I was flipping through my XIV picture album today, thinking about what to post. I considered the first screenshot I ever took, one of the last pictures we took as a LS, and various events in between, but even though I have several pictures more eye-catching, more colorful, or more exciting, in the end I'm going to have to go with one that really captures my best experience in Final Fantasy XIV 1.0.

Clearing The Raven, Nevermore with four days to spare was definitely my fondest memory from this game (to save space in this thread, full story for this picture is over here). When I was organizing this undertaking, we weren't sure how we'd fare without relic weapons, without triple melds, without Darklight armor, and without the tank having a mic to talk on mumble (^^;), but we pulled it off. Learning the fight was challenging and we got frustrated sometimes, but everyone was so enthusiastic and encouraging, we didn't give up, and in the end it was worth every wipe.

After probably 60 to 70 fights with my main linkshell we finally gave up hope on beating Garuda and decided to stop our static. Soon after I joined the linkshell in this picture and after two nights of hard work, constructive criticism and completely re-learning this heck of a fight I finally got those 5 achievement points I had been striving for. Unfortunately for this specific win all I received was those 5 points and 2 lovely totems but my only "goal" before 2.0 was to beat the bird b!@#$ and by God we did it, I will never forget this fight or the countless attempts and hours spent trying to take her down. And if you can't tell from the image we came pretty close to wiping again that night, this was actually the 3rd fight of the night and the previous attempts we were around 10% left, luckily a last ditch Burst got the win!

A Reprieve from Battle

I didnt manage to post my Story for the above picture number # 121

I was minding my business one day taking a stroll through Uldah, Not really being a fan of Uldah I wanted to be in and out as quick as possible. I made it to the market wards in good time, everything was going swell, I got an awesome piece of equipment for a very good price. So......

Feeling chuffed with myself I decided to parade around in my pants as one does when they are very excited about something. I was merrily prancing in the street lion king style when all of a sudden I am pounced on by a cat burglar.

I wake up moments later to find all my equipment and money gone and I am surrounded by feline fiends !!!!.

So whats a girl to do.........GET EVEN !!!!

So what happen next........

I would like to say I won and that I walked away unscathed after a brutal battle. However, I cant I was beaten to a pulp and left for dead even the lallafels joined in on the beating.

To this day I avoid Uldah and the hooligans that live in those scary streets !!

Anyways, I now live a happy life as a pirate :) .

Becoming a Dragoon:
This is the day Seraphim came out in droves to unlock the ancient arts. A group of our finest Lancers set out to master the art of the Dragoon. Never did we expect to come into contact with the power of Nidhogg, Lord of the Dragons. To the best of my knowledge, we were among the first adventurers in Eorzea to be awarded the gifts of the Dragoon. With us stood two newly appointed Seraphim Paladin who aided us in our quest. One poor soul was wounded in battle, and retired to the Lancer's guild to recover and thus not present in this picture.

Getting ready to fight Ifrit when it was still being figured out and was considered difficult, had a really nice desperado shot with the Tricorne and the Aetherial Gate. just all around awesome memory/screenshot

I have quite a few memorable moments, dating back into my Archer the budding days of 1.0. However, as excitement builds to the end of an era... I find the remaining community joining together to defend ourselves against tyranny one of the greatest experiences I have had in version 1.0.

Way back before jobs and hamlets and gentlemen heroes, my LS Team Derp decided to go after Queen Bolete and it didn't go so well. This was the end result of a Hydra Whip... stuck head-first right into the wall. You might say "physics" but I say she whipped me good.

This screenshot is from a simpler time... when I had a crappy video card that I ended up giving to someone else, so please pardon the... "lack of definition".

I think this screenshot is from February 2011, when there wasn't much to do as far as content goes. The only active LS I had was Fated Children. Oinari and Decimus don't play on the server anymore, I don't think. I haven't seem them in a long time.

Me and a few others (Andi Sorell, Decimus, Oinari, Jaelyn Saratova, Xander King) decided to go on an adventure to Mor Dhona since none of us had been there. We spent a good chunk of time wiping to the birds near Bluefog and essentially zerging our way up there, but it was fun... we ran out of anima, so we really were hoping we wouldn't get stuck near Bluefog were since a good chunk of us weren't high level at the time... but we finally managed to get there.

Brucey Bangbang ended up teleporting to an area close to where we were and acted as our naked tour guide. I don't remember how many times we died, but we finally got a good chunk of the aetherytes and this photo before we called it a night.

I wish I didn't lose my other photos, there were some of us sitting at the camps near the terrifyingly high-level mobs. I miss playing with a lot of these guys and I hope they come back for 2.0.

Was so hard to choose, but I this one is with friends trying to take on the bad moogles.

After Jobs were introduced I was running 2 man Toto-rak runs from grand company seals. Whilst waiting for my partner to activate the magitek device I noticed how beautiful my character looked in the light from the magitek barrier and couldn't resist taking a screenshot.

The Dzemael Darkhold was the first real foray we all got to take into "endgame" content in FFXIV. I remember how excited my friends and I were to try out the newly reformed battle system and delve into the game's very first dungeon. We spent hours, and hours, and hours learning the boss fights. After many nights of bashing our heads into the Deepvoid Slave, we finally managed to bring him down and I ended up with a shiny new set of scale mail.

Eventually, we made it all the way to Batraal. I managed to take a few screenshots during the excitement as we finally confronted him. This ended up being one of my favorites. It brings back many memories of that triumph after slaving away for so long to reach him. That first taste kept me coming back for more as FFXIV evolved over the coming year.

Waaaay back Day One of Open Beta and trying to get as close to Ishgard as possible cause it looked so amazing, and the build up of walking up the road in Coerthas to see it for the 1st time...

Back in 2011 before Dalamud became a real issue. The people of Eorzea where carefree and enjoyed some entertainment. So after helping the bomb make to hamlet, my fellow LS mates and I decided to put on a dancing show for Ul’dah. We stood in Ul’dah for a good 2 hours, No lie. Just dancing. Enjoy this picture of a more peaceful time in Eorzea history. And let’s hope in ARR we have much more to dance about.
