I love the way you talk, Mao :)
It's good to imagine an accent at that, like I do for all Vieras here :3

It’s quieter and cheap to just teleport to a residential area and go to that marketboard instead.
Assuming that every player should change their way of it playing because you have a diagnosis isn’t reasonable. Calling these players names and being hostile towards them on the forums is immature.
Go and find your own solution instead of living on being a victim.
They literally all stepped in, telling OP to touch grass, to just mute the sound effects, which they said a million times they already did, talking down to him, making snarky and insulting comments and remarks, and then somehow he gets the blame for losing his cool after 14 pages of taking it from people
The irony
"hey i have sensory issues/autism/tinnitus/etc, it would be nice if there's a way to mute the annoying crafting sounds without having to mute stuff like emotes too"
"QUIT BEING A VICTIM NOBODY HAS TO CHANGE FOR YOU"
"TOUCH GRASS TOUCH GRASS THIS ISNT WORTH ANY DEV TIME, IT'S UNREALISTIC FOR ANY OF THEIR VALUABLE TIME TOUCH GRASS TOUCH GRASS"
yeah it's clearly the OP who is the problem here, not the pathetic losers who have built parasocial relationships with the developers and rush in to scream down any slight suggestion that the game could improve lmao
But they do have a current option they can utilize in the meantime.
You can pick out the “insensitivities”. But let’s not ignore the suggesting of a current and viable option.
But they should just mute the game. If hammering or sewing bothers them, then holy, limit breaks etc should as well. Notice the qualifying word “annoying”. I believe this is more a preferential request than a disability accessibility option
I stand by what I said. There are many sound effects in game that have similar effects to hammering an anvil. But crafting was chosen in particular. Holy would have a similar effect. So… mute the game if it’s so bothersome. At least til they give you something, if ever
Tinnitus is a constant ringing in your ears. It's always there, but not always deafening. Things can trigger the ringing to get worse. So it was perfectly reasonable for Kolaina to suggest Holy, which has a shrill ping as it goes off, to be triggering.
Tinnitus is not the exact same for everyone. Holy may not bother you, but it may bother other people with it.
I never said the opposite as far as I'm aware, however there are certain sounds that are a lot worse than others, blacksmithing crafting being one, and also that one with the rocks, hell I dont even know what job that is, amongst many others.
And yes, that is what tinnitus is, and yes, holy could potentially trigger it, but you dont see people at every single marketboard spamming holy, or hell even in the middle of Limsa.
As I just said, some sounds are worse than others, yes holy is annoying as well, but to a much lesser extent as its not present at every marketboard.
It was also suggested to find another market board. I know there’s an inconvenience there. However, it’s not everyone else’s responsibility to look after yours or anyone else’s disabilities. That’s why there have been suggestions currently available. Mute. Relocate.
It’s not like you’d have to stay muted your entire duration of play. Just while you’re “triggered”
And once again, I will repeat what has been said a bazillion times in this thread, OP made a suggestion, they already know you can mute the game, and so do I, however thats a temporary solution and OP was suggesting a more permanent one.
I dont understand why its rocket science at this point, it's like talking to a wall
I also have never ever said that people should stop crafting at marketboards because of my tinnitus, so I'm not sure where that comes from, I never said it was their responsibility.
That would be alchemist, and I agree that noise is grating. And I don't even have sensory issues or tinnitus. But holy shit is it annoying.
And while people may not be spamming holy in Limsa, whm tend to be most common in duties. So if you are someone who doesn't spend all your time in Limsa, would the option we have now to mute all sound effects not be the best option? Legitimately asking.
They acknowledged that they can turn off noise and just asked for a way to have those specifically removed. Don't act like people were just "trying to be helpful" or present options when the first responses were "just move if you care so much" and "Seriously I'm amazed on players nonsensical requests. "
People weren't coming in to be helpful and suggest options, they were coming in to be dismissive and rude towards a request because "muh dev time touch grass" in the typical fashion.
"If [x] is annoying, then [y] should be too!"Quote:

Uhhh, no lmao
Also spamming Holy in cities is a bannable offense, crafting noises aren't. You're trying to compare two things that have nothing to do with each other, especially when one is against the rules because it is so annoying and disruptive. What do you gain out of saying the OP can mute the game when the OP LITERALLY said they know they can? You aren't contributing anything to the thread.
I mean you said it yourself, people have different triggers regarding tinnitus, personally Holy doesnt bother me, while crafting sounds are extremely irritating and create gigantic ringing.
That's why an option to mute only crafting sounds would be good, and well if people get triggered by both holy and the crafting sounds, they can mute both effectively removing both triggers at once yes. But an option would be better at least regarding the crafting ones. That's what me and OP have been asking for all thread long, instead of having to mute the entire game, a simple option to mute only the crafting ones.
This tbh, lets not pretend like people came in this thread with good intentions, all they did was repeating the same nonsense, telling OP to touch grass, snarky comments and insulting remarks and saying that their request didnt matter.
I didn’t say they should stop crafting at market boards. Also not everything pertains to you. It was brought up earlier in the thread about crafters at market boards. Did you skip that part? Sorry was a jab at you for saying that to someone else. Regardless, the op presents their case like the sounds are a current issue. So being responded to with a current solution is viable
I understand where you're coming from, and like I said before, I'm not against the suggestion. And I definitely don't agree with the "touch grass" comments.
Maybe I just have a hard time understanding why people care so much about keeping certain sound effects because I don't play with sound. So I apologize for my ignorance in that respect. I just personally don't see the big deal with the current options encompassing more than the specifics people wants.
I think if you could squeeze this entire thread, you would keep useful drops of nice lines such:
- OP pointed an option to control the volume of crafting sounds. This is a nice request.
- until devs do something about the request, everyone could use tools that are already in game.
- others sounds might have their own controls as well like some skills/spells. Which is, again, a nice thought for them to consider.
There is nothing more useful here to care about. :)
About "fights" I can only add the Jedi saying (from SWTOR):
"The best way to win is by not fighting" :)
System Configuration>Sound Settings>Player Effects Volume>Other PCs to 0
It is in fact fucking annoying, doesnt matter you if have autism or not it's REALLY annoying
