not sure what you are queuing for, but never had to wait "multiple hours" for anything, even raids.

+1.
80% of the player base don't even play the game or do content , most people uses FFXIV for "social events " or a poor version of Second Life client
I wouldn't mind more tough solo encounters along the lines of what the Bozja duels and Masked Carnivale offered.
Some kind of setting where they can offer "extreme" versions of MSQ duels like those against Zenos and Ran'jit would be interesting.
As much as I love being on Crystal, Crystal pf kinda sucks for raiding. Would have loved to not be stuck in p3s for 6 months for example.
I disagree with OP proposal but i kinda agree with him in a way that savage/ultimate raids biggest difficulty is to find group(s) to do content you want.
It's super frustrating to do savage in party finder early weeks and current ultimate you will never do in party finder unless you play on NA or probably Japan and no life it aswell.
I play on Light and DSR died quickly in PF and i barely managed to clear even UCOB in PF in a month where like 50%+ of my gameplay was simply AFKING FOR HOURS WAITING GROUP TO FILL.
It is kinda funny that SE hates THIRD PARTY TOOLS that just give bigger font for cooldowns but in order to FIND STATIC you have to RELY ON THIRD PARTY WEBSITES.
I have started playing in like august, so soon it's going to be 12 months me playing ff14, i got to 80 in september and i still didnt found savage group for 6.05, 6.2 and dsr aswell ( i got to p2 dashes but every group that desperate to kill are p5-6 already and finding dedicated group from my point will be probably more impossible as time goes on as people will jump to do new savage then even more new content like relics and even new ultimate)
Maybe it's time to implement good system to find people/groups to do content in game atleast (LFG static LFM for static)? No one cares about party finder listnings and also why would i afk 24/7 to have my listning in party finder?
I'm a bit baffled they haven't implemented something like this yet when it's pretty standard in modern MMOs.
The interface for this is basically already ingame: the PF interface. Increase the limit for the custom text, add boxes for casual/ midcore/ hardcore and maybe some additional things like blind prog, voice chat, fixed schedule/ flexible schedule, add the option for setting multiple duties as the ones you're currently progging. The minimum item level is a good option for statics, same with first timers welcome.
And in reverse you can use the same interface for your LFG listing: tick all the classes you're willing to play, choose some duties you want to do/ are currently progging, add your item level, add preferences for the direction etc.
I'd personally prefer to have something similar for FCs ingame as well because the Community Finder is okay but it doesn't get used nearly as much as an ingame feature would - if implemented properly, that is.
But I strongly suspect the reason for not doing it is something something server load, you already have PF/ linkshells/ that other thing I even forgot the name of (we don't).
Because if he had struggles to join/prog/clear ultimate he would have at the very least thought about official ff14 way to find group to do specific content. Party finder is not for current ultimate.
And just for you white knight explain me this: third party mods like bigger fonts are bad BUT third party sites are good? So you basically will agree that one specific site that people will use to recruit on "social meda" is totally fine? :)
If they do content almost impossible to do in party finder then it's good time to make recruiting in ff14 (game you know) better.
just going to put it out there, since I am pretty sure someone has mentioned this
SE is in no way against making your own savage raid party with friends or FC mates and running them every week. in current wordage, I believe they are called "statics". you dont even need a party finder for those unless you need subs.
I know, is a bit more work than coming here and complaining about it, but, requires zero development time and you can enjoy it RIGHT NOW.
Apples and oranges on the mods vs. something like discord, but yes. The fewer systems they have to run and manage in this game the better. This kind of thing pre-dates FFXIV. People have always used other sites and services for communication and info. There's so much out there, even catering to specific needs, like clearing Eureka / Bozja or running BLU content.
BTW, BS on the statement about them being against accessibility mods. They want to help people in that regard. They're mainly against things like DPS meters. (I'm not white kinghting, you're just being obtuse and belligerent.)
As another person said it there they almost have this system exist just a bit more tinkering with Party Finder. Also ff14 is their cash cow, you sure they really cant afford to do this? They make criterion dungeons yet they cant do finding static thingy??
Also nice try to white wash devs "oooh they are listening they will make some mods to be in game" (while banning people for using them). Also still i want you to explain this to me : how do you LFM/LFG ultimate group to do DSR while using third party sites and compltely avoid dps metres site?
Your suggestions don't work you know. Troll^^
Fellowships don't require you to be online and would support what you're looking for.
Of course the whole Fellowship feature is trash and rather painful to keep up with. The Fellowship notification sound is so faint and sounds like MogMail. There's no other notification for it. The top level Fellowship UI doesn't (or didn't) tell you which Fellowships have new messages or updated MotD's. Yet another good idea died because UI/UX isn't a skill Square has figured out yet.
Or go hit up reddit and take a peek at the listings there.
BTW disagreeing with you is not trolling.
