Oy vey... I've got all the emails, I have the first beta email telling me I am part of the beta, and to follow these steps blah blah, WITH NO CODE IN THE EMAIL
I have contacted support on every single phase, and they send me the same email with the schedule only with NO CODES I am not some ignorant child, I know what an email is, I know what a beta is. You all can try and back up SE as much as you want, it won't change the fact that MANY are having a multitude of issues with these betas.
I like how me and some of my friends who have played 1.0 and bought FFXIII for PS3 haven't received any codes. However, friends of ours who haven't even touched 1.0 are getting beta codes for PS3 or PC. Bravo SE!
Your issue is completely different from 99.99% of every other person here then.
Also, don't go off the hilt when you make a very generalized post that lacks information that would obviously change the way someone would reply to you (i.e. your original beta acceptance email had no code) - just because you don't list all the facts doesn't give you a license to have an attitude.
I missed my original Beta accept email, got deleted in a junk folder. I was able to see the code at work (mine had a code) but it had been deleted automatically by the time I got home to register unfortunately. I continued to receive every single Beta test update for every phase (which had no codes) which is why I summed up that you missed your original as well.
Since you still have your email, why don't you post it here since the NDA is lifted? I'd like to see what's in the spot where the registration code is supposed to be.
I was very clear on my issue, if you can't interpret my generalizations of the situation, and the info I clearly stated, then that really isn't my problem. I am not going to sit here and type you a book, so you can understand my situation... It's very simple, I have no BETA key like many other people, even though they have been told they would receive one, it's just that simple.
This was the top half of the email, anything below was blah blah, don't give away key, confidential obligations etc. etc.

FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test Registration Code

Where a key should have been there was NOTHING.
And everytime I contact them about it they send me this

