There are only five hours left in Japan until it becomes the 8th, so I'm assuming it will be relatively soon.

Perhaps they are making sure that no potential players in the islands would be missing out :)

Have you set your zone to the correct one. I checked it, when I select the German flag it links to the German version, to English when I select my correct zone for English.

Looks like they weren't able to finish the benchmark on time... The reason they took longer than normal was probably because they tried finishing the benchmark for the 7th... Probably a bug was found that is taking some time to fix...

"Before Beta" is what was said, if I recall correctly. People just assumed that the big event for the 7th would be the benchmark. Nothing was specifically stated about the exact date of said benchmark.

Although given how late the beta application was it is likely they were working on the benchmark... that or the translation for the other languages beta application took longer than usual... Or I might be wrong... I don't remember if they release info at 5 AM EST or 6 AM usually...

Yeah, this was definitely a very late update, so who knows.

Although, "before beta" is extremely vague (in usual SE fashion). It could mean the day before beta for all we know.

all in all it was definitely worth the all day wait :o

They don't have region discriminating policies. The reason they started with for phase 1 and 2 for the alpha test is because those were the most crucial phases to stabilizing the game. They needed reports and needed to fix the major errors as soon as they could and since most of the actual developers that made the game only know how to speak japanese, it would quicken the error solving rather than having to wait for it to be translated for them.

You shouldn't have to worry about that now since those errors are probably already fixed and if they wanted Japanese players only then they wouldn't have released the application in other languages and would have forced log in to ensure they are from the right region...

In the end this announcement turned out to be quite disappointing. I was expecting a benchmark to play around with.

We already went through all this. The beta test will not come any sooner because they opened applications. We already knew the timeframes for testing phases and we already knew that Legacy people are in it from Phase 1.

I feel bad for those of you who were actually staying up/waiting for this announcement. I forgot about this date until today.
