I feel your pain. People can judge and think as they please, but please... they should just keep it to themselves unless it's necessary to correct behavior to succeed in a mechanic. Even then it should be mentioned in a neutral and non-hostile way.
Well, I suppose I should share my story.
Queued as White Mage for cutter's cry.
Got in with a Dark, Lancer, and a Bard.
New player message!
Went alright up through the first boss, no one else actually ever said anything.
I said to burn the boss and I'd deal with the adds, regen everyone and sprint like a headless chicken ftw!
Noticed the tank wasn't using much in the way of cooldowns on trash, did cause a wipe due to thinking I could get cleric aero on all the mobs before healing, but didn't quite make it. I'll just be a bit more conservative.
He was also using provoke like an ogcd skill, and I mentioned how it actually works.
Get to the worm boss, end up having to rez a few times, both dps died during it.
Ended up having to rely on regen through the last part of the fight due to no mana, and shroud still on cooldown.
Get through to the chimera, the Bard gets the map completion achievement.
We end up wiping.
Had to rez a couple times, and got caught in too many aoe's while trying to do so.
Don't notice people moving for the voices.
Happen to look at some of the other player's equipment...
The Lancer, yes that's right if you didn't notice it before, had on some war gear, a circlet, and in their chest and leg slots was level 1 vanity gear...
After getting back to the boss gate I decide to say something to the party.
I tell they Lancer they need to equip war gear and not the level 1 vanity gear they're currently wearing.
I also tell the group how to avoid the voices, saying dragons voice (purple eyes) and ram's voice (blue eyes) to describe them.
At this point I also notice that the Lancer is, a lancer. And I say that afterward she should get marauder up to 15 and see her lancer trainer for her job quest.
No one says anything while I restoneskin everyone and reprotect.
After standing around for a bit the tank goes ahead and pulls.
The tank did not move for a single Ram's Voice, he stood in all of them. I compensated by precasting heals for his standing in the stupid.
The lancer got hit by one ram's voice and died. And stayed dead for the rest of the fight because I felt it would be too much of a strain on my mp to keep her up.
The Bard, bless her heart, actually heeded my advice about the voices and didn't get caught by too many of them.
She got my commendation.
I had someone claim I was doing 15 DPS in Levi hm on my Dragoon. Had this moment where I just sort of looked at the chat wondering where the heck he got that number.
Went to Wiping the other day as SCH.. Noticed a vote kick on a DPS seconds before it went through, and was confused that I never got the popup / didn't see that player doing anything wrong. It passed and our tank immediately left, which made me think they planned it.
We got to Ozma and had gotten another tank/DPS, but someone in another alliance pulled, even though we said to wait. Both newcomers were locked out. Surprisingly, we downed it in shot! The cube phase was a major pain in the ass because no one knew who had the beam, so it kept hitting the whole party.
Final boss was a near wipe (people calling for healer LB3s), but we pulled through and took it down. Tankless Ozma though.. Geez.
Sohr Khai, I was tanking on DRK. I'm actually not that good as a tank, I pop my CDs and I hold aggro, no biggie, but I always kinda struggle holding hate, I'm not sure if it's because of my shitty weapon (the i210 one) or if I simply suck.
But this party I had in Sohr Khai was so incredibly bad that I could easily hold aggro while dropping Grit and ignoring my aggro combo - which I felt like having to do because the DPS was so sloooooow.
I don't know much about monks, but this one never had Fists of Fire (or any of their Fist stances) active... the bard used Iron Jaws and Sitewinder without ever applying dots and spent a lot of time standing there doing nothing at all.
The scholar was the worst. Never DPSing at all (which is okay... just annoying, specially if the actual DPS suck), never using Aetherflow, crossclassing Cure(!) and always standing in shit, or at the walls during the second boss, wiping us twice.
When we kicked the scholar, we got a WHM who could at least do mechanics and heal, but... urgh. This awful run took almost 40 minutes ;_;
Guess I'll throw in a story.
Had this one Aurum Vale run trying to get my Summoner to 60.
Tank left after 1 room (no wipe even). We wait for a replacement. We each ask our FCs for someone to come help. A total of 7 people across 3 FCs try. Nobody gets in. 2 are sent to other in-progress parties, rest don't even get one of those to pop up.
Ok, I summon Titan-egi. Titan tanks the whole dungeon like a boss (we do wipe a few times).
We get to the last boss. Scholar says "I need to go" and leaves. The Monk and I sit there. 9 minutes left. White Mage jumps in.
We rush in to the boss room. Titan dies at 20% left. Monk starts tanking. Monk dies around 3%. Add seeds spawn. WHM starts holyspamming and I fester all I can. Boss dies when WHM is almost dead and right after the adds hatch.
Chat is full of "WHOOOOOOOOOO YEAAAAHHH GOOD JOB".
God end.
Just had one that was quite enjoyable, to a degree. We load in and its me (AST), Tank, Ninja and Bard. I say tank cus I don't even recall what she was cus as soon as we load into Aether she "dc's". We wait a minute and decide to try to go on as is. We are aware she is trying to get kicked so we let her sit. We make it all the way to the 2nd node with a ninja tank and note this is about the 15minute mark. She loads back in for all of 30secs and "dc's" again. At this point I was all for finishing as is then kicking her at the end if she tried to finally join us but we ultimately decided to kick her once we got to the Sphinx boss. Asked an FC member to join as Tank and he met us on the elevator. So assuming they check this nice running with you Teriyaki and A'van :3
By the way, I sure hope this is a reportable offense cus its very obvious she was doing this on purpose. Any tank who just DC's at the start cus they don't like the dungeon make it hell for the DPS who have to wait just for the chance to get in, then to be met with a diva tank who is too good for it to just dc to avoid the penalty.