I have 3 beta 2 phase titled schedules. Hope that this wall of text is enough information for you to understand my situation, which is not far off from MANY other people.
Also, I am done with this post it's gone off topic anyways, and it will not get a response. Good luck to all who have still not received their codes, whether it be since phase 1, or phase 3.
I never said I didn't understand. You excluded information from your original post, in fact your first forum post since you registered in March 2013 - you said you got no code in an email. I simply pointed out you may have missed the original, which I already explained my reasoning for above, which apparently drove you stark raving mad.
If you can't understand why your issue is different then the original reason and interpretation of this post then nothing else really needs to be said.
Failed beta day 1 is a fail...
Was told we'd get in on the 14th, it did not happen..
People can candy coat this all they want but this was pretty short sighted on SE's part imo.
Day 1 beta is where you start getting faith back, from the people you pissed off and instead we have more problems...
/Thread...
Back to playing the waiting game...
Lucky them....
Do you always base your facts on speculation?
For every one of you on these forums, talking about 10 people are playing for every one who didn't
get in, there are 12 purple dinosaurs who lost their teeth today..
See I can make pointless statements too.
We still don't have beta access and that is the point..
That's a real fact..
Greetings,
We've been investigating the issue throughout the day, so I apologize for the delay in getting a response for you.
There are a few things I'd like you to confirm (even though some are obvious) just to be sure:The email is being sent from noreply@xmail.square-enix.com if you can search for that in your email as well.
- Check your email spam filter to ensure it wasn't caught there
- Confirm that the email address registered on your Square Enix account "E-mail address 1" is up to date as this is where we delivered the notification. If this is out of date, you will need to contact the Support Center.
If you were unable to locate the email, we request that you contact the Support Center so that they can assist you personally. I'm extremely sorry that this may impact your ability to play during this weekend's test and we're continuing to investigate the issue and will report back as soon as we have more details to share.
I wish contacting support was an option, for 5 hours today I spent refreshing my chat support waiting out a queue of 70+ people each time to receive this msg.
"Status: Canceled There are no agents available to chat with you right now. Please try again later."
So although your information is appreciated, it doesn't help anyone really. I would have rather not got this updated post, it just makes people more angry.(unless your hanging off SE's you know what) *Cough* *Cough*
So, there is no issue with the servers or anything... they just forgot to send out beta keys to a large number of people? I'm not sure I understand what to make of all this.
Well, to the point of sounding sour about the whole ordeal, SE certainly has my primary email address and has no problem spamming my inbox with updates about ARR but of course they have trouble delivering a promised service. I'm not coming from the point of common entitlement but rather that of "SE has said they would deliver on this and they didn't." Kind of frustrating for someone who bought the CE on launch and played until the last day...
I'm a little disappointed. I have beta 3 access on pc (at least i think i do..) but i never received a ps3 beta key or any email for access to the ps3 beta test. were these not sent out yet? would love to know.. I even have a FF13 code , and was told that i would get priority for ps3 testing X_x.
Really would love to test out how the game plays on the ps3 version; since if i like it i was going to pick up the CE ps3 version :|
Yo this guy @MasterRyu has a beta code for pc but he's disappointed he doesn't have one for ps3 when a crap load of us 1.0 players still got nothing....this guy....this freakin guy up here unbelievable :P
I have checked both my regular inbox and spam folders since Phase One Beta, and I have not yet received any email from Square Enix stating that I have been accepted into the Beta. My e-mail is also the correct one.
Seeing as this is Phase 3 now, I don't think this is acceptable at all considering it was promised that all 1.0 players would be allowed into Beta Phase 3 I find it pretty disappointing how people on my PSN friends list who never touched 1.0 or even played Final Fantasy XIII were able to get a code so easily by watching that FFXIV trailer from the PSN store. I may not have played 1.0 very long in comparison to other players on these boards, however, I definitely know when BS is seen. And right now, I am definitely seeing it on Square Enix's poor Phase 3 management and Beta key generation process for existing 1.0 players.
One thing I definitely do not understand is why Square Enix insisted that any 1.0 account players need a Beta key code for Phase 3 anyways. Were we not supposed to be allowed inside Beta Phase 3 just for playing 1.0 according to the roadmap regardless? Now, it's apparently our fault if it randomly ends up in our email's spam folders. Or, now we have to contact Square Enix Customer Support and hopefully we get a response from a poor CRM system. All I can say is that I definitely can sympathize with a lot of the 1.0 players who have not received anything yet.
This is a pretty big slap to 1.0 players' faces especially when those who never played/tried the original FFXIV or never bought Final Fantasy XIII easily got codes. This is also not about player entitlement either. This is about not receiving anything based on what was promised months ago that has been clearly listed by the DEV team and is also shown in writing inside their FFXIV ARR Roadmap.
In the future, it is probably better if you don't give a date that everyone looks forward to (particularly any 1.0 players), only to disappoint and infuriate many players because of your inability to test if your Beta Key Generation Process works properly - clearly it didn't based on the technical issues I have read the other day.
What a great way to get people to come back to Final Fantasy XIV.
Agreed, slap in the face.
But don't tell the fanboys that.
They are all up in arms, about how we should be happy about getting screwed..
I paid to play 1.0.
Same email since FFXI.
I get SE spam all the time and their email is listed as "safe" by me..
Ball officially dropped imo..
*Day 2 now...
Just activate 1.0 accounts so we can log in. They obviously are being acknowledged by the system because signing into the Beta site gives an account was canceled message. Why is this so hard.
The new Dev team is great but same old blundering NA SE CS.
This is troubling because most the company's that are serious now in the MMO's have learned one thing for sure, being in touch and current with the player base. This is obviously the same old 2002+ SE NA that XI players have reluctantly had to deal with forever.
We get that you are more interested in those potential customers; you already have and spent our money.
But the least you could do with the 1.0 people is keep them updated throughout the day.
You don't think thats fair to ask for?
It shows you care... Instead you want us to wait in 45min-1hr phone calls that get disconnected 1/2 way in...
I mean common; most these people still have the bad taste in their mouths, what gives?
Ill tell you what gives, they have so many people bottle necking Q that it was causing server issues. And all those players are PS3, and new players to the game period who all got access over us... They cant just start mass sending us keys when its already overloaded. And this is what I mean by their typical B S. They don't keep us updated because they are drowning in screw ups...
Ps3 players got a Key mishap update but we did not...
You sent us the freaking emails days ahead of Beta... The keys should have been sent then; obviously because well look what happened. Telling us its 2 days in and nothing yet is redundant. They had the time from before and the time between mails; they obviously already had a plan and something went wrong. Just tell us...
Fanbois going to tell us to give it some time; K 24 hours, and now were going on the next 24 hours already, with cryptic and non answers still. Please again stop talking like you have special inside info or telling us to wait because we have waited for years. They are NOT Gating people in, obviously invites went random and over 1.0rs, they did say ALL 1.0 players AND they said in first update, getting all 1.0 ERs in. You have all been wrong; please sit down and shut it. Many of us (not me) have not waited at all; they sent invites and these people say Ok I've heard good things, gonna give it a try and then receive an immediate deja vu Slap to the face...
You sound just like the tards at launch and a month in saying it will all be ok... Its Deja vu all over as far as CS.
Btw another ignorant point coming from you white knights is well we should have gotten Legacy then.
FYI (all the more reason they have a right to rage) subs played months and months into XIV paying.
The Legacy tracking crap only started AFTER the subs restarted. There was even a period where XIV was going to be shut down period. I paid all the money upfront myself in end to get flagged but during one of the problem times caused an issue and I did not receive Legacy; they said they will fix at some point before live (still nothing from them).
So I have already been tolerant. Im just saying people payed more then just box and got screwed. All subs should have had Legacy... But at the moment anyone who originally bought this game is getting the shaft right now over people who have not paid a dime... Most the legacy holders paid 3 months post f2p lol and were only originally subbed the first 1 or 2 months. Like I said SE NA have always been retards. And lost in translation has never been an acceptable excuse.
These guys are tech the first and last line with the costumers. They reset the Dev team and did an overhaul of SE period. Yet apparently we missed a spot. If these guys don't get it together it wont be the release it could be. So input like this is meant in concern not out of pure rage or intolerance. I know a CR or CM takes this personal and it looks like an attack but its aimed at infrastructure not people. CS is their JOB lol... This was not handled right imo, at this point I see it as someone goofed and the dominoes just started falling before ready. Btw PR is part of CS so don't give me some they are not CS crap. Matter of fact only 1.0 people should be posting here at all.
I am also a legacy 1.0 member that has never received an email with a beta code. I have sent two tickets in so far about this but haven't received anything back other than the automatic reply that they got it. This is very frustrating.
It might be more effective to simply call them by phone at 1 - (858) - 790 - 7529. This is the NA SE Support Center number. Unfortunately, it is only available Monday through Friday and I doubt anyone is working on the weekend over there. Still, I wouldn't expect any kind of response via email, ticket, or anything else. Direct line of communication is the only thing that works imo.
My ticket finally got through (sent it before I read this thread and left my previous comment). They apologized and presented me with a code. A very kind letter.
It's true that companies need to work on their communication regarding big factors. They updated their twitter account, but didn't give away too much information. I'm just glad they post at least something.
I hope that all you guys who are still waiting for their code will receive it soon.
Just wanna add that, i never got another beta code, but i was in phase 1 (so i just tried logging in and i think* i'm in the beta) at least, if this stupid updater would work. There are a ton of people being locked out of the game on ps3/pc even if you do have a code because their updater is failing to work for the last 48 hours....
sigh; extremely frustrating, Thanks for the awesome weekend 14 team :/
Im a 1.0 member got code first day but sold my pc =( hoping for ps3 code to come in...
Been a 1.0 player, haven't recieved a code either, my girlfriend didnt recieve one either also 1.0, both CE editions.
I sent an email to SE
Contact Time : 15/06/2013 09:49 CEST
So thats about 8,5 hours ago.
I was wondering how long your tickets where in queue, especially from the EU region.
Hope this gets resolved soon and everyone can atleast play a day.
Yeah I sent a ticket yesterday and still Nada, no reply nothing. As an origional CE 1.0 player i feel kinda boned :p. That said im a fanboi and such so i'm not going anywhere but it still makes me a sad panda.

