Got the nightmare to happen.

Kept on sleeping for an hour and relogging in and it happened. Also recorded it, working on rendering it atm. Got it recorded with the gear I wanted to be in and such (also did the Futures Perfect cutscene for the heck of it).

Basically when you sleep you have to wait at least an hour to tic so you'll gain rested EXP. That's when you can relog in, and when that happens you'll awake fully rested and you'll have either a nice dream/item or that nightmare.

Got the nightmare after staying logged off for just a half hour, gonna try and see if I can get a dream from being logged off only 15 mins.

Anyways, I got a bit sidetracked so I didn't log in until about 25 mins after I logged off. I didn't get a dream, just the "You feel somewhat refreshed." message, so I'm assuming you have to stay logged out at least 30 minutes to get a dream.

The bed feature is one of the best so far imo lol.. i love it. Hope to see more stuff about it in the future!

I was thinking devs could make some mini-quests playable in the dream (always random). With these elements:

- when you play in the dream you can wake up in every moment (skip button), but if you want to do i again you have to wait the next time you login and to have the luck it appears.

- there could be various kind of dreams and nightmares you could 'play' (bad or nice ones) like: fighting particular battles, seeing oniric visions, flying over the landscapes, finding someone in a dark land and so on.

- all of these should have some elements typical of a dream, like: strange and absurd stuff in it (like things out of places), if you die in the dream you wake up and so on.

- you could obtain items or rewards in the dreams as well (that materialize under the bed lol) or find clues/hints/info about Eorzea or particular npc/monsters.

- you could find a rare creature (NM) in one particular nightmare (rare) to defeat. Or it could appear in one of them, randomly (very rare).


..and so on. It has infinite possibilities, if you ask me. ^_^

I just had an AMAZING idea.

Why not use the bed for replaying dream cutscenes.

It makes sense. By the power of your imagination you'll be able to see them again.

It works better than using the journal since the journal is used for quests.

Everyone gets cutscenes and all I get is some text saying I had a nightmare about being turned into a biscuit by an evil magician...I feel ripped off :(

Yeah, that's the joke.

It's kinda like how people were expecting to use our Echo ability to revisit the past to see cutscenes (explains why we'd be in our newer gear), rather that read a book that does it for us.

I bet we'll wind up gazing into a lamp or something to see dreams.

At least you get get some action.. All I get is "you had a vivid dream of sitting at a campfire by a bubbling brook" or something about a nightmare where a crystal falls on the floor and shatters.

the past two times i have had the same dream about lights desending from the heavens.

there was a potion when i hecked my bed both times.

@ Cendres - Yes, you have to examine the bed to get an item if you have any sort of dream.

Although... I forgot if I got something after the nightmare CS. I guess not since at the end of that whole thing, I ended up outside of the Inn. D:

It sort of weirds me out that my Miqo'te sleeps the EXACT SAME WAY I do. (Granted, I'm an incredibly petite female... but still...)

I sleep the same way as my Miqo'te too >_> its not weird!!!
In my study of yoga I have come to find out sleeping on your right side helps promote falling asleep faster. (^.^)b

Waiting for the day we can have inn room sleep-overs!! (totally platonic, of course!)

There's no science behind it for me... but the TV is on the right side, so that's the way I face... haha.

I sleep quite a bit like my Elezen actually, although not so..let's say daintily. Still, often with the arm under my head and the semi crossed legs.

That said, I often wake up face down (probably not good for my breathing or my heart, but it's hard to control how you move when you're sleeping).

I sleep sorta like the Miqo'te, except my upper body is turned more towards the bed, and one arm is under the pillow.

That's exactly how I sleep too.

I've not had any of the new nightmares myself... I think it's because my lalafell might be scared of the monster in the armoire...

I love how when you have a good dream you can check your bed and get what ever the item is you had a dream about, so far, just crystals for me.
