Someone let the barricades break on twitter stuff.
Well to be fair that pic is from an outdated no longer current page from FFXIV where that description of childlike countenance is found nowhere else and cherrypicked specifically by people trying to infantilize lalafells, as the population of the players when that game was current was slim-to-none, ARR was the LAST update that webpage received. So, no ninja, no machinist, no dark knight, no astrologian, no samurai, no dancer, no gunbreaker, no sage, no reaper, no vieras, no hrothgar, no AU RA. So if this page is true and lalafells are kids, then this page is true and we need to delete dragons bunnies and lions for being non-canonical because they dont exist in eorzea as playable races.
Now put me in my special boy chair and give me my appy slices and chicken tendies.
nice meltdown
The ironic part is that the Lalafell Lifter was designed to accommodate other races, not lalafell. When a lalafell uses it, it still looks like you're sitting in a chair that was designed for a bigger race to sit in.
Players wouldn't be as upset as they are if they had also included all the other furniture from Tomra, that's already in the game, that would take zero effort on the devs' part to let us use in our houses.
As a representative of the EU Data Centre Chaos, I am going to be honest with you, in my own humble opinion without being sentimental of course, without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in distinctive perspective, I would like to say I have nothing to say.
And that's totally fine. I think the majority of the community would agree with that sentiment.
The problem becomes that sentiment being used as a justification in treating Lalafell players poorly or limiting their access to activities enjoyed by players of other races.
I agree that other Lalafell furniture would be awesome to have. Beds, tables, small chairs; a private Lalafell corner would be cool in a house. When it comes to this lifter, I think it's pretty funny. I personally don't think the players whose houses I visit would make a Lalafell lifter joke and mean it malevolently. On the contrary, they spent time specifically to decorate their house with a piece of furniture specially designed for Lalafells, probably only to make such a joke -- we're living rent-free in their heads! I would argue to own our size and take jokes about it lightheartedly; after all, we know why we chose our race. It was not because it's big. If there's actual toxic behaviour, we can always tell the player, or report and disengage.
