While the friendly is laggy as hell, because the simple fact you wanna see who's online seems to overload the servers.

Welp this is it then... I want to thank everyone who gave there honest take on a topic many just would have taken as bait.
The last couple of weeks I have read a lot of threats trying to understand in what state the game is and... I had planned to make on big ass final post listing what everything go´s wrong with this game... how it could be done better within the border of limitation the netcode forces on us.
But finally... I found it... the reason the game is in this sorry state... every complain condensed into one singe reason... the Devs do not care and haven´t cared in a long long time. They admitted design the game in to be cheap and easy on themself.

I keep my Ideas, Motivation, and dedication for my own Future game project instead to scream it to devs that couldn't care less to improve there cashcow. This is officially the last das of my Sub and doubting the devs will ever put any effort into this game this will be a goodbye for good.

The only thing making leaving hard are my friends that are sill in this game.

This. The spark sure as hell is still there... but someone they dont manage to keep it alive at all...

I started last year. To be honest? All the side content I haven't done yet, finally getting lucky on a house, my FC, glam, leveling all jobs to 100 etc. I don't know what I will do when I'm done with all of that, it scares me tbh.

This is what I think is a big problem for FFXIV. It's amazing for new players, you literally have stuff to do for hundreds and hundreds of hours. But it must SUCK for veterans that have been playing for years. Especially the long gaps without new content. WoW does nowadays a way better job with that.

Because this is the onlything that legally lets me murder a human in the game ressed like a clown, or even lets me picks ome dialogue for story when i do NG+ from time to time to enjoy some older content. Plus having a FC who do weekly things is a thing i look forward too doing after a stressful work week

Gotcha moment for Yoshi. Living in a 1 room apartment on the 30th floor but hey, at least I got a virtual house in a virtual upscale neighborhood. The FFXIV players do know their priorities.

I used to be here because of:
- the story
- raids
- deep dungeons
- housing
- roleplay
- fun busywork (tomestones, dailies etc.)


Now I'm here because of:
- housing

Besides roleplay, everything else is too repetitive for me to enjoy it anymore, dull, a downgrade of what I used to like, or I'm already finished.

As soon as WoW releases its housing system chances of me switching are pretty high.

At this point my subscription is me paying housing rent, because I'm waiting for the huge housing update we were promised this expansion.

Actually 3 rooms and im well off thanks, what a mindless take almost as if you didnt paly the past year.

No idea at this point to be frank.

The only thing I do anymore is Onsal and Seal Rock. I pretty much skip everything else because it's not fun anymore and I just don't care. Then I stupidly get a glimmer of hope on new content days like today, and I log in ready to try the new Occult Crescent to try and work on a relic. 8+ hours of mind-numbingly boring Fate grinding for not one single Demiatma. And then I am reminded why I only do a few nights of Frontlines a week, because everything else in the game is tedious, unfun bullshit.

Yoshida acknowledged the communeties worry about the Homoginazation and sayed it would be adressed... only for 7.2 to drop and proving... the Devs do not give a fuck about Jobs and see High end Raiding as the be all and end all of this game, and I coulden´t care less for it.

In the last view weeks I read a lot of Discords and Forum posts and... Many agree... DT was a shit show of story, Jobs dummer then ever and the majorety of the people I saw do not care for Extream, Savage and Ultimates and lament that jobs get cut down to fit this kind of content. Space Exploration is a shit show on an embaresing scale as it seems, which leaves me with this question to the community...

what even holds you in the game? Because my honest answer there is nothing left for me and I am really interested to hear what other people still see in this game.

I’ll give you my honest and deepest answer.I love the fantasy world and everything in it even though it gets destroyed in story as of Dawntrail(might get changed later on) but I love a fantasy world like that and its the only mmo that has it or at least it’s the only one that made it well

My houses and pvp

I like playing it.
I have fun when I press buttons fighting cool looking enemies. I get excited when I finally catch that fish I've been after. I like talking to my friends.
Sometimes, I might not play it for a month or more, maybe a new game came out or I just feel like playing something else, but then I feel like playing again, so I do, and have fun.

It used to be the MSQ for me.

This time the MSQ is hot garbage, so I don't have that anymore.

Got into CC for three seasons and reached Crystal.

As of today, there is nothing in the game that I find compelling enough to keep me playing.

I cancelled my subscription today.

I will return once I notice things have improved.
