Prob not the answer people were looking for, but an answer nonetheless.

Well I happily pre-ordered a PC CE because I want the physical goodies as well as the 6 pre-order/CE in-game items.
I'm now hearing that apparently that won't do the trick. I think it will cover the 2 pre-order in-game items (although that's not yet crystal clear to me!), but sounds like NOT the CE in-game items (because they cannot be applied to your 1.0 account).
What it sounds like is I'd have to keep this pre-order (and hopefully get the in-game preorder things) and later order the digital upgrade (to get the 4 CE in-game items).
A suggested alternative is to instead order the PS3 CE because I can then tie that to my existing 1.0 account. However, I don't know if I would have to actually use the PS3 and have a Sony Account to actually make that connection to my 1.0 account. I haven't touched my PS3 in ages, I think its one of the originals that may not even work with this game (it is backwards compatible) and it isn't online and I don't think I have a Sony account on it. Plus .... the PC CE should work!! >.<
/really annoyed
I hope those who pre-ordered from third party retailers and did not got the pre-order codes, specially in EU, as the EU SE store doe snot offer physical copies of ARR, get an official answer about this topic soon, too.
I see I'm not the first to suggest that if only SE had offered the CE upgrade for pre-order, it could have been advantageous to most parties, including SE.
On a positive note, at least you found out before SE ran out of Early Access slots. ("Yay, we can get pre-order status! Boo, still no Early Access.")
Commiserations,
So if I do the ff 14 1.0 account upgrade to FF ARR whatever edition. I can get the bonus for $20?
