Namingway Card items?

Heck even Minecraft is implementing this now.

I also fully support and request this feature.

I'm just echoing other responses to add my support. Now that we can purchase Phials of Fantasia... it's time we are able to purchase the ability to change our character name along with it.

Thumbs up to this, so simple yet we still don't have one to go along with the Fantasia.

Eh so what if some troll go change his name, if hes on my black list he's staying there.

Would love to have this either added to Fantasia or by itself.

I would like to have a name change as well. After seeing so many people with the name "Noctis" I just would like to have it change.

I dont know if i really want people to be able to change their names...

I can understand people would like to change their names, but you should have thought about your character more when you made it. Not considdered it disposable like the WoW crowd does.

I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for someone who named their character something degorative or plain insulting, or even something they more than realized would be stupid and now that they find out that they like the game and would like to play it seriously, they want to change their name...

Zero sympathy. If they care so much, they can always make a new character. But they dont, do they.

Outside of the whole Blacklist and Guild chest stealing, atleast with Phantasia i know that if i see a female miqo'te run around called "Steve Blueballs", it would be hilarious for a minute but i'd know to avoid them.

If this gets implemented and that same miqo'te is suddenly called "Buttercup Prettyflower", yeah... :/

Square should grant a free one-time name change to all characters named Lannister or Stark. :lol: I like Game of Thrones as much as the next guy but it's ridiculous out there.

I do believe we should get ONE *purchasable* name change.
Like how there's a limit of 9 Fantasia potions. One name change would be good. I personally want to change my last name lol.

If people want to change their name THAT Badly after the one purchase, change servers, make a character on your original server with the same name, and transfer back. And you can change it. Pricey. But hey.

I would like to change my name please :). I'll pay real life money.

I'd do the server thing but I don't want to lose my friends list and FC and LS and stuff.

But more on point, As a lore junky, I would like the option to change my name in the event a more superior race than Roegadyn appears in the future. One so i can have fun playing with name lore all over again and two because The Great Sylbhar would definitely disown his son for changing races and disgracing the majestic Roegadyn people.

So basically you want no one to be able to change their name (which you can actually do for a 36$(Two Server Xfers) fee or by burning your character restoration) based on how angry you are that you've run into a few guys named Fourtwenty Blazeit? So we all have to suffer so these people who aren't going to change their names anyway, can't possibly change their mind and want to be more serious about the game? Honestly there's absolutely no reason for this to not be put in. I shouldn't have to keep a female name if I want to fantasia to a male character and vice versa. I still wanna Fantasia a gender change but a name like King doesn't transfer well.

I'd like to add my 2 cents in and agree to have a name changing option.

I agree to have a name changing option with Namingway.

they have already stated some time ago that they were going to add the option to change your character name. it's just a matter of time.

also i only read a few pages. but another good use for name changing is when people use names like i got. when you use a non-original name like something from a TV show or anime. your character appearance customization options are limited. you always want to theme your character after the TV character.

not that i would ever want to change my characters name :D

So how many pages before this becomes a thing?

Because I have characters I'd like to recustomize, but then their names wouldn't fit at all.

I actually quit playing for a few months 'cause I was so unhappy with my character, and couldn't re-customise it for this reason!

I think this is a bad idea.

Let's just say a guy begins to hack, you catch him and he knows hes been caught and decides to change his name.

A person rips off a free company for everything and changes name.

cause if this is instant name changing then I can see the abuse of this name changing card.

This argument is dumb. A name change is not a get out of jail free card. In every other game where this is a thing, friends and blacklists remain even after the name is changed.

If an account gets phished by gold farmers, they're not going to bother wasting money changing names, they just grind out as much money as fast as possible to transfer before they're caught.

People who change their name to try to escape a rep, meanwhile, always get outed sooner or later.

I completely agree! I had recently used Fantasia potion to remake the character but I wish I could change the name to to suit it better. Please, Square Enix, allow name changes! That really would be nice.

How prevalent do you think malicious hacking is in this game? Phishers just get into your account to steal your gil and get out. They don't "mess around with your Free Company" and then server change where they can do it all over again. How many people have legitimate uses for a name change versus the people who would somehow "abuse" it when hacking? Also customer service has changed from 10 years ago and they can restore lost gil and items when hacking has been found, I don't know if you realize this.

You people come in here with the same dumb arguments and every time other people disprove it, some with more experience in game design, you just ignore them and go NANANANA CAN'T HEAR YOU.

Why are you so stuck on letting good people suffer just because of a few bad ones? Do you seriously only care about yourself? Some are deeply unhappy about their names, but you just go "lol your fault suck it up babies" all the while "wah I'm scared the big bad trolls will change their name and I won't be able to hate them forever". The bad ones don't even get anything substantial out of it. Blacklists won't disappear. Logs of their potential thefts, phishing, hacking, whatever, also don't disappear.

The only person that name changes affect are the people who desire them, and you're giving them all the middle finger by saying they don't have a right to feel comfortable / happy with their own toon - mature, considering you keep claiming this is for the sake of justice or some such nonsense.

can we have an answer on this topic Devs, please?

If money is the problem then make is something you buy. $10 - $20 for a name change far outweighs the cost's unless you have some old cheap servers that collapse when something is tweaked.

In fact I think this could raise revenue, the only question is if it can be the done with the current state of the servers.

This hasn't yet happened and it's been going on for this long? Yeesh. I wanted to swap from Moon to Sun while maintaining my Miqo'tedom but it ain't gonna cut it if I can't change my name no matter how subtle the change has to be. I still used a fantasia out of stubbornness to look sort of like how I wanted to look now... however disgruntled as I was (I support making it a tag on to those potions rather than a distinct item). It can't be that hard to implement its functionality.

I can't wait change my name ruby is not really a guy name :(
