Petition for Spanish Translation of Final Fantasy XIV

I don't speak Spanish, but if there's a chance I could hear one word, it would be worth it.

I don't speak Spanish since i'm Brazilian, but i support this initiative in the name of my Sudaca neighbors. Hopefully we get a translation to Portuguese and Russian as well, since both of those languages have way more speakers than German.

I 100% support this idea! I’m brazilian and I know that for many people here spanish is way easier to understand than english because it is absurdly similar to our native language, brazilian portuguese. This would not only be welcome by folks here but would also bring even more players to the game as many who dont play at the moment dont do it because they cant understand english— or can but not very well.

Honestly just the texts translations would be fine and a huge help (and perhaps one day we might get it in portuguese too? lmao). Please SE!

If I had the chance I would personally work on this as a translator/localization specialist and I would move to Japan if I had to.

i dont speak spanish, but it seems like a good investion.
do it square enix. step by step. start with arr without any voice acting. and if the numbers grow enough you can still add the voices

at least the free trial or all ARR for a start, would be great to have more localization

There is no reason that FFXIV should not have Spanish support in a world where literally most of North America is very largely of Hispanic and Latin descent. It's also becoming increasingly obvious that even in the United States, English is rivaled by Spanish. I've been to a lot of states, and the amount of Spanish I hear is frequent. I 100% support this.

Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language in the world - I'm pretty surprised this hasn't already happened. At minimum, FF14 should be capable of translating in-game functionality e.g. settings etc.

Further down the line, I don't see why we can't also have the entire stories translated and even voice acted, but I appreciate this may be costly.

I still think ff14 would benefit from a spanish translation!

Maybe a hard take but even with all this shouting it won't happen "today" because reasons, Spanish speakers are already playing the gaming and enjoying it so no hurry also SE isn't on is best moment to spend a lot time effort and money in translations right now and the Graphical update on the way but maybe by 8.x to 9.x maybe does happen. Also if ever because just like Gaia, Mana and Meteor don't like to play with Elemental/Oceania maybe the FFXIV team will try to make a Spanish data center for central/south America for Spanish speakers and try to split, so people can play more comfy before they ever introduce a new language no for racist reasons but to have your own space just like NA North America EU and there soon 3 data centers one with different main languages to speak and JP still sharing DT with Australia Players and Oceania still wish they add Spanish so that they can enjoy the story or understand the game outside of EN,JP,FR and DE wish you luck people.

Some of my friends refuse to join this game due to the language barrier, so it would be nice to have an official Spanish translation. It doesn't even need to be introduced in one go, they can do like they did with duty support and implement it patch by patch.

Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world so it only makes sense to have this implemented in the long term if you want to reach a wider audience.

I feel like this would be a huge step forward, considering spanish is widely used in many parts of the world.

I fully agree with a Spanish translation of the game, the more people able to enjoy the game the better.

I've been playing since 2013 and one of the main reasons my country does not have a big population in the game is the lack of a Spanish translation :(

Yeah I'd like to have Latinoamerican localization. I have a lot of friends who left the game in A Realm Reborn because they struggled with the language barrier.

In NA Cactuar, Hyperion and Lamia are full of latinos, you can talk in Spanish in a city and someone will understand you because the quantity of Latinoamericans is huge. We even have people from Spain there. At this point you can't ignore the amount of players that will be grateful for a translation.

I bet a Spanish + Latino version would make a lot of sense!
Similar as the English translation with different varieties of English, we could have different varieties of Spanish representing different places in the game, like:
Tural = Latino
Gridania = Spanish

Something like that would make a cool localization :D

Tons of spanish people would play XIV if it was in our language. I know lots of people who don't play because the level of english of the game is pretty advanced, consequently they don't understand the story and don't get hooked. No need to get a dub (although it'd be nice). We're used to consume entertainment products with subtitles, so less work for you SE!

I have many friends who would be encouraged to play the game if it were in Spanish, besides, there are many people like me, who do not speak English very well, and we would like to enjoy the story in our native language, I hope they translate the game into Spanish.
