Wanted to add my support to this, too. I know translating the text from a full JRPG that is also an MMO is a lot of work, but this would open up the game to many, many more players who wish to experience the world of FFXIV. Please consider this.

We just reached more than 5600 Players in FFXIVESP's Spanish Community!
That means that we're getting over 200 new Spanish players every month :o
Thanks for all the support! We'll keep working for this healthy community, deffending the interests of many and making sure Square-Enix listens to us :)

but now the question is how do you appease both south & central american players and european spanish players? i'm all for a spanish localization, but there's similar issues with french canadians and european french localizations
We encourage a mix of everything, since FFXIV has a lot of different zones!
The new Dawntrail zones could have Spanish/Latino mixes, while Eorzea zones could have different accents of Spanish on different zones such as Limsa, Gridania etc...
In English we have lots of different English styles, so it could fit for Spanish/Latino aswell! Same with voice acting :) we're 100% up for it!
Yoshida me gusta mucho la pizza con piña así que por favor traduce el juego
Would love to have XIV in Spanish.
Thank you so much for taking the initiative! I didn't even know there was such a big spanish community, many of my friends won't play the game because it doesn't have a spanish translation :'( Hopefully our voices will be heard! Saludos desde Chile :D!!
Totally! It has been done before too, like Final Fantasy IX, at least in spain the translation has a lot of different accents from all spanish speaking countries!
Ruby for example talks like someone for Argentina, Marcus uses something called "ceceo" wich means he uses the letter Z a lot while speaking, Cinna is more like from Andalucia... etc.
It can totally be possible!
As a fan I love the game, but sometimes I felt I was missing details, and that is a thing that a lot of friends with less english level or any patience for so many hours of intense conversations in english, make them avoid this great game.
Please, at least the text, that would be enough.