High Contact Volume for the SQUARE ENIX Support Center 2013/06/14 09:00 from SQUARE ENIX Support Center
The SQUARE ENIX Support Center is currently experiencing a high contact volume due to the start of the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Test Phase 3. Because of this, customers that contact us through Phone, Chat or Tickets will experience an extremely longer wait time than expected to speak with an agent. We recommend reviewing our knowledge base, visiting the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum, or trying to contact us later in the day.
We sincerely apologize about the delay and appreciate your understanding as we make every attempt to assist everyone as fast as possible.

I asked help to support this morning,no answer all the day. Nice service, but the funny part is that it's you that ask us to request help to support. Legacy member, collector's edition for pc, online since september 2010 and still no code for ps3 requested ages ago,and the worst thing,no one cares of us answering on our requests of help via e-mail.
I concur. And, while I appreciate the staff on here (and acknowledge there is nothing they can do to fix the situation) it would be nice to get some more news on this. Maybe it is because I'm older now but I keep feeling like SE may not deserve my money or my loyalty as a customer - especially since it appears that this is going to be a one-way street.
I'm not bashing Yoshida or the amazing staff - I'm just voicing my concern that SE is becoming more and more like other companies out there with awful reputations.
Um, guys. I understand you're disappointed and wanted to play this weekend, but... remember that this is a beta test. Beta, as in "not production quality" and test, as in "the purpose is for them to be able to test the game". It sucks that there was a snafu with the codes getting sent out and that not everyone is able to get on right now, but let's act like adults here. When something blows up like this that affects a ton of people it's going to take a while to get through everyone. No company's customer service department has enough reps to talk to a large percentage of their customers all at once. Part of the point of having a test is to make sure an issue this widespread doesn't actually happen when the game launches.
Just remember, we can't even play our 1.0 characters this weekend, there'll probably be another test soon, and all of this is getting wiped anyway. This is all just minor stuff in the grand scheme of things; the true Demon's Souls starts... err, I mean the real ARR starts in a couple months and it going to be awesome.
I bet you get an invite Monday morning at 9:26 am
