Believe me I will not do BLM stacking groups, and if I see one of my ls's constantly stack BLMs mine will be pretty much retired, before DH I was gonna lvl ARC, I was loving it, then the bandwagon rolled in and I suddenly hated it, I play the game becuase I enjoy it, if I'm getting locked out of content because people see one strat and bandwagon it I'm not enjoying it.

Be thankful I don't work for SE because ARC/BRD, possibly BLM would be completly useless.

I am a DRG, I want to play my fave job whether I decide to run with a LS or run with a PUG.

I'm actually very happy you guys killed with with blm and brd so that we can hear more whining, as you said in your post I assume it took quite a bit of analysis to figure out and if the best synergy was found using that party setup then no one should have anything to say about it. In the end a kill is a kill and regardless of the setup or manner in which it was achieved it is still a great accomplishment! Congrats again, cant wait to see the vid.

Grats guys!! As far as "class stacking" (lol) goes I dont even think there is a legit complaint. You experimented and tried what ended up working for you; at the end of the day you gotta go with what seems to be working best for your group of players. For the clueless derps, this is what we call group synergy. Grats on a good win!


Now as far as using MNK/DRG goes, allow me to make a tentative suggestion (i say tentative cuz i dont have the win yet lol). I think your DRG/MNKs have the wrong mentality. When I say that, I mean no one said you *have* to use combos. Using combos grant bonuses yes, and use less tp, but if you can generate a lot of tp anyway it doesn't matter. I dont play MNK but for DRG I know that comboing into our hardest hitting skills only raises the crit hit rate. Now if you have good crit rate already, it doesn't matter. But even if you dont, a crit isn't absolutely necessary, and no one knows how big the increase is anyway.



My point is that you can use certain skills outside of combo. My suggestion would be Chaos Thrust and Ring of Talons outside of combo. Just keep them on cooldown as isolated skills, probably using keen flurry for chaos thrust whenever its up. Oh yeah you can keep Doom Spike on CD too...so thats 3 isolated skills. What to do the rest of the time is on you. If you miss frequently you can spam the miss combos. IF you don't miss frequently, you can keep the low-acc WS (impulse drive) on cd and use that miss to combo into your disembowel combo.


What I'm saying is that your DD's can still ramp up on the weaponskills without using combos. Combos are great, tp conservative, and add some bonuses....but at the end of the day they are not required for dps. Its ideal, but there's other really good ways to go about it. You'd have to experiment with the skill rotation a lot outside of doing combos ( a challenge I admit ) but if you wanted to try it with those MNKs and DRGs again...give the suggestion a shot.


EDIT: Heck you can even experiment with partial combos (2 WS's max)...I'm glad you mentioned the point though because it gives a focus for when I do the 50 battle.

I agree people will follow a certain aspect, that's always been the case for almost any game.. so its not new.. what needs to stop is your consant bickering about how BG beat it with a few classes.. I dont giaf if they beat it 8 blm.. THEY STILL WON AND WERE THE FIRST REGARDLESS.... why can't you comprehend this??

It was a ranged attack only fight like everything else done (except ifrit before the class reforms) BLM and BRD from a dmg point of view are used entirely for the long range attacks, so yes it was class stacking tanks healers and LONG RANGE DDs.

Where is the mix of melee and long range dds? not there because people see a long range stratagy and bandwagon it.

The only thing more powerful than stacking BLMs and BRDs is your lack of reading comprehension. If your LS "bandwagons" things take it up with them. You're free to play however you want.

I do see his position though.. I may have all the jobs in the world to be (though I rather be DRG in the fight, but I'll be what I'll be). But in FFXI when I only had 1 Job to do anything with.. All people were asking for was Specific jobs that weren't the only job I had.. so I was stuck aimlessly trying to get jobs that I don't like that much.. I was kinda FORCED into leveling something I didn't want to level to get anything done...

While I do congratulate them on a job well done.. I still feel like some people like Delsus and I'm sure other people that may not have all jobs maxed out.. will have a hard time getting into Primal fights. Including people that are new to the fight.. they have the roughest time of them all..

Delsus, I feel your pain but this is just how it works in MMO's no in days everyone wants a "Certain" thing or GTFO.. >.<
