Stamina was just Energy under a different name, built on top of Rage/Righteous Fury/TP. A resource system built on top of another resource system that happens to have no synergy with it.
And while I have nothing against pitching a penny for Rokien's WoW account, who's gonna buy the game for him? >.>
I'm more curious over how this will affect combat strategies. Though this might also be there to allow us to use what in other MMOs would be free openers without exactly making them resource-free.Quote:

Mages can use magic right off the bat. Whats so alien about melee using WS off the bat? This is new but it is not new at the same time. MP is for mages, TP is for melee. I'm not saying it will be this way at launch, for all we know, that was probably god-mode.
Way to make a thread about welcoming back a system that I actually enjoyed and wish they had built upon it instead of throwing that idea away and using a similar system to Aion.
He's right in a way if they don't change something people will be running out of TP waiting for it to recharge just like stamina in ARR. But only I don't want it to come back it was horrible mechanic that shouldn't be brought back.

i actually liked the stamina system, you could go all out with attacks but that came at a price of wearing yourself out and had to wait there where also a plethora of ways you could pace yourself and never run out of stamina. don't kid yourself if you think this new system is going to be just like it. it probably works like it but the Pacing is done for you.

I don't think they should ban Rokien or reduce specifically his posting abilities. I think they really should make a cap on thread creation especially so we don't get the flood of threads we currently have. He does intentionally bring up topics just to see the ensuing arguments but, and it really pains me to say it, it's not ALWAYS a bad thing. It just becomes bad when he, or others, stop using actual logic in their arguments and it goes from a discussion to purely trolling.
That said, on this very old topic, I've said it before and I'll say it again:
The new system is very similar to the current system, there's just a few differences.
Currently TP generation is based on delay, abilities and throwing weapons. Abilities are here to stay and throwing weapons look like they're heading out the door so let's focus on delay. Basically currently if two classes auto-attack over a set period of time, provided the delay numbers eventually match up, they will have the same amount of TP. The only time this would not be true is if either one missed an attack.
So how is that similar to the new system? Well let's assume that the TP generation rate is the same for all classes, nothing they've told us suggests otherwise. This simply causes everyone to generate TP at the same rate regardless of delay and no longer penalizes you for missing. Otherwise it's pretty much exactly like the current system.
Things like abilities and the Store TP stat will likely increase the TP generated over time.

Dear Huginn: Please either stop posting in Rokien threads or ban yourself from life. Doing so will assist us in keeping Rokiens threads to him posting something and watching it quickly fall off the front page. Everytime you decide to tell the moderators on the public forum how you feel they should handle things, you just let Rokien keep his post on the front page.
The only reason people spammed 1112223311122 was because there was a problem with the system (in which it wouldn't recognise the fact that you pressed the damn ability).
Even if they WERE to bring back the stamina system, what makes you think it will still have all the problems it had in 1.0?

Well its true that it looks like the stamina system, lets see what the alpha tester think about it, imo i didnt disagreed on stamina system at all, back then, was faster than what we have now, but the bad thing was that even for normal attacks you had to spam a lot to get tp, with ws i dont think this will be a problem, we have combos now and we only need to worry in the position of the starter ws.
The only class/job that has stamina kinda system is archer atm, for those who doesnt know how was it, think the same light shot spam but for every melee class, the players that raged more were the tanks, too many stuff to do at the same time and having to wait stamina to recharge so you could provoke etc.
In short i dont think it will be too much spam, at the end they will add a timer for ws, im almost certain.
Have you never played a game with Universal Cooldown before? It's terrible.
