and why should he have it because the red mage has it, precisely it would be much better if the devs moved away from it and really gave the summoner a utility kit without the summoner being a bad copy from the red mage in less good,
it's already the case, and that's not a good thing at all.
By your own logic, why should Red Mage have a raise spell since Summoner already has one? This can technically work both ways. Summoner was also out for years before Red Mage ever made its first Final Fantasy XIV appearance, but I think both jobs should get to have simple raise and heal spells, not only the newer one.
Personally, I’ll be extremely upset if Summoner ever loses its raise spell and really hope that never happens. I would also like its healing spell to be more useful via a referenced stat update (or a replacement healing spell for better distinguishing from Scholar), rather than remaining totally untouched but eventually being coupled with a higher-level trait upgrade. Regarding Resurrection though, I’ve happily and enjoyably casted it as a Summoner for years.
Yet it is for the summoner that they mentioned wanting to remove the resurrection in 7.0 (I hope they honestly don't), if the summoner has the basic resurrection it is because he is linked to the scholar, and it is also the case of physick, the red mage has resurrection because he manipulates white/black magic.
If Resurrection arbitrarily gets removed from Summoner yet Red Mage gets to unfairly keep its raise move despite the former being around for much longer, they better replace it with some equally notable utility; otherwise, it’s making an already pretty simple job even simpler while adding nothing equally complex in return, like with Samurai losing Kaiten.
I wonder why... Like, Physick has been the source of complaints ever since I can remember, I really doubt they are oblivious to this. (Tho, honestly YP surprises me when he says the team didn't know something was a popular claim)
For the spell to get its own ID, its own separate instance, work had to be done on it. Maybe it was indeed like you said, someone working on it forgot to finish and since Physick is mostly situational utility, nobody rememebered to actually finish the work and just copy pasted the stats of old Physick.
