. Did the PF mention speedkill? what duty was it? do you remember?

If I'm understanding right (and do correct me if I'm wrong) you're concerned about decent players being excluded from content. Lets say all the Greens and the Blues that won't set any records for speed kills but could kill the boss fine with a full group at their skill level.
I don't see this as a concern due to my experience with Zurvan showing me that "ok" parties do get formed and succeed.

I have seen "parse parties" formed on Primal and I don't join them since I am not confident I can bring the wanted DPS. There are always plenty of parties with no such descriptions up too though.
