So many people offended by a joke chair.
sheesh...
People are not ganging up on you. They're expressing a counter-opinion once they've become aware that your opinion exists.
You're free to have your opinion about this item. Other people are free to express why they think your opinion is ridiculous, and have their own opinion that this item should remain as-is. It's a public forum. It's not your private space to whine.
If this is what you're going to throw a siwwy wittle tantwum about then maybe it's a good thing you have a high chair to do it from.
Gonna go get my pitchfork because Square Enix have yarn ball furniture items for Miqo'te to play with and that's clearly evil.
I've been playing a Lalafell since I started this game, and this is a very funny and good piece of furniture. Lighten up, everyone.
Acting so much like the babies you claim not to be
Tbh. Just ignore it. And it’ll inevitably become old news that you’ll barely remember.
The good thing about online interactions is that they aren’t ‘real’ in a sense. Or, at least, they’re ultimately inconsequential in most cases.
All these folks referring to Lalafell players as infants or ‘pe*os’ are one block/blacklist button away from no longer being visible. It’s what I personally do after I get to that point where I’m genuinely annoyed by someone here, on twitter, reddt, TikTok, etc.
They just barely exist after a certain point.
Ignoring the harassment and name calling, I went ahead and edited the post with friendlier clarification since 'removal' was a bit of an extreme word. Most of what I'd like to see at this point is just a name change to basic "Highchair" or whatever would work best. Thanks again to those who provided civil discussion. :o
They should keep it
Its hilarious. Ngl.
i have played this game since arr's release in 2013 and i made a forum account just now to reply to this thread and say
lmao, just lmao
It looks like SE really knows the people who play lala's if you're gonna cry about this. lmao
Well yes, it's annoying.
People coming and saying "just don't use it" seem to be willingly missing the point that it won't stop other players from using this to satisfy their own desire to treat Lalafell players like children.
Proof enough is the people here saying stuff "you didn't pick an adult race" and other garbage simply because we already get treated like children for a simple choice on what we play, and this perpetuates that issue.
It doesn't matter if we choose to use it or not. It simply paints a target on Lalafell.
Do I want the chair removed? No, of course not. But having it not be tied to the race would be at least marginally better. The step-stool is neutral in appearance. There was no reason to make this so blocky and baby-like.
ff14 players when they look at the thousands of housing items they could use (you all probably dont even remember all of them) and decide to get mad about a single because “lalafells deserve better” ah yes the race who has a bunch of enotes that seem like they were specifically made for it and has unique class animations deserves better when we have two races in the game that still cant wear hats I swear you people need to get a grip man.

Guys I think they made a major error in the lalafell's race description in character creation
People are allowed to be upset/concerned about more than one thing. I also wish the two new races could wear more hats (I'd love to play hrothgar more!) The devs clearly care about feedback and concerns, especially when in the recent patch notes a friend brought up a tiny bug on one specific glamour set and now it's labeled as a "Known Issue" that they are fixing.
I'm not into the high chair myself cause we don't have babies to put in it but I have no problem with it's name or design.
We Lalas do look like 5 year olds and the mustache wearing Lalas look like Kiebler Elves, so like it or not we're the kid race and I'd rather be a cool looking 5 year old then some weird looking knome race other games have for their small race.
I want a lifter.
Gonna reply here cause its funny as shit to read.
Plus my largely lalafell FC finds it hilarious.
It's a joke item and other races have joke items. You don't have to use it.
People amaze me in how sensitive they are.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T USE IT SHORTY
At-first glace I felt this was a micro-aggression. A lot of times people don't realize they are part of such, or just adverse to knowing it is.
Things like objectification, misgendering people, treating as 2nd-class cause of their gender/race/sex. Even saying simple things like "let's have a powwow in the break room" which just rolls off some people's tongues still to this day. Maybe some should look up what these things are before just rolling to some conclusion that it's nothing.
Question cause I'm just curious,
Let says we find out that more Lalafells like this as is then those that don't, then what?
Admittedly saying this not as a lalafel-player, but I feel like the problem is that this is the only lalafel-'friendly' chair, and it's a joke. Which is a shame because there are so many lalafel that the game takes broadly seriously, even setting aside the players themselves. (And yeah, there just aren't items making fun of other races in the same way, not nearly to the level lalafel get.)
What if they also added all the lalafel-sized dwarven furniture from Shadowbringers?
Can we get it changed to this instead?
Would really fit the emotional vibes this chair gives off.

Y'KNOW, THAT'S FINE AND DANDY, Except there's One problem.
The 'joke' is a stereotype that literally 80-90% of the community that it 'archetypes' are Vehemontly Against, and I've gotten to read posts of how terminally depressed and lost people who suffer the worst of this 'humor' want to K themselves because they just want to log in, play the game, enjoy their day and mind their business, but unfortunately people keep Targeting and Harassing them for being a short person.
I once Was a lalafell. On Week One of Endwalker, I was forced to take Back healer group despite being a Reaper, because the healer for group 1, the melee group, decided they didn't want to be near a lalafell. And she was VERY vocal of her disgust.
'Ew, f*cking lalafell. He's not in my light group'
I spent the rest of my week Absolutely Dominating the DPS charts, and banging out clears left and right.
The 'Joke' is not funny. I can go on about how If I throw a Dime through limsa, I'd hit more catgirls than I could Buy with one, and how the bunny people prolly thump their feet when their mad, and NOBODY is offended or Hurt by that.
People have Died because of the lengths of harassment people commit to on attacking the lalafell playerbase, insisting they Are children when they are NOT. It's not funny, not to us, not when others have to see it, and even the people Doing it very visibly have to force their laughter to keep the charade. It's Not Funny.
...Yer joking, right?
Oh no, your catgirl was called a catgirl. Please, get back to me when you've been Stalked IRL and tracked via IP, had your phone and email harassed Hourly, and be coerced into Race changing by threats of Violence, Arson, Robbery, or just straight up Death threats, just for being a Miqote.
We as a species have been dealing with discrimination for almost all of human history. But what finally broke the camel's back was when a fictional race of small people made up entirely of pixels got laughed at.
Fascinating.
You're not real lalafells anymore than I am a tall and leggy Elezen. Fun to pretend but at the end of the day, you gotta get back to reality and deal with the body you have been dealt with in real life.
