That doesn't really work here. If someone was getting super mad over a football game and calling the players spineless I would reply with the fact that it is indeed just a game. There are plenty of real world events to get super mad over.

I think when certain terms and attitudes are thrown about, it's not hard to make the logical assumption that someone is way too emotionally invested in something.

If you're not, then you're a very detached person, or exaggerating for the sake of being crass.
