im not tranfering, but im often just cliking the lodestone to check for the hell of it

so far, what i have predicted is happening, the sevrers are staying open longer each time spots open due to less people wanting to transfer due to already having gotten theirs in

just check back now and then and youll get it, its getting there

they still are right now

probly have another update on them soon too and others will open, its slowing down for sure on who needs to transfer still

Very worried that me and my wife won't get our 1st choice.

Also worried that if I pick a server, then it will fill up and I won't be able to move my wife in time ><

I hate this system, sorry but I wish SE's 1st plan was happening right now......

with the first option you would be likely be having the same issue honestly. these caps are based on active players so if you weren't one of the first to put in for the move you were just as likely to get left out. the only difference it would be entire servers split because nobody wants to fill ragnarok instead of a few ls's being split.

I would have hoped tho, that they would have set the limits higher, meaning more people could freely chose the server they wanted.

With option 1 they could have set each limit @ 15% of users and still have got good population in each.

With this option it seems we have to wait until someone moves and frees space up.

I just want to get the server 1 or 2 of my choice and be able to move with my wife!

well looks like my friends that stopped playing before are coming back for this update, and are staying on my server, so I guess I will too.

Kind of wish SE would have handled this a bit better, but what do you expect when they where going with the better option before, and people (without even researching all the good and bad) bitched about it, we got option 2 and people need to deal with it.

Luckily, we didn't see what would've happened if they'd gone forth with the original plan. So you can keep thinking it would be "better." :]

here's the issue though. there's 9 global servers and 1 that they want the eu population to go to. by the looks of which server has stayed open they want server 10 to be just as populated as the other 9 are. it will never happen in this system or the other because jp and english players are skiddish about going to a server that is designated for another language.

let's give just some off the wall numbers, but it's just to show a point. once again these are just numbers to show a point not stating these are actual player numbers

their original method there's 30k people
-there's 10 servers so we need 3k people per server.
-500 go to ragnarok because they are the german/french players
-that server still needs 2500 more players to finish populating it.
-then the other 9 servers need room for 29500 players and only have room for 27000

method now is the same way with 30k people except
-server cap 3000
-they merged servers and the merge pushed over the cap to keep the community together.
-the merged servers have 3000+, but se did that to keep the groups together
-ragnarok gets the same 500 people, but those other 2500 players are still with their original servers so are not forced there.
-to have a chance to move into those servers you would have to wait for those numbers to drop below cap

in both methods you have the same number of people that cannot get to their server they wish to go to because the servers are not evenly distributed due to the low population of ragnarok.

the difference in the methods are though that the groups are not the same ones having issues. in one method the groups having issues are the members of the community that wish to stay with the players on their server they have played with for over a year. the other method is the group that wishes to leave their community. since by merging the servers they kept the communities together even if it pushed the numbers over the cap the second method actually helps more people. with the original method you could have not gone above cap with just the free merge.

this is my speculation on the matter so i don't know for sure. my feeling is the reason people cannot transfer within the 9 merged servers is because the number of players cap was he took the number of active players and divided them by 10 give or take a few. the problem is unless server 10 gets just as populated as the rest of the servers i think the problem would be the same regardless of the method. by the constant o by ragnarok you can tell it is nowhere near to the active player cap se has set in place.

this could also explain why the other 9 are manually getting updated. they could(not saying are, but could) be gradually increasing the cap on the other 9 servers slowly to keep around the same number of active players on each of those since it's became apparent that server 10 is not going to fill.

no, this is where people should have researched. i still say the option we have now is vastly better than the original method. unless you can show me any possible way you think the original method would have worked out better. i've put into detail why i think this method is better.
