GARUDA New BLM Burn

Our LS has been trying this method now for two nights.While we have yet to be succesful we are getting close but seem to be having some issues with the plumes.

Although we do need to focus on keeping two towers up as we have had enough rocks in total up its just not on two pillars and I think that is where we are going wrong.

Any chance you could share one of your brd and Blm gear setup? So far the closest we have come is 15% on her and hopefully our first win soon.

I've been trying for past 2 days also with this strat and having same issue >_< Well..we managed to get past the 2hr (But often times 2-3 people die from it for some reaosn..) by having the bards do their WS standing bit differently. Can't remember how off the top of my head. I have a feeling we will succeed tonight :o

Not sure if you are doing this, but is a BRD using Battle Voice right before her 2hr? I know that's what we do, then have all blm use their own Sanguine Rite.

Yes we use the battle voice and rampart >< everyone usually has full hp before 2hr as well :)

when i do bard on this fight i bring throwing items to build up tp. i pretty much just do light shot / throw and get 3000 tp. then when she spits out the feathers i wait for them all to gather around the tower im in charge of and just hit rain of death. it one shots them all. after the 3rd jump you have to do 1 rain of death, then she'll spit out another 2 waves. you have to go back and build up 3000 tp again in between waves. also save ur barrage in case there is a stray single feather that you need to 1 shot.

also, sometimes there are just too many plumes and 2 bards cant do it. so theres gonna be some wipes. but as long as the bards are geared enough to one shot each round of plumes with 1 rain of death then it should be ok.

This fight is very taxing on the brds, it takes some practice. But when your brds get good at it they can take it a long way. Just gotta make sure you burn her down fast after that ^^

So we finally got this strategy down with our LS and we are progressing nicely. I gotta say this took a long time to get down but it also got our LS doing things again especially gear wise and now we are all really nicely geared for future challenges. Lots of hard work but it is finally paying off and we are pretty consistent with our runs now. Finally got my first Garuda weapon and it was well earned I am glad I waited and earned it.

Its going to sting when they make this fight easier and/or change the way to acquire the weapons that doesnt require the same level of play it does now...

If the BLM's are geared nicely you only need 3 of them and can use a 2nd WAR or DRG instead, makes life of BRDs way easier and you still get her down.

doesn't really require a high level of play to begin with, compared to other MMOs.

Only seems this way because FFXIV's player base is so small.

This fight is only a challenge if you dress yourself in the prettiest colors and have trouble counting to potato.

Well some people are doing this and there is alot more people doing Garuda. I am glad you are so awesome at it and award you one shiny star but I know people are still trying to get this and thought I would share.

Gear wise our BLM have atleast (before food)
380 INT
440 M.Acc

We have been using this spell rotation for our BLM to make sure they are always casting.

Spell Rotations for BLMs:

100-90% (first jump)
Thunder - Thundera Only (allow Tank to build hate)

90-69%
Thunder - Thundera - Thundaga
Thunder - Thundera
Thunder
Freeze/Blizzard
Thunder - Thundera - Thundaga
-repeat-

68-x% (stop at 68% wait for her to jump and release plumes, BV and then move the mages away from the pillar to the wall (avoids plume damage). Normally we have her down to 25% when she blasts then just go all out and nuke her.

Thunder - Thundera - Burst (with Convert ofc)
Thunder
Freeze/Blizzard

A bit different to the way we did it but not much.

We took her to 70-65% before 2nd jump, waited for the 3rd and took her down as far as possible so we skiped phase 2. After 2h we killed the adds and nuked her afterwards. At the beginning a BLM used flare with a collusion for initial hate.

BTW 440 macc is abit low for garuda

Yeah we just let the adds live and take her out. 440 macc is bottom end most of use are higher than that.
